i had the vincent 237 mkll about a week ago . It played wonderfully for about ten minutes and then it broke down . the right speaker would shut down at higher volumes and or triple in sound suddenly. i thought it would destroy my speakers ,so i traded it in for a Marantz model30 . the main difference to me was in the ' depth of the sound stage . both were very clear with good separation in between the speakers , but the vincent had a sense of 'depth ' where one was immersed into the sound , while the Marantz was like a wall of sound in front of me that would not let me enter into that space at any volume . i kept the marantz because i couldn't risk another episode where my speakers might be ruined by the faulty vincent . i'm sure this is a rare event but ?
Obviously late to this but I only just saw it now. I wish I could hear this stuff in person as listening through youtube is prob meaningless. For my ears the differences were so minimal it's hardly worth noting. I love music and I have a headphone collection. I've tried several DAC/AMP combos and the differences again, are minimal at best... If money wasn't an issue I would prob try the more expensive gear but from what I've read and heard for myself....a dac is a dac is a dac.

Yeah but is there a way to open Foobar2K on PC remotely? Otherwise the Wake on Lan function seems kinda useless if I gotta get up and go to my PC anyway
Hi mate, i don’t think so. I already gave my ares 2 to a friend long time and kept terminator and pontus2. Way back before when it was the original pontus when i compared it to ares2, they are close but yeah not anymore with the latest versions.

As you hold both Ekta MKII & 7741, could you please share your valuable inputs on which is best at what areas. what improvements we see as we move from Discovery tweeter to illuminator Tweeter series. also from 1 7" to dual 7" woofers. or MKII is better and preferred? thanks in advance.
Hi to my ears the big difference is the bass while the high is a little bit more lush bit just a little bit than ekta and mid are just the same. This is what i am looking for anyway a speaker that sounds like ekta but with more powerful bass. Thanks
@@asedillo1 thanks for the quick reply. May I ask: what made you make 2 models and how would you describe the differences? I have been looking at his page for ages but I cannot decide between all the options. One day I think a 3WC must be the one to go, then I am not willing to get another pair of nice stands and think why not make a floorstander... And a few days later I wanna go with a nice 2 way stand mount because it's easier to build and maybe even better for small rooms. Maybe you can tell me a bit about the differences between the two. Thanks!
@@PeterPan-lx1zb SBA has better bass IMO while ekta mkII have better mid to my ears. Now with the new 741 I can get a better bass with good mid. All of them sounds great. I am using ekta to my smaller room. SBA to my other entertainment room which I use for nearfield listening.
Double disappointment. First off, midrange on axis is not listening level, tweeter on axis is, and second, I expected a frequency response measurement too...
I know this post is 3 years ago but I'm seriously considering The Terminator for my Luxman 509x. Are you still using it after all these years? What are you impressions of the dac match with your luxman?
Hi! I'm interested in doing this. Have you measured somehow the frequency range? . In my playlist there are some drum&bass tracks and some not necessarily audiophile music. I'm wondering how low the bass goes, do you have any idea?

Teo: Another great speaker build. The 7741's sound great but it's hard to compare the sound on RU-vid between the 7741 and the Etka mkii's (you've mic'd them differently). I'm sure the 7741's have improved bass but to my ear the Ekta mkii's sound more coherent more pure. Again that could be just how you've recorded them. But it could be more than that. A different cross over could yield a different directivity index (off axis sound). To your own ear, do the 7741's match the ekta's in the vocals?
Hi mate, thanks for watching. I prefer the 7741 in all aspects now. On first few hours of using it, the bass is already the obvious improvement but the mids are not too great yet until it fully breaks in. I remember having the same thing with ekta when i first built it, it took quite some time for it to fully open up.
Do winyli to jest gramofon, przedwzmacniacz i wzmacniacz i na tym koniec. Jak ktoś potrzebuje DAC do winyli to lepiej niech sobie kupi płytę CD. Wyjdzie dużo taniej. Jak można analog przepuszczać przez cyfrówkę żeby na wyjściu znowu mieć analog. To jest profanacja dźwięku.
Gdzieś czytalem że w D50 można sobie samemu zmieniać wzmacniacze operacyjne bo są zbudowane na stopkach. I przy takich zmianach można poszukiwać dla siebie najlepszego dźwięku. Czy to prawda jest z tą możliwością zamiany wzmacniaczy operacyjnych ? A D30+ tej możliwości nie ma. I tu jest też duża rożnica między nimi ?
Yeap that is correct. I cannot remember what opamp i tried, quiet a few available back then and they all have different signatures. I think I had a video of one with replcaed opamp.
The music playing is DSD128....!!!! OK. BUT ....WHY the 44K1 light is on..............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has nothing to do with DSD...!! 44.1K is for Flac, PCM, APE etc....! SO i am asking , WHY the 44K1 is lit..
