Shows how garbage todays movies are. Over two million people are interested in Redford's performance while most of us don't know the first thing about baseball. Sorry...just speaking on my behalf as a European....we really cannot understand this game. 🙂 You know what has 2.4 million views? "Darth Vader vs Third Sister". That is how low Disney managed to sink the franchise...an 1984 clip outperforms a Star Wars clip in 2022. How sad.
I'm not a Cleveland sports fan. I am a Chicago White Sox, and Atlanta Braves fan. However, whenever I see "Majore League," I miss the Cleveland Indians. Please bring back the Cleveland Indians.
In that era of baseball movies, The Natural is king! "Welcome to the majors Mr. Hobbs!" is right up there with "Just a bit outside..." from Major League. Between the serious dramas like this and Field of Dreams, they both get little credit for deepening the baseball fan base of the 80's and 90's. I don't think "The Rookie, For the Love of the Game, Major League 2, 3 or Angels in the Outfield quite planted the seed that the baseball dramas and comedies of the 80's and 90's did.
