I help you to explain how you feel and take responsibility for your own learning
I am Mads Johan Øgaard a Norwegian illustrator, animator, public speaker & special education teacher.
My passion is to create art that makes others think, especially within the awareness of learning differences and mental health, I myself is an individual with dyslexia and dyscalculia. I use my experiences to support and make awareness of these subjects. Ether trough art, public speaking, workshop or one to one sessions with clients.
With my work, I aim to portray how individuals are feeling to easier explain their situation to others as well as oneself. If you are interested in working with me please contact me
I remember working at a job in my early 20s & some guy I worked with asked me if I could read the news letter of the new changes in our company because he was dyslexic & it was difficult for him at times. I laughed & told him to “stop playing”. I thought he was being lazy because the packed was really long. Then He said “no really” & I noticed he couldn’t make eye contact with me and he turned pink. After that I would have little one on ones when there was changes now he wouldn’t feel embarrassed & I told Him it was no problem because I was always there to support MY team & there is nothing to be embarrassed about.
100%! I’m old and I was not supported as no one e knew much about dyslexia. It was horrible. I just thought I was dumb and the shame can be debilitating. Keep preaching ❤
I still don’t know massage vs message. When I’m spelling my vocabulary seems to change to what words I can spell, like instead of mesafe spelling “text” is so relatable
I am trying to get diagnosed with adhd and today I became so hyper and everyone seemed to hate me for it when things aren't my fault and I was so talkative so thank you. This really means so much ❤
I will take what you say on bourd Mads, I promise! 🙏 I am quite #### up in the head right now. You are sadly right, it is a learned response. That being so in the sense that I fear how society may percieve me. 🥺 I fear myself the most, and have lost touch with my self worth!
Thanks Mads for bringing this topic to the surface! 🙏 Not all dyslexics are bad at decoding the written language. We who have "auditory dyslexia" suffer from comprehending the text. We also read extremely slowly. 😵💫 Thank you Mads for the video, always appreciated! 😊🙏
I am dyslexia to 😊 and I love watching you’re videos they inspire so much Thank you so much for teaching people about dyslexia and how you can help someone with dyslexia 😊
My daughter has ADHD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia. Processing speed less than 5 percentile. I don’t know what to do anymore. School that was specialized and meds made her so overwhelmed and it scared me where her emotional state went to so took her out. I try to tell her anything and she forgets. I am surprised she can read as much as she does and I asked her how she has figured this out. She said as long as she has idea of what the thing she is reading is about she gets a decent idea of what the words but she can’t spell. I am to the point do I just let her find her own way in learning? She learned stories to help memorize somethings but she eventually forgets the story. How much going over can one do? I am at a loss. Any advice would be much appreciated!
Has she done a 1:1 OG program - taking as much time as she needs? Nothing NOTHING - worked for my son until we did Barton Reading and Spelling. Has she been checked for Auditory possessing DO?
I usually scroll all the way down just to see how much there is I do this on books it makes measuring my progress easier and it keeps me motivated to read
I was once given the advice to listen to audiobooks at the same time I went out with my dog. I have not tested this yet, but I am trying to keep a open mind.
I am my own worst enemy, and definitely punish myself! You are a wise man! You blow my mind every time!!! 🤯 I have a reading comprehension test in English on Tuesday, wish me luck! 🥺 I am dreading it!
