Hi guys, i am a Driving instructor/photographer who loves shooting and gadgets. On this channel i share my reviews and thoughts on these subjects. Although i review mainly airguns and shooting accessories, there is no hunting videos on this channel!
I've had one for over 5 years, no trouble, not even an O-ring replacement. Still shooting 1" groups at 40m with a bipod. Great for HFT paired with a Nikko Stirling 4-16 x 40 FFP scope..
New subscriber to your channel really enjoying your videos. Found my Opinel slim line beech handle #8 tonight I bought in France 30yrs ago, gave it a clean and sharpen, good as new and razor sharp. I’d forgotten I had it until I watched this video so thank you 👍👍
I have the HW MODERATOR on my air arms 410. air arms guns are a little MODERATOR fussy they are quite loud with alot of mods on. but I found the HW the quietest.. MODERATOR or as the yanks call it a muffler to moderate/muffle the sound to a quieter .. 🤔🤔😛😛😛😄😄😁😁
I enjoyed your series of videos on the R10TH. I am probably one of very few who have one here in America. Mine is a .22 grey laminate R10th SE HP variant. Due to a variety of reasons, I have not really got to stretch her legs at any real distance yet. My backyard 'range' is only 15 meters but I shot my best group last week with it with JSB Exact Jumbo 15.89gr pellets. They gave me a 10 shot 0.010" group. (0.254 mm). Best group I have ever shot. I have had mine right at 2 years now and agree, I would buy it again!
BSA, for crying out loud, listen to your customers and get rid of the 13mm dovetail. We are restricted in a choice of mounts so I cannot get the mount I actually want to suit the scope on my ultra clx and have to play about when shouldering the gun to get proper eye relief. The alternative is fork out another £200-£300 for a replacement scope. I know that some use BKL, but they are not recommended for use on BSA dovetails. One more gripe; stop charging so much for magazines.
@@allthingsag938 One thing I like about this channel is that you take the time to read the comments and often reply, so thank you, Marcus. BSA ignored your email, tbh they've ignored customers and a lot of reviewers saying, "change the 13mm to 11mm" for a long time. I can't see any good reason for sticking with 13mm, some may say it's a quirk but it's put me off buying an R10th.
@@davea8046 Thanks dude. Yes it's a quirk but can be a bloody annoying one. It's like an i phone only being compatible with apple and nothing else. But every other phone works across the board!
I was bequeathed a CLX pro on11/05/2024 ... compared to my Daystate Huntsman revere ... not beating about the bush ... its sh1te ..its off to Ratworks for a tune , hope it solves the issue of a 4 inch grouping at 30 yards compared to the Daystates 10mm
I had a RM 8 .22 and the R10 .177 and unfortunately for me TIME was the issue, I have 2 disabled adult sons and the idea was maybe taking them with me. The problem I had was nowadays the Farmers round here have all gone over to the Dark Side of people having to buy shooting rights and at £1000 a year I don’t think it’s justified ( for Shotgun owners it’s even more ! ). Some Farmers don’t seem to want Free pest control anymore either ? Apparently they had bad experiences with other AR owners just going on their land so now nobody can go on their land. Joined a Gun Club and paid a years subscription but no matter what I tried to do I just never got the chance to get to the range ( I did have the time once but couldn’t book the range ( even though it was empty ( two weeks notice ). Ended up selling all my Gear ( for a great loss ) but more than what the shops were willing to offer and at least it went to someone who will use it for their pleasure and their Sons 🤷♂️. In 4 years all I ended up doing was using the R10 for some Pest Control in our Garden ( had Rats because of next door) and traps etc didn’t work so ended up settling down to watch and wait sitting in the living room with the rifle pointed out of our big patio doors lol 😂. R10 worked a treat at 20yards but omg the RM8 .22 obliterated those Rats . Sad to see all my stuff go but better it being used than just sat in the back of the cupboard !. Great video and videos. Legal side of AR I think is going to be changing soon, plinking in the back garden I reckon is going to end up being banned because of some of the idiot things people do. Happy Hunting
Yep it's the same here, i lost my perm as they wanted money. Lost another one as the small holder didn't believe in pest control. Yep and basic garden plinking a firm favourite with lots of people will surely do as you said.
Hi traindriver, I just searched out the repair report from BSA. There was a pellet lodged in the trigger assembly and the wrong knock off restrictor fitted. The report was dated 8/12/2022, since then the gun has worked perfectly, absolutely no issues (apart from BSA's insistence on sticking to a 13mm dovetail). I'm using AirArms diablo field (4.52) straight from the tin. About the 13mm dovetail: Andy on AAR online says he uses BLK mounts, but I can only find them in 11mm for dovetail fitting. Does anyone have any experience using them on BSAs? Cheers, Dave.
animals and humans hear different frequency levels. so dropping th dB for human ears can possibly increase to an animals ears. it is the harmonics that effect it. listen to some sound moderators and some air rifles themselves? they actually ring like a bloody tuning fork..🤔🙄 human hearing is average is from 20 hz - 20 khz (20 to 20,000 Hz).. a rabbit can hear is from 96 hz-49 khz (96 - 49000 hz).. rabbit will hear sounds between 1,000Hz-16,000Hz the best, with sounds outside of this window being heard with less clarity.
