Cyber Houston is a Dept of Homeland Security recognized ISAO (Information Sharing and Analysis Organization) and is a coalition of volunteer business, cybersecurity, academic, government and civic leaders.
Our goal is to continuously educate and inform business leaders on how to manage and govern cybersecurity risk. We take lessons learned from our enterprise members and distill them down into sensible, economical guidance to help small and mid-sized businesses improve their cyber posture, build resilience, become better and stronger suppliers back to the enterprise - all through the lens of helping SMBs grow their business. This guidance comes in the form of the Business Vitality Guide, Guidance for the Board of Directors, the Cyber Preparedness Assessment, and the Free Cyber Scan. All these resources are FREE of charge, and can be found under the Resources tab on the CyberHouston.org website.

I understand this exercise was 2 years ago. However, the law enforcement agencies such as FBI recommends not paying a ransom to cyber criminals/threat actors. This is because there is no guarantee that you would retrieve all your locked/stolen data and secondly, there is no guarantee that they would remove your company's data from the dark web. That said, the best strategy is to contain and eradicate the malware from your systems and recover as quickly as possible by relying on your backups. That all said, you are not supposed to pay any ransom for this incident. If you liked my argument, i am open to new opportunities as a Cybersecurity Analyst. 😊
To Mel's first question regarding the purpose of such drills is very simple: To bolster your cyber RESILIENCE and to ensure continuity of business operations as swiftly as possible. I liked your incident response framework, but not the strategy. I have got a ton of questions regarding your strategy and cyber maturity.
Does it mean legal is ready to pay ransom? Is that correct 🤔. And what is organisation's pays ransom, and they still demand more, how can you trust the hacker
2022 from this year forward it will be an Honor to Serve U Lord, we will do our best to maintain the Planet U Provided for the betterment of all life SAFELY, this will be my New Years Resolution !
