As part of the project EK VTi sedan, I am starting to fix up the car! The first thing I am doing is replacing the wheel stud that has been snapped off. In most cars, it’s actually quite an easy job to replace the wheel stud off the front knuckle/upright, but it’s definitely NOT the case in the EG or EK Civic. It took me approximately 3.5 hours to do the wheel stud and I just don’t understand why this 4x100 242 and 262 mm hub design is like the way it was. From my experience Honda’s have always been great with engineering with maintenance in mind but the engineers really seem to have dropped the ball on this one!
I really hope this video has helped you and inspired you to get more hands on with your cars! Some of the key tough moments I had was removing the two little screws holding the rotor, hammering the hub out of the assembly, and then putting it back into the knuckle.
