I think your switch is damaged because i have never seen anyone play on switch and it run like that. And i have 105 hours in the game so far. Or you're emulating that could be a factor.
Lol the footage may not be running at its true framerate. I was being a little hyperbolic, but the Switch demonstrably runs many 3rd party releases significantly worse than all other consoles. Like objectively, across all console units.
@@ThrillingDuck ahh alright then. as far as third party yes thats right because third party on switch is 30 fps but if you're bothered by 30 fps why buy a switch and not a xbox series x , ps5 or pc ?
I think you are in the right. Re remakes are a good one off experience but outside of 1 remake most of them misunderstand the originals or just make changes that damage the characters and timeline. Capcom needs to let them be their own separate thing and go back to the OG character designs that we know and love.
I can agree with a good amount of this! Until we get to Ecclesia Player expression is fine. Sure there'll be two resistances on an enemy so you shouldn't use those, but there's 11 other damage types (or so) that you can choose from. I promise, the game still isn't a bear even if you use a neutral damage glyph. I'm not familiar with your other reviews. Is music generally not discussed? It came up shortly with Ecclesia, but otherwise was absent from the others.
@@loscadu I generally don’t do traditional reviews, no. But if you want my opinion, then obviously all 3 of these games have 10/10 soundtracks. Honestly I don’t think music needs much discussion in a review besides “it’s great” or “it’s not that memorable” anyway. Regarding Ecclesia tankiness I’d say agree to disagree, but that’s fine! My reverse preference for it is only by a tiny margin anyway. But to elaborate on my opinion a little, regardless of how many or few resistances an enemy has, you’re going to have to switch loadouts, which is a massive pain before you get the Glyph Sleeve. As for why I went with melee weapons in most cases, I explained that in the video (high DPS, low mana cost). 11 other damage types are great, but until you have Nitesco, they’re rarely an efficient option.
Deep combat in the way that’s it’s mostly just random. Sure you can set up a deck to mitigate the luck it’s just a luck simulator. Pretty to look at but the novelty goes away after about 20 minutes
@@Sentina7 Did you actually watch the video? What did the opponent put in column 1? Did they buff? Then you have time to shield. Did they attack with a “damage all” chip? Then don’t bother with shields - go on the offensive with high HP chips. Now what will you attack with? Are they an elemental Navi? Are they not? You may have chips that deal bonus damage against them, but have lower accuracy. How is their evasion? Can you afford this? (Keep in mind that accuracy and evasion are extremely common turn based RPG stats.) Do they like equipping shields? If so, you’ll need shield breakers. Do you spend a slot on healing chips? Will those chips even survive? Are they using stun chips? If so, you won’t be able to rely on your buster skill, so you have to plan accordingly. It’s only a luck simulator as far as any deck builder is. If you build your folder correctly, then it’s a strategy game.
i would like to point out that in cyber sleuth digimons do talk but only some and always after winning a battle, but its missable since its in japanese and the main charcter might speak instead of them, i do agree tough that there should have been a more interactive communication with themespecially since they let us to some degree message with the digimon inside the farm
Out of the 3, Dawn of Sorrow remains my top pick while Portrait of Ruin is a comfortable second. I'm finally getting around to playing Order of Ecclesia thanks to the Dominus Collection, and it's good but way harder than the other two. Dawn gets a lot right, but my favorite part has to be the final battle against Soma in Julius mode. From the setting and battle itself to the epic Dracula theme, it's one of the best in the series
about the Varia suit: It is my understanding it is a translation error Adam's line read was supposed to be more along the lines of "Stop being so stubborn and activate it already" because it wasn't really a fucntion of her suit that needed to be authorized- this is something forshadowed in their dynmaic with her constant use of the "thumbs down". Samus was willfully neglecting the varia suit- which makes sense considering she's kinda a badass who knows she can survive stuff like this on a regular basis.... but Adam is the one who is kinda pissed off about it and just says "stop showing off and activate it already!"
