I live on the Alabama Gulf Coast on the Gulf of Mexico. My family moved here from my home town of Wetumpka, AL. I’ve been learning to target saltwater species primarily from land ever since. Since beginning this RU-vid channel I have become a full time surf fishing guide. I still enjoy freshwater fishing and deer hunting when I get the chance but surf fishing has become my addiction! Consider subscribing to my channel and follow along my family’s beach lifestyle! You stay bummy!
A REQUEST Can you please try this in a video.... Bait up with Friskies soft cat treats. Watched a guy near Perdido catching pomp and ladies on every cast !!
Salt water or fresh water there is nothing that pumps the adrenaline like catching fish on top water lures. Learning to wait for the actual hit rather than reacting to the surface splashes is hard. Most beginners will react to those splashes and jerk the bait too soon trying to set a hook before a fish actually has ahold of the top water lure.
I am jealous of the variety and size of fish you can catch of the beaches down there. Up here in Oregon, all there is off the beach is surf perch and the occasional flounder.
I have a local reservoir that I fish from the bank frequently. I cast out in places I know hold fish and have minimal success. And when I go to the same areas fishing with a guide we catch fish. Because he knows the movement of bait and fish on a daily basis and I don’t. It is a matter of repetition, knowledge, and timing.
Love it. Got addicted to surf Speck fishing on Hatteras Island in the early 80s. My favorite being middle of the night on a falling tide... Pretty work.
Awsome video and good advice I'm staying in fort morgan next week for vacation and I'm fishing everyday so mabey I'll get to meet you at the store or on the surf fishing
@@braydenpaulk5079 Yeah, I don't know why most RU-vidrs don't use the bubble rig. I always have luck when no one else is even by using the straw method.
I visited bama beach bum outdoors , everything was organized and had a great energy in the building staff was very helpful . You all Have tons of fishing equipment and needs . Yall keep up the great work . Glad I was able to support yall movement
Glad to see a Triumph still getting it. I think they were a technology ahead of their time. With modern techniques I think the rotomolded plastic boat could be awesome.
