50,000 yards a year playing today's rules. The one today that EVERYBODY copies. Played semi pro in Pisspuke idiots, not Baltimore. Why the mispronunciation??? Best qb ever.
The big thing with Johnny Unitas is that the only thing he cared about was winning the game. He didn't really care about statistics. Winning was the thing with him.
Yes, and he didn’t much care about his accolades. He walked off the field immediately after that Ameche rush TD. It was just a matter of fact, though important to him.
Johhny U was the best. He was like Babe Ruth or Arnold Palmer. The stats have been surpassed but those men had an influence on their sports that surpasses everyone. I lived in Maryland when I was 4 years old. From 54 to 69. The NFL was nothing till Unitas. I saw every Colt game that was on TV and would watch CORRALING TO COLTS religiously. The BUZZ you would hear at opposing stadiums when in the 4th quarter and the Colts came on to the field is something I have never heard since. It wasn't a cheer/boo or just plain yelling. It was a buzz of every person in the stands saying to each other "look out here he comes. The Colts won more games than ANY team from 56 to 70. Everybody has their opinion and I respect that but NOBODY was Johhny U. Joe Ryan
sam huff always said without hesitation that jim brown was the toughest running back he ever had to tackle. as a redskins fan, i've always wondered if we could have gotten jim brown for ernie davis, instead of bobby mitchell and a first rounder. but paul brown probably wasn't that stupid.
Hard to compare players from different eras. But I bet he would find the going a bit tougher in modern era. Btw Marion Motley had the highest yards/run in NFL History. Yeah lotsa slow small white guys on defense back then.
Give me one season in their prime I’m taking Randy Moss but Rice certainly is the greatest for playing at the level he did for so long. He worked hard for it. I’m sure Randy did too but he blessed with more talent.
Rice looked good because Joe/Steve were the best QBs in the NFL for many a year. Rice was not very athletic, nowhere near as was Randy Moss for example, or Antonio Brown before he went crazy and frankly, wouldn't be in my top 5 in todays' NFL, dominated by athletic tight ends and swift slot revivers. He has also turned out to be a miserable whiner in his later years.
Was a never a forty miner fan but I did respect them , Ronnie Lott was one of favorite ❤️ almost time , I still remember mark bavaro taking him for a ride that was a sign my giants had arrive , miss those football 🏈 days were football 🏈 was a mens game , not the softball they play now days 😮😢
Ronnie Lott loved the game of football he wasn't happy if he was not hitting guys with that extra effort that the crowd says wow. What a hard hit that was!! And that's what Ronnie love the game that much more. He would tackle like he wanted to destroy his rivals otherwise he wasn't happy feeling like he was not giving his all!!

I don't know Football but all I heard was Reggie White. He was G.O.A T. Plus well known when church caught fire. Unsolved Mysteries did segment. They only did 5 Black cases. We remember!
