I have no problem doing this on a practice hand. It’s relatively easy. Doing it on my own nails is a whole different story especially when using my non dominant hand.
@4:40 I want to add that too much is a bad thing and I love being in control of the bonding aspect. I personally do not need a bonder with my service using 1-Step. Adding bonders were they were not needed was actually causing some lifting issues. You chose the right tool for the job instead of attacking every problem with the same hammer.
I love the Jimmy gel formula.. But, I have to say, that one thing that makes me NOT use it as much as I want, is that it only comes in a bottle. I will choose the Lexy instead a lot of the time. Even if jimmy would be better. Or sorry to say, choose a soak off gel that’s not in a bottle. Because most of my clients has length. And the bottle application takes too long. But for a manicure it is suuuper! The best. ❤ by far. But I really hope that it will come in containers like Lexy too 😉 Pretty pleeeease 🪴❤️
I always feel like the odd one out. 1 step and fiber are my faves. 1 step because I prefer a thinner viscosity for overlays. I always wish 1 step came in more colors.
In theory, you could apply P+QDbase and cure, but we would still recommend applying a thin layer of JimmyGel before applying the full cover tips. The P+ QDbase could make the soak off time faster if you planned to soak the tips off.
It’s hard for me to use these forms because they are thinner and bend easy and I end up getting a more flat surface instead of curved , any suggestions?
The new MAXForms are extra firm and should make creating a c-curve extremely easy when applied correctly! We would recommend watching these helpful videos to ensure you are using them properly: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0ATAYQjSILg.htmlsi=HkG2xTIIzraMw5Rv and part 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OhUEq45le8k.htmlsi=kQ6SkrLKrLieAtv0
On my thumbs i don't like such a sharp curve when you pinch in the form all the way, I have a small brush cap I use to stick the pinch sides to up under my thumb. Feels odd but the curve turns out custom to my thumbnail every time I use forms
Thank you for doing informational videos like this because it gives me great information about your products. I'm new to your line and I'm enjoying learning more and more about your products and company. I'm a nail enthusiast and data analyst so the more information that is given helps me make informed decisions about which products to use and how to use them. Thanks again for these info videos.
I noticed y'all wipe sticky inhibition from the top AND bottom of the sample - is that worrisome if even a "fully cured" gel leaves sticky layer on the nail plate?
Hi Stinabina - this is an excellent question. We wipe the bottom of the gel for measuring purposes only incase there is any uncured gel on the sample. This removes the uncured gel from the sample and avoids getting gel on our measuring tool when we are checking for the maximum cure thickness, there is always uncured gel on the underside of the gel in some location.
Jimmy jelly’s would be amazing! ❤ thank you for these lives, I’m a diy nail girly and I’m so glad I discovered your brand and educated myself about HEMA and other poorly manufactured products before I ever developed an allergy!
We suggest applying with a slip layer + dollop technique and be sure to set your apex where it needs to be to support the length of the nail! When using proper nail structure techniques the nail should be thin at the cuticle, include an apex to provide support and thin at the free edge (about the thickness of a credit card). Hope this helps!

I absolutely love the Jimmy Jelly concept. Also, I love this free for all q&a as well as when you deep dive on a certain product. I'd like to keep both in rotation 😅
Will fibre ever come in the 120ml tubes? I'm making the transition from acrylic to hard gel, and fibre has worked best for some of my heavy handed girls, as opposed to my fav cool gel or extreme 😂. So would love fibre in the 120ml
There are many different types of builder gel. This is our JimmyGel Builder Gel in a Bottle and it does soak off, unlike our hard builder gels from the Lexy Line that need to be filed off for removal!
Love this format for lives! Makes it super easy to ask and quick to ask questions that are always popping up! Thank you for doing this! Always looking forward to these :) I do have two quick questions: so it’s confirmed that the collections will only be coming out every 6 months from this point on? And, could you share what LE shades you’re sporting because both of your nails always look amazing!
Great live ladies. Regarding the concern about soaking off gel polish damaging nails, it's actually a common misconception. Doug Schoon conducted an experiment where a nail clipping was left in acetone for weeks without any adverse effects-it doesn't 'eat away' at your nails but rather dehydrates them. The key is to properly rehydrate your skin and nails afterward to maintain their health.
Hi Marta - the damage to the fingernail when soaking isn't from the acetone. Acetone itself will not damage the fingernail and is actually not very harmful aside from removing oils from the skin. The damage occurs from the preparation of the fingernail after removing the gel polish. After each removal, the fingernail is buffed or abraded to prepare the fingernail for another application of gel polish. Each time the fingernail is prepared with a file, it becomes thinner and more subject to increasing flexibility and decreasing the strength of the fingernail. After 4 applications and buffings, the free-edge of the fingernail is much thinner than it is originally. This is the source of the damage. It is my opinion that if the client will return to a salon for color applications, either a hard gel color or nail polish would be best suited for that person. In the case of a hard color gel, the fingernail is only prepared once with a file and unless the base layer is completely removed by injury, the fingernail is not touched by a file again. In the case of nail polish, the surface of the fingernail is smoothed with a buffer and the polish is applied. Subsequent applications require very little smoothing of the fingernail and as such, only a very fine layer of the fingernail is buffed again. Almost no damage is done to the fingernail over the course of 3-4 months.
@@jimmcconnell6079 @jimmcconnell6079 Precisely - acetone itself doesn't cause damage, but the preparation the nail technician must do can. Just wanted to clear that up for anyone listening and misunderstanding.
At this point in the service, I usually use a nylon nail brush instead of wipes. I feel like the brush can get in the nooks better. Would there be any advantage to the wipes instead at this stage (using the LE ckeanser either way)?
So long as the brush is clean (no dust, debris, oils, soap scum, ...), then a brush is fine. I prefer to use our LEPro Wipe and our LEPro Cleanser. It has not let me down yet.
I agree on the cleanser and wipes. I don't want to brand bash, so I will leave the name out, but in salon we were using a different cleanser (not alcohol or DIY) and clients would come back with missing nails after just 2 weeks. We switched that cleanser out for LE (same everything else, not LE products either) and the lifting stopped! I LOVE your wipes because the other "lint free" ones leave fibers everywhere and they end up in my gel polishes and topcoat. 😫 I fight fuzz balls at every service and I hate it. Next year I will booth rent so I can use the supplies I want. 😊
That's so amazing to hear, thanks for sharing! The quality of your products do matter and can make all the difference in your services and result in happier clients too!
For this particular video, she did cleanse, buff and then apply Super Shiny to show off the shine! Typically, you do not need to cleanse the LE color/glitter before applying Super Shiny!
It is hard to say without knowing what products you are using or your exact prep steps and lamp, but we would recommend checking out this video here for our recommended nail prep routine! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-F12ZjGhN0kQ.htmlsi=ynsyTo2HUYOhE2IN
