Just did this on my Acura Integra. It is true. With everthing (harness, dash in car) this is not as easy to do. Also true, manual and auto throttle cable (connection at the pedal) are different. Helpful tips: disconnect the brake light switch (before you begin unbolting assembly). You do not need to undo the brake booster lines, come out to the engine bay and pull it way gently (careful to not bend the hardlines). Lastly, lock up your steering and drop the column. Its helpful if you have a second person to sustain the column a bit. Hope this helps someone. This is how I converted the entire assembly over to manual.
hey man great video it helped me do mine this weekend im almost finished. Do i need to get a manual ECU or is the auto one fine to run? Are you driving with the auto and its fine?
It's really stupid, that the stupid Mercedes driver in this video is so stupid, that they did not realise their stupidity, such that they come back and cut you off as if you were the one at fault 😕
@@forcarssake that's fair enough, I'm doing a manual swap either way. Just was curious if it was possible to get a hand from someone who's done it before and even pay for the extra hand. Thanks anyway though Keep up the content!
Hey, I’m not sure what your budget is, but Innovative mounts makes a good auto to manual conversion mount kit for your setup. It’s a little pricey but I hope it helps.
I have a question, man; I am planning on doing a b series and manual swap in my Ek at the same time. I was wondering about the mounts for the transmission. Would I still need to get the torque mount and top mount for a manual? I am assuming I need to get the top mount and torque mount from the b series transmission or do the d series manual mounts (top mount and Torque Mounts) fits the b series transmission.
Oi I got a question I watched this whole video to see how you handled that upper trans mount. Are you running without it? I have this project coming up for a friends 97 ek and it’s also an HX. So we got the frame Mount piece from the junkyard and then we will drill the frame and put in the nut inserts so it’s like the every other ek chasis. Hopefully 🤞
Because in order to do that I will need to undo the brake booster and I wanted to avoid that. On top of that the throttle cable is different between the auto and manual. So to do the job right you kind of need the manual throttle as well
Exactly what I need, but don't want to leave grease mark from the water everywhere. Did you park the car on a concrete surface ? Where the water go to, gutter drain ?
Congrats on the swap. I recommend you get that auto brake pedal changed out for a manual one. Most believe you have to change the entire brake and gas pedal assembly to do it, but you can really get away with changing out the brake pedal only and keeping the same gas pedal. I did it that way and it wasn't bad at all, and i've never had problems with doing it that way
