I don’t know why yt god has decided I need to hear this but here I am. Many of the things u discuss hold truth. Great artist who made it this far are playing a different game, I think mainly because of AI.

Thank you for your channel. I am interested to build something but I am intimidated and question my capacity to do so. I get frustrated sometimes because I am dependent for men to do stuffs which I think women can also do. I wish that women can be exposed about these things at an earlier age. I am not that strong physically and so please continue to have more of these videos that will encourage women like me. I am taking notes so I can eventually buy all the needed tools you are recommending. More Power!

i graduated from Architecture 2 years ago, I was an active artist during my student days and i earned a good amount of money and follows with my art . however after graduating I was unsure what to do, so like everyone I got into an architecture job rat race. and it felt like hell for me, low pay, over time almost everday ,no overtime free,low salary( I used to earn 2x more as a student that I earn by doing a proper job). I lost all my art clients and followers. I was severely depressed . last month I suddenly snapped and quit as this isn't letting me any time to continue my art. I quit Architecture to pursue art. Everyone is telling me this is a terrible decision but i am so traumaized by architecture I never wanna go back again. I'm slowly trying to restart my art career but having difficult to do so as 1 year of architecture job kinda killed the artist in me. But I am trying to revive again. i was severly depressed when this video came to me, Your video acted as a therapy for me. Now I am feeling hopeful again that I can restart my art career .Really thank you for this video. Don't know what the future holds but I want to take the leap of faith to becoming a full time artist ( Even though dangers of AI taking over Artist's jobs is looming ever closely )

I have an impact driving but it’s not doing the job when it comes to drilling into concrete and brick. I read or watched something that suggested a hammer driver instead. Is this over kill, should I be more patient with the limitations drivers when drilling to these materials. Just takes a looooong time. Even with the right drill bit.
@louisd95714
@louisd95714 3 месяца назад
Unless if you just need to drill a small number of holes you need either a hammer drill or a rotary hammer to drill into concrete. An impact driver is not designed fr that. As a matter of fact, you might even break the impact driver if you try it with concrete.

I´m in my first year of being a junior architect, and I´m so underwhelmed unfortunately. It´s been anti-climatic. (and I wanted to be an architect since grade 6, school was great but work...?). My goal is to be a full time artist on the long term. This video is perfect thank you!

Freshman class is 100. You graduate with 25, 75% failure rate. Out of the 25 that graduate less than half get their license. Of the registered architects, many get the hell out of this profession. I have been in business for 36 years, registered architect for 44 years. My main goal as an architect was to make a profit, and go as fast I could possibly go. I did not dilly dally over the design of the front door. I did not spend 90% of the fee on design. I soon realized most people don’t care what the building looks like, only architects care. The BIGGEST problem with architecture is it too tied to the economy. No money to spend no need for an architect. There are other ways to make a living. One other problem is most see an architect as a draftsman who makes blue prints. You better be in the top 5 of your class or get out ASAP.

You speak a deep and painful truth of the profession. You eather work fast and have at minimum 4 projects going at the same time or get the hell out fast 😂

You suck as an architect that’s why you say that. I bet you’re not creative at all. In order to be a great architect you need to have knowledge and an imagination. But you clearly lack that. And I bet the stuff you design already sucks.

Great video. Very succinct. I am an architect and artist/photographer. I thought I had to get a large following to get work. I to would like to make as much money with art as I do being an architect. I also love Yinka!!! This next year I’m working towards my goal of becoming a full time designer/artist. Best of luck to you! 🙏🏿

Hi there. I graduated in both dips of the double dip recession in 2008. It was brutal. I have a folder of 100s of rejections (back then you applied with physical cvs!) It all worked out for me. And it will work out for you too. Remember, careers are a marathon, not a sprint. You got this. ❤️

Hello! I graduated from architecture this year and the industry is simply not for me. I love your video and 100% agree with your point about architecture setting our artistry apart. I'm really glad I learned the concepts and theories about space/circulation/structure, developing a good "architectural eye" and being capable to see my day to day life differently and artistically. Much love, and I appreciate seeing videos as honest as this one.
