Not very clean work I’d be surprised if it still didn’t charge after attempting that repair the pins look ruined with that solder work first thing should be done is to solder the legs in place so the pins line up then add flux to pins and solder each pin individually then clean of the flux with isopropyl alcohol
I liked the procedure, but the silk cloth rubbing against the board made me cringe. As a technician, scratch the surface with a material that has fabric that gets stuck on the pins frightened me XD
I spilled a beer on mine controller. Wasn't turning on. Re-assembled controller and cleaned with brush soaked in wd-40 like in the video. Reset it at the back. And guess what? It worked. Honest thank you from me.
Hi.... I have problem my vita not being detected by PC (Windows 10) using USB, let alone as a camera device. No matter whether I was using Vitashell or QCMA, it seems that the USB connection from my vita is not being detected at all. No notification sound or whatsoever. I'll try to connect to android box (using the USB Camera app) but still no luck. I've tried using 2 new cable but nothing being detected. Not even a Windows sound (as when detecting an USB connection). It seems like the USB data transfer has been disabled/ dead. But my Vita still can charge. My Vita is 1000 model on 3.60 Enso using SD2VITA 512GB full games with 8GB original Sony memory card, working well. I bought it second hand. I have 3 charging cables, all for test, but with no avail. They can charge but nothing on data transfer. When I plugged the cable, there wasn't a notification/ loading icon. What is wrong then?
Thank you for this tutorial! My controller was water damaged and this helped me fix it. I used a microfiber cloth, WD-40 and isopropyl alcohol to clean and repair it. Edit: I also bought an electronic repair kit at Walmart for around 10 bucks. Came with everything I needed to unscrew things, and a very handy tweezer for when I needed to clean the analog sticks.
@@moizrehman5472 I wasn't able to get the controller to charge at all, or turn on before I repaired it. After taking it apart and cleaning it with alcohol and lubing parts with WD-40, it turned on and held a charge. Unfortunately, just a few hours after posting my comment, it stopped working once again and would not turn on or hold a charge without being connected to the charging cable. I did some troubleshooting using parts from another controller and discovered that I need a new motherboard. Now, my controller does work when it's connected to its charging cable, but only when it's connected to the PS4 via charging cable. If I unplug it, it becomes obsolete again. I have 2 other controllers that I repaired using other tutorials, so I'm still able to play games; just can't use the water damaged one until I replace the motherboard.

@@moizrehman5472 Yeah, some may find it more convenient to get a new or used controller rather than a new motherboard. There's a lot that goes into replacing the motherboard and even I have yet to decide if I will undergo the repair.

I saw this video, laughed and said no way this works, well..I was wrong. My 12 month old dunked my PS move controller in the dogs water bowl, took it apart cleaned MB with WD 40 and it came back to life.
Idk if anyone will see but i was eating and watching youtube then I accidentally spilled some water on my controller and now when i turn it on my ps4 keeps switching the mic to my controller but i dont have anything plugged in
I did the exact same thing for my Infinite. It's easy and I definitely decided to do it rather than let that total cashgrab of a company milk any more money out of me with overpriced repair costs lmao.