I bought these years ago, both jacket and trousers (I gave both away) They were not waterproof to a high degree but more shower proof, the main problem was that although they are advertised as breathable they certainly were not, I would come home from birdwatching absolutely drenched from sweat, the trousers were the worst, they were sodden. I contacted Jack Pyke and they told me my metabolism was wrong, well! I have heard some BS excuses in my time but that takes the cake. Apart from that they were very comfortable (at first) very quiet and loads of pockets which is what I like.
Hello Marcus, Thank you for your time and troubles in making this informative video. Personally, I'll be staying with the shroud configuration from BSA. Thank you, Ian.
this is a false test 1. this is the sound you hear at the source 2. the decimate test is beside and behind the source and not down range of it.. 3. there is alot of echo and and ambient noise. 4. i feel phone app decimetres are not a true designed tool for the job they are another gimmick.. phone mics are not designed the sme s a true decimetre..
Hi, Why is it that when I install my iPhone 14 Pro on the SideShot Scope Cam on my Element Helix scope, there's always a border or shadow on the right side of the recording? ..Could you help me?
Makes sense to use what you're used to and get the best results with, especially in competition. My understanding is these probably aren't ideal much beyond 30 or so yards? But for shooting in one's yard, I like the idea of not making it a toxic waste dump...which is solely my opinion. I just hope companies continue to experiment to find better lead free materials and make the pellets/slugs better and better...coz lead is just bad stuff and needs to be replaced, simple as that.
I do agree on the lead being not nice, and i think shooters will get over it and continue to shoot straight lol. People don't like change, but change is very often needed. Thanks for commenting.
@@allthingsag938 Well...change for the better hopefully! ha ha. I just ordered a ton of GTO 25's so hopefully they'll be decent. I saw the airgun show where GTO was saying 30 and 35 cal GTO's were about to be released and GTO 22 slugs...but then the pandemic hit and not a hint of those products since. Bummer.
Thanks for the information I was wondering about this now I know I have a fx m3 I bought as a retirement gift to myself about a year ago and have been making some long shots with slugs but my friends don't believe me so I'm going to buy one so they don't have to take my word nice video
Just bought one of these and taking it over the range to use it first time next week. Looked for a video on setting it up. Thanks very much for this. Much appreciated.
Thanks for the review. Please note that the o ring lube is to allow the seal on the R10 probe to easily pass the ring in the loader. If both are dry then they can catch against each other. I recommend silicone grease. (SMW Engineering)
Had the same problem when fitting a shroud to my R10, the gap. My scope is the ATN 4k Pro and was catching on the shroud when trying to focus. I cured the problem with a couple of Sportsmatch risers.
Hi Marcus enjoying you reviews on the R10. Bought a new R10 .177 last month and love it. Issue i do have is when i refill (to 200bar) the first 10 or so shots after are underpowered hitting about 4inches low at 30 yards then settles back to normal. Any advice please. Thanks
@All things Airguns no I don't have a chronograph to check this but it must be the reg. I have it booked in to where I purchased to check and will keep you updated. Thanks Rob
Subbed buddy and thumbs up , I’m reviewing my friends r12 very soon on my channel , thanks for the honesty, some reviewers stay neutral and keep away from the warts , ,, they need to be mentioned , swings and roundabouts etc , cheers shaneweightman
I would put some gaffer tape over that nut, that is protruding to the base, just in case it wares through the bag. I have just purchased one of these gun rests. So much better than the bag rest, I had before.
I modded mine to make it a little higher. I folded a piece of cloth to fit between the metal and the cushion and added some velcro strips to affix it all properly. Works like a charm. Obviously this eliminates the potential nut problem as a favorable side effect.
Thanks very much for your great reviews. I first came across your channel when looking for a new rifle on the airgun centre website and your review of the scope is spot on. Actually looking at either the R10 or the Ultra CLX Multi Shot. I’ve got a disability in my back and used to do a lot of hunting for 20+ years, but going to join a local club and start a new hobby. I can’t afford the rifle I used to have. New subscriber. Thank you mate 👍🏼
i might buy one for a spare but for me 70+% of the point of having a PCP is the multishot capability and the other 30 is consistency over CO2,is there sone advantage im missing to a single shot over a mutli shot in this case?
Cos regs constantly fail and unregged guns don't. Regs creep and un regged guns don't. Regged guns often spike at the end of the charge and unregged don't. A reg will cost more money and you will be constantly messing about with it instead of shooting . And you will only get an extra 10 shots for all these down sides .
First one, brand new, wouldn't hold air. Replacement, slow leak, but stabilised, now holds charge, over the chrono. 10.2 ftlbs. These are not a cheap gun. There are lots of failure stories from new. No, it isn't good enough. No excuses.
There are also lots of good stories from new, but people like to bitch and moan! Mie is now consistently shooting 11.4, since i replaced a seal on the fill bottle. And it was the RFD that messed that up not BSA
@@allthingsag938 Believe me, the last thing I want to do is bitch and moan, but for something that costs around £750, I would like to think that it would be fit for purpose. The general consensus seems to be, if you purchase one of these guns, be prepared to pay for an upgraded regulator and a tune. Not acceptable.
