Renovating, Building, Refurbishing; It's all HERE! So you're interested in renovating property? Well, you have come to the right place! It's all about renovating, repairing, maintaining and refurbishing property in the UK, and occasionally South America! Come and follow our latest project as we renovate a particularly run-down flat in England, which has been somewhat neglected in the past. These aren't 'how-to' videos, they're just about coming along with us on our projects.
Most of probably way too late now and you know much more than I do could you have done it so you go bedroom to the bathroom and then in that bit before the bathroom make that the kitchen
That plastering wasn't the best....lol. Not your finest hour, I have to say. Your work is normally to a high standard but I guess one can't be great at everything!Nothing a few sheets of 80-grit sandpaper won't sort out.
It's probably the dust in the hole that's jamming the core drill in the hole. You should clear the hole regularly to stop this happening. If it's nearly through the brick, maybe you could hammer it in to break through into the cavity. Might damage the diamond edge, though
If you switch rooms, does that mean you have to go through the bedroom to get to the living room?? Here in our part of the U.S. (Connecticut) unless a room has a window and a closet it can't be considered a room! ☺
Knowing what John Deere charge for spare parts, that's a very neat solution for repairing those pulleys. And nearly £900 for the bare deck is unbelievable! Hope you manage to repair it, as it looks like you might just have caught it in time
my friend,s house is worse than that, I asked her why doesn't she clean up and her reply was, it's ok as it is, and my thoughts was ok if you want to live in grime, I've offered to clean for her and she isn't bothered, she likes her grime, some people just don't want help.
The fact that they had children in there is really disturbing. In the past I have used vinegar and baking soda to remove that level of grease...spray vinegar and then apply baking soda..it's the same way I clean the oven.. Bleach also is good but it is harsh ....
Congratulations! Considering all you had done, a month of work is not bad at all! The stairs are a little...daughting...lol Here in the states we can the dimensions the rise and the run...But everything looks really lovely and comfy!!
Amazed at how much of the wood you have been able to reuse! Here in the states we would never have been that frugal! Really, aside from screws you haven't had to spend much money at all!🙂
The timber is of much better quality than what's available today. It's like your old growth timber; slow grown with very close growth rings. There's really no value in throwing away good wood and buying an inferior product to replace it
That certainly looked like some difficult bricklaying. Good to see such a lot of progress in the bedroom; I was wondering how you were going to tackle those external walls, as they looked really damaged at the bottom
The brickwork looked okay in the end, but did you make a mistake on the second course? It looks like you laid two the same, without staggering the joints
It's not normally done here in UK. The most we would fit is some insulation for heat retention, but these flats were built without anything, so I'm just following what was already there
In all fairness, thats mould and caused by rising damp or leaking roof/gutters or all of the above. The tenants should have bought it to your attention. The kitchen on the other hand is pretty rank and it doesn’t look like it’s been maintained at all. Hope their rental bond covers the cost of cleaning and painting but I doubt it.
No, there are no problems with the building, as no previous tenant has had any issues like this. If the tenants have two showers in the morning then hang their washing indoors to dry, then turn off the heating and go to work leaving the place sealed up all day, then that is perfect for mould growth.
@@dawnbliesener7679 Oh really? I am the proprietor of a very successful cleaning business (12 years) we professionally clean mould from affected properties every day. So madam, I do in fact know exactly what I am talking about. I suggest you go sit down.
