Yo what's up?! My name is Lukas, I am 16 years old and from Aurora, Illinois. My home park is Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. I rode my first coaster in 2011 but didn't really pick up on it until around 2015. I became an enthusiast in around 2017/2018. I post footage of roller coasters from some parks I go to. I also do ride reviews, POVs, So please subscribe and stay tuned as I will post more as time goes on. I'm in high school now and I’m involved in sports so I’ve been much busier lately so thank you for your patience.
All my footage is free for use, just remember to give me credit if you use it in one of your videos
Hurler at King's Dominion was the worst I have ever been on but thankfully RMC saved it. It jackhammered on the hills and was very jerky in the turns with a horrible scraping sound. Firebird at SF America is absolutely terrible. I never get headaches and that gave me one. It managed to be rough AND boring. When it was a stand up, it was far smoother lol. Predator at Darien Lake before the track work was insanely rough and boring. Great American Scream Machine SFOG a few years ago got to the point where the jackhammering was so bad, I don't know how people weren't constantly being injured. Goliath at SFNE was insanely rough as well but it's gone now. Kong at SFDK is BY FAR the worst SLC I have ever been on, probably because it was relocated BADLY.
@AlexanderRavioli naw not really, but I do find it hella informative bc I be real hesitant to get on one 🤣 really helps me out, and plus it's actually interesting lmfao
Honestly, I only vividly remember riding Leviathan, Behemoth, Flight Deck, Dragon Fyre, Bat, and Time Warp. Everything else I barely remember, and I thought Time Warp wasn't brutal but I just thought it was sketchy.
Blue Streak at Cedar Point is way more rough than the Cedar Creek Mine Ride, but it is more fun, so i understand you putting the mine ride instead of blue streak
I remember going on california screamin' when i was 6, because i got lost after i got off the ride and thought that the best way to find my mom again was to scrounge for coins and then call her on the payphones at the exit to the ride. At the same time however, I don't think they would have let a 6 year old ride by themselves in 2013...
Interesting how opinions can differ. I thought this was a absolutely terrible SLC, and it definitely gave me a headache from only one ride. I didn't find Loup Garrou to be bad at all (albeit not doing very much of interest). Rode that 6 times without issue. I was really excited about Psyche and found that to be a letdown as well. Don't know why but I guess I was hoping for more effects than were there.
Funfact: the mascot is a Wallaby. The park itself is WaLIbi, which comes from Wavre, Limal and Bierges. These are the closest to Walibi. So it's actually not pronounced as how your comment states.
The scream tunnels were extended to create more "darkness" for the showscene figures. Gives the illusion of going faster but it's the same ride system.
i honestly miss california screaming just because it was the first rollercoasters i’ve ever been on, i remember my dad making me go on it i went in crying and came out with a smile on my face and my love for roller coasters/rides started there
The ride ran faster 2001-2006. After a train in 2006 slipped the break zone before the final helix and bumped a train in the final break run, magnetic trims were added to the ride at : 1:15 and 1:41. The loop used to be much more intense and the bunny hills use to give strong air-time.
That's interesting! My first ride would have been when it was faster, and it had me sidelined for at least 30 minutes after the ride. I never had an issue when I rode it more often after '06 and thought it was more chill than I remembered. Maybe this did it.
This ride really doesn't benefit from the retheme. It removes some of the suspense from the launch by having a countdown and while the original felt like it was designed to resemble a classic wooden coaster, the new Incredibles theming just feels tacked on.
They should have made Pixar its own land and not retheme one, would have fit perfectly in between Hollywood Pictures backlot and Cars Land. Brings back memories and my inner critique seeing the comparison
California screamin and paradise pier were so much better, and plus, the only awful excuse as to why disney decided to change it to the incredicoaster was all just because of the release of Incredibles 2. That movie isn’t popular anymore. Bob Iger, please bring back california screamin and paradise pier!
OG California Adventure was up their as biggest flop as OG Disney Paris. It's well known and documented. It was a fair. Disney had to step it up and they did just that. Cars land, marvel campus, Pixar Pier it's way improved and now well visted and enjoyed
@@kpov2533 Except the general sentiment is that while Cars Land was great, Pixar Pier feels tacked on and Avengers Campus is one of the most hated areas of ANY Disney park.