btw I think a way to combat critism on the way you unlock the upgrades is if in a remake there is a "Difiance mode" where you are granted the ability to unlock any and all upgrades whenever you want after the boss fight where you get missiles- the trade off is instead of the post game you are treated to a cut scene of Samus being blacklisted from over working with the Galactic Federation ever again by a Galactic Federation tribunal saying that by refusing to await authorization and clearance on her upgrades from Adam she put the lives of would be survivors at risk. This is then followed up with a Voice over of Samus saying "If only I had followed Adam's advice then maybe I would have been the bounty hunter assigned to the BSL research team's expidition on SR388. I don't know why but I could never shake this feeling that I alone could stop the X uprising that destroyed the Galactic Federation and life as we once knew it..." I think giving us this power trip of a mode (maybe even instead of the final cutscene with MB we go straight to Phantoon- maybe because this powertrip mode resulted in the off screen deaths of MB and Madaline perhaps...) only to have this harsh reality thrown at us via the "bad ending" will give Other M's biggest critics a moment to say "okay I see why she waited for authorization now" because now they see what could have been. It also futher solidifies Other M as a Fusion Prequel which is what it has always been first and foremost by explaining that if Samus did things even slightly diffrently then she wouldn't have been able to save the day in fusion....
Tbh I hadn't really thought about it - not because I don't love those games to death, but because when I first produced these videos, the impetus was a relative lack of appreciation for the DS trilogy on youtube - something which Aria and Symphony just didn't suffer from in the same way prior to the release of the Dominus Collection. I'd never say never though!
11:12 Agree! I love the story- I think the VA for Samus needs a redub in a port or something but I love it I love Adam's Sacrifice in particular- the music and the framing of Samus flinching as he dies I also love how in Fusion the SA-X knows to blow up the Metroid research lab on the BSL because it has Samus's memories and knows Adam did this- Other M is very much a Fusion Prequel after all! A good Prequl adds additional context to elements- like the ridley corpse we see frozen in fusion- it is the one left over after the Queen Metroid is released
8:45 disagree All other times when she beat Ridley he didn't "die" so much as got knocked out or was at least left in a state where his body could be recovered so there was logic to his return. Super Metroid was the ONLY Exception- Ridley's body was left on a planet that was blown up soon after. There should have been no chance for recovery. This means Samus's panic attack to seeing a resurected Ridley is EXTREEMLY Justified! We only learn of cloning after this- the closest we had to cloning before this was mocktroids in Super Metroid. So yea- Samus having PTSD over the Ridley Clone is 100% justified because she didn't know cloning on this level was possible and the last time she saw Ridley his corpse was left on a planet that was blow to pieces soon after- no space pirates to Meta Ridley him back together like before....
Yeah this has since been brought to my attention :) In my defense, he's usually animated as vaguely exploding when he's defeated, so I really thought he was "dying" every time lol.
@@ThrillingDuck Aces glad we are on the same page! (yes it is a super easy mistake to make which is why I make the point of drawing attention to the fact that Super Metroid is the only time the planet he is on when you beat him is blown up shortly after wards)
o.o someone who shares my PoV? okay let's see what you got... *hover mouse over the like and subscribe buttons* for the record I do an annual Metroid Marathon from December 26th to December 31st with 1 metroid game streamed a day with Other M on New Years Eve as a celebration of my channel Reboot in 2015 about how good the game Other M (video rewatched prior to playing other m to bask in how far I've come and to further solidify my points going into the playthrough) so maybe check me out this year ;) I want to do a remake of that video if I reach monetization and if that goal is reached before the video's 10th anniversary I will release the remake on the 10th anniversary
What are you even talking about? Digimon world is the definitive Digimon game. The Pokemon games were not based on the anime the anime wad based on the Pokemon games. The Pokemon games predate the Pokemon anime likewise the v pets that Digimon are based on which were a tamagotchi clone are the basis for all of Digimon and it's the anime that does a poor job of being based on that. You're judging the incorrect thing. Also your calling the Digimon raising mechanic in world one of the worst gameplay mechanics of all time but it's your ability to do research that is one of the worst of all time because those mechanics are based on the v-pets that the franchise is based on. Digimon world is the definitive Digimon game. Raising your digimon with a temporary lifespan and starting over is the definitive mechanic. The anime even has it, you just didn't seem to notice. It came up both in the recent last evolution kizuna movies as well as the hurricane touchdown movie or just Digimon movie in the US but most notably in the anime itself with primary village. Bottom line here is, do your research before you make a video.
