You missed playing the original release, with your friends. In a guild with your friends and the stories you collectively made. Never mind the official story, what I did with my friends travelling along in the journey from level 1 to 60/70/80 was the best element in wow. Different characters with silly names, roleplaying sometimes, getting into all sorts of trouble (our entire alliance guild atop the auction house in Orgrimmar was fun). Being the first Gnome to ride a cat... Let's face it they were meant to ride cats!
I started watching the series when i was going through something really hard. all i could do at that time was play runescape and watch youtube. Byrelease felt like a safe space for me to unwind and get away from everything and laugh. There are certain by release songs i still listen to every week because they motivate me. i got my max cape watching your videos jimbo. Cheers to the next one brother. Thanks for all the fish.
42:12 a lot of the restricted game mode content I've seen wouldn't actually work if it was hard restricted at the server level because they rely on things like luring in enemies from other parts of the game.
Deposit boxes would be much more usefull when placed around the world outside of banks. When next to a bank there's really no point of it being there anyways
Theres haven and hearth, as oddball as it is, i was drawn in by its rs-esq aesthetic but it suffers from some unique problems, mainly its open form pvp and lack of moderation leading to it being easily dominated by toxic players.
Jimmy there are thousands of people playing rs private servers.... why not get a cut from it for Jagex. official servers are 100% better than anything PS can offer.
Was Chromie Time ever advertised as a way to "experience the past expansions"? I always thought it was just a way to give more varied options leveling up to current content
obviously 90% of osrs aren't PvP its hard to justify putting this to a vote and expecting it to pass. Know your audience people. I mean why? I just can't understand unless its content theyre going to release any way and this is just a precursor
@39:50 ".. similar to leagues. .." I don't know about that. Theoretically, the community server could disable some things and enable other things, as well as add other content, to the point that the server becomes BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL. Mods and custom games from various games prove that they become the reason people continue to play those games.
Sorry J1mmy but you're wrong on Project Zanaris. You're likely only bashing it because it's a threat to your job as a youtuber for the main game. Second of all, the name is dope. Don't hate on the fairy realm. Third, giving mod/dev tools and creative mode for OSRS is literally gonna make the main game barren. Why play the main game with atrocious drop rates and grinds intended to keep you addicted, when you can actually have fun and tweak rules to your liking? Checkmate, cant wait to see all the private server haters signing up and pretending like they didn't hate on it. Cannot wait for it; never touching the main game again when it drops
i absolutely dont get why people are so against community servers...i see so much potential and no down sides...i can even see somebody making something absolutely insanely fun and it potentially being put into main game..."worse case" the servers are shit...nobody cares about them and they die...and if that happens ...well nobody would care anyways
I wonder what the player base would be like if EoC had never been launched. RuneScape might have even been entirely dead for other reasons. 🤷🏼♂️ who knows.
Okay, so I am a VERY casual osrs player. I do have an active subscription, but i log in only a few times a month, for only a few hours max, and just do my low level content. I figured one day id make it further eventually lol. I do occasionally keep up with the osrs news, but i never bother to vote in the polls because i dont feel like i really deserve a say vs the people that *actually* play osrs. I typically play when my wife is watching tv or something like that. Sometimes i play on my laptop or iPad while i watch long youtube videos as well. I like to play when I watch PK videos (people risking tons of gp makes me sweat lol) or videos on community lore. (Such blue rose, phatwrecked, the falador massacre, etc. so its just fun to play along for an hour or two while i listen/watch the videos haha.) I’ve thought to myself for YEARS about how cool private servers would be so I could do EXACTLY what j1mmy said and boost exp and drop rates. My reasoning is that i LOVE questing. But theres a lot of quest ive never done and it will take me years to get to. Im SOOOOOOOOO excited for this so I can actually do the content i never got to as a kid, and especially the new content added in osrs. As a kid i got to like 90 combat and had maybe 30 mil max. Currently I’m like level 60 combat and only have one 99 (cooking lmfao) I’m just really excited to be able to do the quests and bossing that ive never done before. But what really blows my mind is the community creations. I’m imagining the osrs version of Halo 3 custom games that we had back in 2008! Those were good times. And idk if anyone is going to be crappy and tell me go get good and grind….i do….just really slowly and at my own very slow pace. I play runescape to relax and feel some nostalgia. I have a wife, a career, and am in grad school. I spend a lot of my free time playing other games. I play a lot of the big releases every year, both AAA and indie games and everything in between. I often “game hop” as my wife calls it where i will play a game partially through, and then switch to something else, and then come back and finish it like a year or two later lol. My point is my time is spread thin and im just never going to be dedicated enough to get to late game osrs, so this is really cool for me. But yeah, the private servers are definitely great for people like me, people who played as a kid but refuse to grind it out again, or new players that just see it on youtube or twitch or whatever.
Something id really like is quests that have different paths depending on quests you have done before. For example if i have done Fairy tale part 2 maybe i can just use a Fairy ring to infilitrate a castle but if i havent i need to sneak around and do stealth stuff.
