I am not certain, but I feel like it's maintained by the same crew that does the maintaince for the northern most section of the WCT, which would be a priority. On a side note, you're totally right, it's bad, like break your ankle bad
I actually live in Port Alberni.... I like caves but I don't have much experience in them. Some company sent me a flashlight to test out in a video, and I need a good cave lol... hmu
Nice video! I've been camping in that area for 40 years. 1RST with kids and then grandkids. Unfortunately, MOSAIC FOREST MANAGEMENT took over the area, PUT UP SIGNS EVERYWHERE, Gated and blocked all the rustic campsites at Dickson Lake, Elsie Lake Ash lake and more... They have security people stopping you and they lock the gates as soon as they finish RAPING.. SORRY, Logging. They DONT WANT YOU TO SEE THE DEVESTATION AND CLEAR CUTTING THATS GOING ON!! AS THE WORDS TO THE SONG GOES: "Sign Sign everywhere a sign, Blockin out the scenery, Breakin my mind, Do this don't do that cant you read the sign? .....and the sign said anybody caught trespassing, will be shot on site, so I jumped on the fence and yell at the house, HEY, what gives you the right? To put up a fence to keep me out, BUT to RAPE mother nature within, if GOD was here he'd tell you to your face MAN YOUR SOME KIND OF SINNER!!! WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL OFFICIALS AND PROTEST AGAINST THOSE BASTARDS!!
Great video was there when the shelter and boardwalk were first built. It was quite a long drive in back then I don't think I would want to hike in now😮
The hike there wasn't so bad... it was my sense of adventure and wanting to camp on the rock that changed the dynamic, lol.... thank you for the comment
Hi Dear, Your video content is really good. but views and subscribers are much lower. To increase subscribers and views, you need to do channel SEO meaning your videos are not fully SEO. SEO is not friendly to your title. The SEO score is very low. The main reason why videos go viral is because of video SEO and organic promotion. If you do SEO and promotion then lots of views and subscribers will come to your channel and you will be able to monetize your channel in a few days. I can help you. If you went.
Thanks for the tips! You gonna help do Seo for one of my videos? If it's hits, i will hire ya... seo is actually important, but as a content creator, it's alot to learn
Great video thanks! Where is the trailhead? I'm a little familiar with Bamfield. And how long did it take to get out? Reasonabe to plan to do it out and back in an afternoon?
Sorry for the delayed reply, the trail head is about 5 minutes out of Bamfield. It's pretty swampy.... yup could do it in and out in a day but the Trail wasn't good. At least when I was there last
Haha yes we ate lunch in caves, it was wet everyday. We all slept in that shitty old trailer eating those terrible pizza things from walmart lmao. That reminds me, that guy never paid me for that, guess I did it for fun, how's the leg?
Most of the area in this video is TFL44...WFP/First nations land and parts of Pacific Rim park. I grew up here on this island. I am not a fan of gates either they can disappear anytime!!!!
Hey, where is the last cabin located like which lake is it on? My dad and I were watching your video and we thought it looked really nice and we’d like to check it out sometime.
Awesome job. I have camped there at camp b quite a few times. It's always fun exploring around but you definitely showed me some more places I should go check out
I’ve got a friend in Alberni who was born at Camp B in the late 50s. My wife was born and raised in Bamfield and as a kid would drive to Camp B on weekends in the summer for swimming lessons at the pool. That would have been early 70s. I remember stopping at the coffee shop there on our way to Bamfield in the late 70s and then when I moved to Bamfield in 88 we use to stop in occasionally and swap a fresh salmon for gas ⛽️ 😂
first off Jon, loved this video. You are finding your stride for sure. I want to share my memories of the Franklin camp with you.I started to go out there mid to late 1970's . likely about 1978. The camp was still active then but as we returned year after year things slowed down and eventually closed up. I think I actually have a memory imprint of the paved section from past Flora main to Franklin. The paved bits became worse and worse as no one maintained anything and it became the worst part of the road all the way for Yubou. . That was saying something!!! one day as I was returning with a friend and my daughter from the West Coast Trail I had a flat in my old VW somewhere after Sarita lake towards Bamfield on a hill. I still know exactly where. Along came 2 fellows from Franklin who changed the tire for us . The spare wasn't great so they followed us to Franklin where they convinced the mechanic to repair our tire after hours and then sent us on our way. Much like you helped that woman. No one leaves another stranded on those roads. It is a code of ethics for those of us who know. I think then the camp was mainly not functioning but some workers were still stationed there to assist the log trucks, I so love that area and have so many wonderful memories of that area. I am hoping to return once more to Keeha Bay this summer. Gosh , darn- too bad I missed the bar and the brothel🤣How funny is that??? Carry on having fun. It shows. Wendy
Thank you Wendy! And yes! the road from camp b to flora is kind of paved!!!!!!!! Ironic you mentioned that..... we just got back from filming a video about caves and the giant tree in Carhmana haha that "paved section is in our upcoming video!!!!!! Even crazier is the fact I work at the Franklin mill. My boss Mike is awesome and provided the diesel for the stranded lady!!! I have a question for you by the way!!!!
Mosaic is ruining our island. Throwing gates up where there was no gates ever before. They own 40km on either side of a so called rail way from Campbell river to the capital. How is that fair to the population on Vancouver island.
Was defiantly a spur of the moment random Saturday video, I wish I could have found more info before leaving or even better someone who lived there. The bottle place was actually a garbage dump! Thank you for the comment
Did this hike 31 years ago when you could drive up to the bottom of the Witness trail. Very pretty. Thanks for bringing back those memories. Would you know what year that landslide was? Was thinking possibly around the same time as the earthquake in 1946 that shut down the mine in Della Falls. Anyone know?
There is very little info online regarding this lake, From my research I found this lake had 2 district names Snag or Spire over the years! I would assume your idea would be correct. I know a man that may have more info on the dates
It 100% is, I had grown up knowing it as KSB, and when asked... I reviewed maps over candle light late into the night. I was super confused as the goat path we followed was labeled 'King Soloman' in a crappy old version of the BRMB early edition. I will make this right next time we visit Golden Eagle Basin... I pride myself on knowing maps and local geography but I am human and make mistakes.. On a side note I have heard your name in local circles :)
Fun video. Not much left of that camp. Went out that way many times when I was younger. I know people that worked at that camp .Be cool to more of fly around. Sure is beautiful area.
Thanks Wendy! doing my best with what I have... I feel that if you are passionate about something you will succeed! Ups and downs I'm sure you know what I mean. Your channel is doing super awesome, I'm happy for you. Keep doing what you do! you are a role model for people
@@IslandUncharted keep up the good work. It was fast paced but also so interesting. Many great shots. I think the main thing is to have fun with whatever we do. Good to know we’re neighbours 👍
I haven't been there in over 30 years. What a difference! Thanks Jon that was a flashback! We drove over that bridge, lol. Little bit of my wife's history. My father inlaw was there when that Mt dropped off. They were the first ones to be there. So they named it Simbee lake, after Brian Simms and Pet Frisbee.
What an amazing unforgettable hike to the land of the dead. Incredible scenery and one crazy Boulder field. And that slide was crazy looking. Well worth all the effort. A place I will never forget. Hope everyone enjoys the video as much as we enjoyed making it
Nice area. Maybe add a go pro holder at the front of the boat to film yourself while fishing. Makes it more professional and easier to watch then hand held moving film. The content is nice, your almost there. Keep making videos and improvements and your channel will grow :)
The boat was super cramped I had actually brought mounts but forgot to stick em on!!!!! Thank you!!!!I apricate the comment. We have big plan for summer!
