I have the C380 model 2023 model. It doesn't have the suspension seat post, but they have upgraded the front fork and it has the Kiox 300 display, plus extra torque on the performance line motor.
This is true! Most manufacturers now use the terms "high-step", "mid-step" and "low-step" when referring to frame styles. Every rider has different needs and you can ride happy on the e-bike frame style that works best for you.
Hello! There isn't really a best mode, only a best mode for you. Depending on your commute, the hills, the wind, your fitness and/or desire to get a workout, you can choose what feels best. The only time you'd really need to move into the lower power modes is to increase your battery range. Happy Riding!
@ccederlo, so glad you like it! I built it using a collapsible crate (Uline model S-15609 or S-21123 should work), a 1/4 inch plywood bottom plate, some custom 3D printed quick release mounting clips, and Tern Sidekick Joyride Bars for extra stability. If the quick release isn't a priority, bolting one of these crates to the HSD rack would also be super functional as you can fold the crate down to carry larger loads! - Haney
Hey there, thanks for reaching out! The Thule Easyfold XT2 (one of our favorite racks!) has reflectors on the ends of the bike trays and has a spot to mount your license plate on the end of the rack so it's not obscured while carrying bikes. Here in the US the Easyfold doesn't come equipped with lights but there are a couple of aftermarket options should you want to mount a light where the license plate goes! Here's a link to Beacon Bike Rack Lights that could work for you bikeracklight.com/product/thule-easyfold-bike-rack-light-bar/#description, otherwise there are racks like the Kuat Piston Pro or Saris Door County with lighting systems incorporated!
I'm seriously thinking of ditching my vehicle for a bike. But the choices and unknown factors are staggering and frequently insanely expensive. Many of these bikes cost more than my van. Are these bikes capable of bikepacking? is one or the other better at towing a trailer? has anyone tried putting a recumbent seat on the rear rack to make an upright into a recumbent? I'm looking at a recembent trike and cargo bikes as a way to adventure with a trailer in tow for camera gear and food. I'm also over 50 and would definitely want e-assist.
Thanks for the questions! Ebikes as vehicle replacements is something we're super passionate about. Both long tail and front loader bikes serve very well in the vehicle replacement aspect albeit with a few differences. From a trailer hauling standpoint the R&M Load4 family and Tern GSD are fantastic in that department as they have a specific portion of the frame designed for trailer towing. The Tern GSD has the Captain's Chair accessory for the rear portion of the bike. As far as converting any of these bikes to recumbent I'm not aware of anyone that's tried but it may be possible. The Load4 60 and 75 have huge cargo areas up front which puts your gear between the wheels for a very solid ride feel and you can have quick access to your camera equipment. The Tern GSD can have cargo accessories both behind the rider as well as a front rack that could serve your situation well. Both of these bikes are dual battery capable and you can always bring additional batteries should you need more range! All of these bikes feature the robust Bosch pedal assist system so you can tackle the hardest climbs and terrain! If you're looking for off road/adventure capability the Load4 has the GX option for off road tires as well as full suspension! Will resetting the trip miles on the purion display also reset the Total miles to zero? Can that even be reset or is total miles more like a car odometer so someone cannot lie about the total miles on the bike if selling it? Just wanting to make sure the used bike I look to buy would really have only the miles the seller says it has.
I did a test ride with the C8 version of them both at the local Gazelle test centre. I much preferred the Arroyo because of it's more nimble handling and lighter weight. The Avignon has the better and more modern look but riding characteristics are more important to me. They are both absolutely majestic comfy bikes. I ended up buying a Arroyo (called Grenoble where I live) for both me and my girlfriend.
I notice the spare tire on the back. Did you need the Thile hitch extender to fit this EZfold? I have an older CRV with the spare on the back and want to know if i need it. I dont think I will since its not a huge jeep tire.
Hey there, great question! The Easyfold XT 2 sits about 12" away from the receiver when locked into place. I'm not sure where your receiver is located on the CRV (they can be semi hidden under the bumper sometimes), but you might be able to make it work without an extender. If not, there's another extension we've had great results with from Kuat, the Hi-Lo Pro that still retains the hitch stabilization feature that the rack has. That way your rack can be wobble free and leave plenty of space to access the back of the vehicle. Hope that helps!
Such a good point, Frederic! The Tern Storm Shield is an absolute must if you and your passengers want to get out in the cold and wet. Thanks for your comment!
Hey Barrie! We're in Hood River and it's an EXCELLENT spot to come for a visit. We even have our favorite eMTB and paved/gravel routes for you to follow with turn by turn directions so you can ride the best of the best. We hope to see you soon!

Hey Team ... a little late to the party on this video, but a quick question on the Thule -- will it handle road bikes or city cruises that have a much narrower tire footprint? Thank you!
This is a super fun video. I love it. If I had a bike shop and access to all of the different models, I would be making videos every day on them so kudos.