@kpov2533 I disagree, and plus, california screamin was better than incredicoaster because it had a least annoying spiel and had a soundtrack that fits for going at a speed of 55 mph.
@@kpov2533 That's a lie. Marvel and Pixar Pier do NOT belong and are among the biggest failures in park history. Thankfully both will be removed from the parks to avoid the royalties Disney will owe after the government trust busts the company and takes those IPs away. No one will miss Marvel or Pixar.
Idk if it was faster but it was definitely more jarring back then. I went in 2003 and the starting propulsion actually gave me a minor injury in my neck. (I was 12 at the time)
Getting even just a minor injury on a coaster sounds pretty rough, but from what I experienced when I went on this ride in 2016 (I was almost 8 at the time) I did feel a bit more of a kick on the launch. I'm not sure if it was more jarring back in 2003 because I did not exist during this time, however I do have some family members that rode this during its early years.
Back in the early years of this coaster it was pretty jarring from what I heard. But in 2005, there was a serious accident where 2 trains collided at the very end of the ride sending 15 riders to the emergency room. And that was a pretty big deal, so they did have to slow it down just a little bit
Actually no, because when the coaster was california screamin, the motors that the ride was using were LIM (Linear Induction Motors) and when they changed it to the incredicoaster, they changed the motors to LSM (Linear Synchronous Motor)
Yeah it sure did! I remember riding back in 2016 and it did feel more powerful. And at my home park, SFGAm, V2 still uses the old LIMs and I also feel that the start of the launch is much more powerful. Plus, at the start it probably doesn't even hit the speed that Incredicoaster goes.
they were added in I believe 2005 after a train was rear ended, Disney did add a new safety mechanism after that but they opted to use the trim brakes instead
I dont trust comparing the speed of two coaster videos, completely imperceptible skipped frames can drastically change the speed of a video and there’s a lot of room for that in a video that’s been uploaded to youtube, downloaded, edited, and reuploaded to youtube Edit: not to mention the differences between how standardized cameras are now vs in 2001
Is it just me or does incredicoaster now break down more than when it was california screamin cause the times i went to disneyland when it was california screamin it only broken down once in the entire trip, but when I went with the refurbishment and i just gone on it this week it broke down at least 5 times every day and it was for almost 3 hours down. Loved it more when it was california screamin less of a wait to ride. Oh and nice video btw.
Yeah, I don't seem to recall California Screamin' breaking down at all the day I was there when I was 8. As I was about to get my 10th ride on Incredicoaster, it shut down for the rest of the night and people were stuck on the launch. And I agree, Incredicoaster had over an hour wait the day I was there so I had to spam the single rider line lol!
that is probably because there is more people wanting to ride it per day now. Like you said, "less of a wait to ride", theres more people visiting disney parks nowadays than in the 1990s and 2000s and maybe this ride can't handle the amount of people coming 🤷♂🤷♂ idk
I’m actually glad you mentioned it. Every comment here has an incorrect theory. Disney maintenance has just been slacking recently. Nothing to do with rides or more ppl wanting to ride, since the capacity it operated at is the same. Lots of rides have been broken recently. That’s why I stopped going to DL
It looked like it was slower in 2001 up until the bunny hills, mainly because of the 2005 incident where 2 trains collided on the final brake run and they had to really slow down the ride from there
I still stand by the fact that Great America should be more Family friendly instead of an amusement park, i know a lot will disagree by I stand by that
Again copy pasting this from another one of my comments I believe the new ride will be Called SkyStriker, it will be located in in the former spot of dare devil dive it will be 172 ft tall and will be a Giga Discovery or a Sky Screamer. Its most likely to be a giga discovery because a sky screamer would be the 3rd Tower ride in the park. It’s possible it might also be a ride pack with a one ride being The Mentioned SkyStriker. And judging from the hints Another ride could be located where revolution is currently, another where the go carts are, and the Last one being the former spot of buccaneer battle. It’s possible Buccaneer Battle’s Spot and the Go Karts could be coaster while revolution’s spot could be a Sky Flyer model. Which would be fitting for its area. But again this is all just speculation
Great America might get a new coaster for 2026 since it would be the parks 50th anniversary and I think a flat ride like a giant discovery eould be s good fit since they don't have many flat ride
Every teaser so far points to a Giga Discovery. SFGAm doesn't have any room for a coaster on the scale of JDC unless they remove one of their coasters, which doesn't look to be happening.