@@tsuchikarasu2 Read the pinned comment. Also I credited the V-Pet as the true origin in the video. Bottom line is, actually pay attention next time before you comment.
I been thinking of getting back into Digimon and it's been awhile since the third series and isn't it like a multiverse where certain rules apply to certain digimon worlds and they don't all follow a certain canon?
hey we dont know each other but i hope ur doing well and I wanna say that GOD still loves u and wants u to be with him all u must do is trust in Jesus (dying for our sins on the cross) and repent of ur sins. GOD loves u more than u can imagine.🎉😊❤❤
I still play Resident Evil 5, and I love that version of Jill more than any of the others. She's a strong, kind, caring, compassionate, feminine, warm woman whose very presence is calming. Also.... She was powerful and could kill you. I haven't played the new games. But from what I've seen. New Jill is VERY westernized. Loud, mean, foul-mouthed, masculine, toxic, crude, no compassion or empathy, just an overall insufferable character. There's something very attractive about a strong, powerful, but feminine and warm woman. And there's something equally repelling about a swing-d*ck feminist
Extremely late on this, but I agree. Playing RE3 remake would take me out of the game every time Jill would say the f word and/or flat out give someone so much attitude. It bothered me a lot and made me question the personality change.
I think the actual question should be why should there be a definitive digimon game? If a diablo-ist action rpg can be considered a digimon game why does it matter if digimon doesn't have a definitive game? i get that consistency is key but consistency is also what lead pokemon into a buggy cash grab of a game, right now digimon games problem isn't the quality of games but the quantity of it, Bandai just needs to release more digimon games
Your reviews helped me to decide to buy Dominus Collection. I'm having so much fun with it and just 100% completed Dawn of Sorrow last night. Thanks! 😄
I actually mentioned it briefly (along with Digimon Adventure PSP) towards the end of the video! That is exactly the idea - I just want to see it expanded into something more ambitious.
The original Digimon Adventure/Next Order (Haven't played the game but from how you describe it, it sounds similar) was the best game for me personally, but I agree that the death and rebirth system there makes the game unenjoyable. I honestly don't want a Digimon game where I catch 'em all because that's already on Pokemon. Digimon's basis is one on one instead of having as many as possible. I want a Digimon game where a single Digimon becomes my partner throughout the game, connected by our Digivice, without it dying from old age. AND LET MY DIGIMON PARTNER TALK TOO.
Pokemon has the better games? I won't have what he's smoking! Believe in Jesus, reject the Antichrist! Repent and believe! Reject the Mark of the Beast! (666!)
Why do the games need to adapt to the show when the show was initially an adaptation of the games? If anything is the show's fault to introduce concepts that strive away too much from the original vision. There's also not even a decent anime to base their games on right now. That good old "digimon is better for the anime" is not even true anymore, while pokemon games have been a regurgitation of the first ones so you can't say pokemon is a good game franchise either, unless it's the side games (ironically, the ones that resemble the show the less). I think the world series is the closest to the core concept of digimon, which is a monster breeding franchise. They should double down on its identity instead of becoming yet another rpg copycat.
They somehow made the Dominus Collection ports even better than the originals - and that says a lot. The triple screen setup, the high resolution music and sound effects along with controls that somehow have been made even more responsive. ❤ It’s a 10/10 for me. The new way to do the magic seals is perfect. Portrait of Ruin is so underrated. The extra modes are off the chart! Ecclesia is my personal least favorite of the trio, but still a fantastic game on its own.
