Hey, it's Onesto. This channel explores the latest plugins and gear that help keep our lives musical and creative. If that sounds interesting, consider subscribing! Can't wait to see you in the next video!
Good question. I think the term "sounds" and "presets" are the same thing here. When you buy either the 61 or 88 MK3, you get access to Analog Lab which is where all those presets/sounds are.
Hey thanks for the demo! Good stuff.. I'm using the demo version. do you think that's why even when I choose the Barbers preset, that my pitch and voicing parts of the ui are disabled? i'm in auto mode.. is there somethign i'm missing on how to get those ui elements enabled?
nice to see this review. im about to buy that one because I like my macbook screen and I don't really need something big. im not a piano player or a musician from musician school. I just like doing music and for me is perfect to play everything brick by brick instead or doing more stuff at the one time - about this what you said in first chapter. im not native English but I believe comments and likes brings channel up. thanks for video
You sound like a Native English speaker! I think a lot of what you said are great reasons to get a small MIDI keyboard like the M32. In fact, I think it's what most music makers should get before they get very serious about music. Thanks for watching, the comment, and like!
Good question, this keyboard does not have ports for an amp because it does not produce sound on it's own. Instead it sends a MIDI signal to a computer running some kind of program like a DAW, and the computer would then send sound to an audio interface, which is where you have your output ports. Hope that helps.
"Hi, I watched your tutorial where you show how to automatically split MIDI tracks into high and low strings using drag and drop. I'm also using Cubase 12 Pro and would like to export two separate tracks - one for the high strings and one for the low strings. However, it’s not working automatically for me. Are there any specific settings or instruments you’re using that allow Cubase to split it into two tracks? What might I be missing?"
It definitely is. And I think since this video was published, there's been improvements to get your tracks closer to your reference Thanks for watching!
Great question, it does not have built-in sounds. The moment a keyboard has those built-in sounds the price goes up, but if you're interested check out the Yamaha Reface series.
this vst is too complicated and before getting a correct sound you will spend your day fiddling with the buttons, immediately tested, immediately uninstalled. It's bullshit. Sorry but we producers need VSTs that sound from the first time and that make you want to exploit the sounds, now it's boring as hell
Great question, and you can export MIDI from Electric Mint. I made a video all about it and quickly show how to export MIDI here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SDk1tCE9V34.htmlsi=NS5E_AloZvAMjNpo&t=193
@@ThisIsOnesto Indeed. Great collection and for $99 upgrade from T-RackS 5 MAX V2, it is not bad at all, especially if you use some of the plugins regularly, but just so many plugins these days that it makes us think twice. :)
I believe there's still a free version, called Labs. And then there's a paid version called Labs +. I'm not entirely sure what the difference is, but I'm imagining you would get a few more features and even instruments. Not gonna lie, it's a bummer that there is now a paid version.
It's kind of both haha. From my experience, it depends on which version of Kontakt was used to make the Kontakt Library. So if a Kontakt Library was made with 7.5, then it is compatible for version 7.5 and newer. I'd be sure to check the product page to see which version of Kontakt it is compatible with.
Nice! Glad you got it at that super low upgrade price. It's a really good value for sure. It has every tool you could possibly need for mixing and mastering.
Hey, that's a great questions. For this keyboard, you'll want to connect it to your computer via USB, and then record with instrument plugins inside a DAW. Since this keyboard cannot produce sounds on its own, it will not be recorded through your Scarlett Solo.
Whatever I decide on for a main keys.. I'm gonna need a cheap small controller..for playing lead guitar and bending notes like Gilmour. I killed an expensive arranger by bending so many notes I wore down those groves in the plastic wheel...it eventually bent so bad it played out if tune. Do those touch strips bend notes well?..it's nice that there are no moving parts involved.
If you're looking to pitch bend guitars, I'd look into a keyboard with Aftertouch like the Keystep from Arturia. A lot of guitar VSTs do pitch bends with aftertouch or the Mod Wheel, and the Keystep can do both and it's super cheap.
Thanks, it's always great hearing from you! Yeah, the software integration makes the Kontrol MK3 a great keyboard. I recommend getting it brand new or second hand.
This was excellent in visual and audio presentation. As an ever learning musician always seeking knowledge, I have shifted my focus onto understanding and over standing sound design with“synths” recent years; in production. Always love the Rhodes, yet this took me somewhere. Bring to the neo soul movement so long, Rhodes wrote me out-age 54 now. This video however has enhanced my passion to explore the sound design in the application of the Rhodes- especially those last two in this video. ❤❤ I’ll stop now😂
Thanks so much for watching! To hear that this little video could help ignite some inspiration is the best news I can hear. I hope you never stop learning, getting inspired, and creating.
You can definitely get heavy CPU spikes with Kontakt 7, which is why it's a great idea to use the Purge button for large instrument libraries. It helps a ton.
If you're a beginner I would only recommend the Kontrol MK3 if you're very serious about music production. If you believe that you'll be committed to it for a few years that it's a great investment, it'll be hard to beat. However, if you just want to try out music production and aren't sure if you'll stick with it, then I recommend the Arturia Keylab Essential.
