One means I’ve used as a mold release for fiberglass is to paint on a thin coat of molten wax and then warm the finished part once it’s done. It comes off easy, then.
I'm in the market for a new JD and didn't realize even the hood was cheapened up! This LA series is one big piece whereas the new S models are even thinner and 3 piece snap together. The hood holder hinge also is plastic instead of a high gauge steel!
Awesome build , I'm building one now and I'm just wondering did you make most all of your custom parts or buy them? I got a 6" frame extension butbl the original frame and the new piece dont sit flush so I'm having to bondo fill it ....I'm trying to hide all the screws as well where I can but did you make your fame cover plate ?

You will probably eitger want to make a motor spin a threaded shaft to open and close or use hydraulic cylinder. Direct servo control would likely be to weak to hold close with a load.
I do not have the time at the moment. Im really busy making commisioned 1/64 die cast customs. Im not sure what I would charge at the moment. Prices have gone up drastically since I built this. I'd rough guess around $1k though. It takes a lot of time.
I used the one in this link. I stripped the drive side until it was just a bare crank. I don't remember what all that entailed. Probably some drilling, grinding, and hammering though. SHIMANO Tourney FC-TY501 Crankset a.co/d/eAN3Hew

Good job u got to it before I did planning something super similar with my lowrider trike only with subs in the bags hybrid gas electric plus built in rear facing back seat
Just to be clear, the only seal on the roof side is the foam that comes with unit? Mine is a 2016 & I was in the roof yesterday checking all sealant around openings. Should the factory seal be sufficient over time? It should I add something?
