What if you wanted to best Richard Clark's 60" subwoofer from the 90's, what material would you suggest then? multilayered carbon and kevlar as used in ship hulls? honey comb aluminum carbon composite?
Misco is one of a very small number of still made in America raw driver manufacturers. I hope they can keep the manufacturing in the country and is supported by buyers who care about USA jobs.
Ferrite is still a great choice in home audio where size and weight are not major concerns. Yes for automobiles, Nd could be a good choice where as you say tight space and low weight is a priority.
I tried using their services several times for oem 6.5 car audio drivers, heck I even had the cones and voicecoils ready to use, but all we ever did is talk back and forth. Since I myself is a military veteran I thought it would have been great to collaborate and work with a company who had the same small start up entrepreneurial roots. Looks like as they got bigger, they ignore the little guy. I am a bit disappointed and now is working begrudgingly with China until I find a better alternative.
