Me and my wife are thinking about building about the same size cabin the spring did you guys have plans for that cabin and if you did where did you get them? Just trying to figure out how much lumber I would need to get for that size of cabin, such as two by fours two by sixes and flooring, thanks
I'm building same size cabin. I'm planning on building same monopitch roof. I'm in a much earlier stage than you guys, so your video is very inspiring! Thank you for sharing your experience.

So this is basically a 16x32 post frame building huh?... 8' tall at rear and 12' at front? I'm planning the same build but with a 10'x 24' lean-to addition for 2 small rooms
That's a nicer one ... Yes , you have to burn it to break in. But after that it's better than current version oven . I would additionally add thermo meter with probe. Then get a fire brick plate and inflammable blanket cut and sewed for it's size.
Pleases share blueprint . My 1800 sq foot home on Trails End Rhinelander WI was a WI Agricultural Extension Serv blueprint which I have asked for to be returned to me many times but I always am told not available.
very Good Compact Toilet. Man can be design and create this type most comfortable utilities, it should be more creative usefullness. The solid part is simply composting is not good. It should be using as fertilizer. Creat bio-gas for cooking before fertilizing. Multi-purpose use. ok my brother. My Idea may be right or wrong. You can correct me, if it is wrong. bye I am from from India.

I'm getting ready to build a small cabin in the Virginia mountains. I'm seriously thinking of doing pier and beam, but with an old-fashioned earthen cellar under the center. Just a 3' wide pathway, to access what would be the crawlspace, for storage. In this southern climate, we get winter temps down to single digits perhaps once or twice per winter. Usually hangs out in the teens overnight in January. It freezes perhaps to 2' deep, in a hard winter. So, I'm thinking I could use rigid insulation inside the perimeter skirting instead of under-floor insulation. (Of course, treated lumber framing, with half-price scratch-n-dent local steel roofing for the outside skirting.) Experienced builders: how does this sound to you?
Instead of using a tape measure for each measurement, I tape with duct tape sticks together to give the lengths I need. That way I don't have to go back to the tape; I have 2 sticks the distance between pillars and 2 sticks 1.414 of those.
I just ordered the sunmar electric toilet from Lowes. Are you still using yours and are you still happy with it? Just wondering if I should cancel my order LOL
....You and your family. You have a 512 square foot home. You stated that your stove is rated for a house that is 1500 square feet. Three times more for goodness sakes. You then state that you don’t run it that high. That’s the dangerous part. Your stove can develop a dangerous fire hazards from you doing just that. Please get this fixed. If you don’t believe me...look it up.
Hi this is really cool. If you don't mind, in terms of hours it takes to build this. How much time did you input into this project to make and finish? If someone was by themselves and focused on this for a month could they finish it?
