C'mon the two first techniques were from aikido :D and they don't work on standing people. The 2nd thing is that you were doing sankyo on bad side of your partner ofc that it doesn't work.. If you want blaming something do you homework and study a little bit You lost my attention after these first 30 seconds, since you do not know what you are blaming about.. you are just going with the culture "blame first and show them how I am right" ffs
As we practice,we start to become aware of the attacker / opponent's energy changing to a particular limb, indicating a strike is coming from that source 😮
Valid point. I have trained many people and very few of them have natural athletic ability. There are some people who have coordination levels that are significantly better than your average person. Those people tend to learn natural punching without having to go through the other steps. On the other hand I often get people who need to learn a structure first. Most of the time it takes these people years to relearn their body so they can throw off a ridged structure and just move naturally I try to teach everyone according to the abilities they bring in. Everyone is different and should be taught accordingly.
WTF is this nonsense doing in YT feed? I mean, all those World champion boxers, they NEVER trained their 'punches', right? They just got into the ring, and let natural talent do it's job... OMG, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Yep bro I try use types techniques punch but my punch no to strong but I punch with my natural emotions my punch have more power and i use technique 20% in punch and exercise full muscle to increase power and speed
genius ! that is so true ... tendons are the springs open fascia is the transference of energy and intention is the director some call it internals no need to wait till your old though 😀great chanal !
Master Ken would be proud of the flying one to the chest padding. I like that you don't take yourself too seriously and you can apply the principle in a silly way just for fun. Thank you also for flat-out saying that this is a set-up and not a finisher. Those flow drills are a great way to practice this and feeling where the anatomy naturally fits into the opponent/partner's anatomy.
This is exceptional. Very recently, my teacher has been telling me basically the same thing. Like, instead of thinking about generating outward force, that I should think of the tension as being like a drawn string on a bow and then the punch is the releasing of the string and the arrow just flies out. I also appreciate how you tlk about being able to keep the arm tight to the body. It's so sad when you see people with real power doing this Rock'em Sock'em Robot fighting (or just reverting to clinching) when they get too close to each other.
Good stuff. In a clinch situation, this is how a smaller person can overcome a bigger stronger opponent. This kind of strike is normally unexpected and that is why it can work.
Joint locks and manipulations are very effective irl, but you're in for a bad day yourself if you're not fast, accurate, and skilled in follow-up techniques.
Aye i feel like this was made for me. I have this little delusion,of body strikes being the next step in striking martial arts. A way to damage just by running into someone, that can be chained with punches or elbows more easily, and it could be real useful in self defence situations.
I have actually never boxed, but I have watched boxers do similar things. I think the more relaxed you are the more natural it is. Tense guys tend to be more jerky and it is harder for them.
No, even though I truly love Wally Jay's work, it's not related. Straight circle just means that all elements of martial arts are a interplay of linear and circular movements. That includes strikes, joint locks and kicks. Also, generally with footwork it is taught linear, then angles, then circular. Straight circle isn't a style, it's just a place to play with similar concepts from most of the styles I have come across. Instead of arguing who is best I like to show things that can be incorporated into most styles.
One MUST in a threatening situation be able to IMMEDIATELY turn on that Kill Switch. Half commitment is NO commitment & will get you killed. You had better be fueled by PURPOSE & driven by INTENT.
Lots of the time, defenders will just move the 1 foot and forget the 2 nd foot, the trailing leg, which stops us from moving into a 3 rd,4th footwork, thanks for highlighting 👍
