Hello Dr. Mazur, you come across as a nice person who will be a great physician. My nephew and his fiancée have just wrapped up their third year and are doing away rotations. He wants to go into orthopaedic surgery and she into internal medicine and cardiology afterwards. They have been working insanely hard to match into their desired residencies next year (they will be doing a couple's match). Both are top students who have honoured their rotations and crushed their USMLE step 2. I enjoy your videos as I can have an idea what they are up against. Keep up the good work!
I failed last year and had to repeat. Just had the mid year exam, and it was AWFUL. They ask the most random questions. Like more than 50 percent is rogue stuff that we've not even learned or was mentioned once. Things we were told not to worry aboout. I feel like my school constantly sets us up to fail. We only have mid year and end of year exams. If you fail, you repeat. There's no resits. It's so hard. I hate it. I wish we had block exams like you had. God. I would kill for block exams. It would definitely take some of the pressure off, especially as a repeating student. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Haha
I am about 4 years to the video! But I had a question, do med schools look at masters? If I had a bad undergrad GPA and a good master's GPA, would they be considered separate or averaged or considered at all?
Dr. Mazur!!!!! I am so so happy for you. I’ve been watching you, ND MD, and Sean Andersen for years and I am so proud of and in awe of all three of you. Big CONGRATULATIONS and salutations. It must have been so heartening to have your pop hood you. I can’t imagine how proud he must be. Thank you for your content. I look forward to watching your residency journey (if you have time to make videos).
I wonder if the algorithm understands deep enough to consider your performance in medical school and then avoids matching great students to subpar residency programs? If that makes sense?
You're so blessed to have a loving wife that is happy to go with you and leave her parents\family. I've known so many in general life that refuse. Not meaning just doctors but in any occupation.
I went to then UMKC for my Bachelors back in the early to mid 90's. Never thought I'd see it represented on RU-vid. Just awesome! Thank you Dr. Mazur. It seems like so many doctors and attorneys in KC went there. Must have been tough, if you are a Bronco's fan in the heart of Chief's country. 😄
@@ERdoctorMike You are very welcome and glad to hear you are a fan of Chief's nation. I look forward to your future videos and all the best to you Dr. Mazur and have a safe move.
Did you graduate from the same school as your father? That's impressive. Congratulations doctor. I think your videos are very encouraging for those who want to pursue medicine but are discouraged due to not being a good test taker.
YOU DID IT! You are my role model bruh, you made it. Im here with a 3.5 undergrad GPA, bout to graduate in May, applying for a masters program, panicing on how am i going to study for the mcat, and you made it from a rough start. I've been watching your content for months now. People like you give me hope that it can be done.
Such a good gpa. I don’t think you need a masters unless it’s something you want to do. If that’s the case you can do a masters during med school at a cheaper rate generally. Good luck!
Congrats! This is a win for all the students who struggle at test taking. It gives me hope that I can finish med school too. “Don't allow someone who gave up on their dreams talk you out of yours.” ― Zig Ziglar
Congrats to you and your journey it’s been amazing following your channel and I hope that you continue to be successful and may the lord Jesus bless you and your family.
The program seems to have changed slightly since I did it. I was shocked to only see 80 graduates this year vs 120 when I went through. Idk why they are scaling back.
ok great. hmm i checked prior to commenting and i checked just now and i could not locate it? unless i missed it by mistake, there is only your facebook page. is it on a different link perhaps?
hi checking back in. test is nearing so would really like to connect sometime soon. i also am interested in em/trauma so i have questions for you, thank you.
