Welcome to Catching Fins! This is where I get to share the fishing adventures and teach you what I've learned from over 50 years on the water. My goal is to bring you fun, entertaining, and informative content as you join me on my trips in search for fish along with the occasional review of products I use for my adventures.

Would this become over gross if the kayaks are full of water? I’m thinking of driving or being parked in the rain. This will vary with kayak model of course. My Corolla rack is only good 164 pounds. 90 pounds of 2 kayaks only leaves me available for about 9 gallons of water. While this generally isn’t an issue for most, it is a calculation to consider before a problem occurs. Now I need to figure out how much water my kayaks actually hold🤔
I imagine it’s possible. Weight capacity is 500 lbs. (350lbs upper bar) so a kayak full of water may exceed that. My sit on top kayaks have scupper holes for water to drain out of so never been a concern for me.
It’s the historical Naples Pier. Last I heard there was some damage from a hurricane a while back so maybe it’s closed for repairs? It had been there for like a hundred years or so I think.

I wish I had put my motor in the pod when i bought it in 2016 . I have only had the motor in for about 4 years . The motor and downriggers have put my kayak fishing to a whole new level . My catches on salmon , steelhead and more have doubled easy .
Can’t leave valuables in the bed in a hotel parking lot overnight for instance. All you need is a wire coat hangar. Bend it into a hook and feed it through the tailgate gap, grab the latch cable, pull and its open. Thats a downer for me.
