This channel is basically a mixtures of TV presentation clips and other recording from the telly that I have accumulated over the years.
I used to record lots of rubbish from TV when I was a kid in the mid-late 90 early 00's and kept them all on VHS. I've recently bought a VHS to digital converter so have started uploaded some of those VHS here.
If you've done this sort of thing before you'll know it's not quick to do and I have a good 50 VHS tapes to go through but I'll try and update as much as possible.
There is more of a focus on BBC Scotland presentation and Children's BBC but anything I think is worth while will get added.
Aww.. I carried on growing up and now I'm much older than the presenters.😢 Wouldn't it be nice if we could exist in a past moment whenever we chose. If only for a little while.
I remember the night my Aunt died and we watched Channel 4 to the bitter end. It still makes me emotional to hear the boom at the end of ident and takes me back to July 1995 in a heartbeat.
3.40am closedown, followed by quick TV equipment maintenance works by the little minions and elves living within the Channel 4 broadcasting centre ehhh?
I, as a trainee, was the BBC One engineer on duty during this in Red TCR in the NTA. It was chaos which at one point included me standing out on Wood Lane with the BBC One network director, calling my mum at home so I could tell the director what was currently on-air on her channel. A very interesting evening to be on shift, as was the following day since a lot of old kit that had been powered on 24/7 for years hadn’t survived being powered off and on quickly during the failure. Thanks for posting this, I’d never seen this report!
