Are you serious with this? To begin with, nobody sprays a powder extinguisher on a human unless it's an absolute last resort. This type of extinguisher has been around for ages and it's ONLY approved by Speedway Australia as an alternative to the foam extinguishers. Rules still require powder extinguishers as well and for good reasons. This is another poorly researched promotion. Read the rules ffs.
As a co-owner of a motorsport safety company and a speedway racer/fire crew when I’m not racing we switched to cold fire years ago doing burnouts and drag racing events and we’ll never go back to foam. If only speedway australia would tighten their regulations on requirements for infield fire/crash crew to make everybody safer
Great interview, I think Jason will be great in the position. His a sport first guy and will listen to the people within the sport. I feel will see a massive improvement across the board going forward with him at the helm.
Sounds good I wish them so much luck such great racing and so many local talented Aussies. Please don’t lock it behind a paywall yes! I mean you Fuxtell
What I really want to see from the S.C.C.A, is a concerted effort to bring back another 1/3 mile track to the East Coast of Australia. The last 1/3 mile track closed in 1996, when the Sydney Showground Speedway closed, and I for one say its about time Australian Speedway, and Sprintcar Racing in particular, put on their "big boy pants" and started advocating for one too. Also, I'd personally like to see the Wingless Sprintcar Division grow up and start sporting a 410" division, or is Todd Hobbson the only Australian Sprintcar Driver capable of handling one, and to do that, he needs to travel 12,000 miles away to do it. And how about the S.C.C.A throw their hat in the ring, and give the "idiots in charge" of the Eastern Creek Speedway a hard with their dilemmas? P.S : - To the very best of my knowledge, the only 1/3 mile tracks in Australia, are Bunbury and the Perth Motorplex.
As a punter that loves Speedway in general, if they can get a national tour up and running with free to air TV, it would have to benefit every speedway enthusiast. There's no Supercars in Summer and on TV or even live stream has got to be a winner for us petrol (methanol) heads. Please include late models, super sedans, modified production, midgets etc.
I think the way the sport is at the moment, is in a very very good place, its better then it ever has been, thats even with a national series. Tracks are doing their own things, aswell as each states series, which are drawing big crowds, big prize money, and racing like we havnt seen
Rather shocked to see Jason as the pres of SCCA. But knowing how he has brought back and rebirthed the COT in NT, He is gunna be going ball's to the wall's in making sure things are improved
Yeah I think it’s cool to see him in this position. I’m not a fan of change for the sake of change, so hopefully he can make worthwhile improvements that benefit the sport as a whole. He was generous with his time and gave answers to a lot of questions people have been asking. A good start! -Toby
Alan Woods still the promoter?? Awesome bloke and family, he did a lot there, haven't been there since 2007 😢 sweet video Toby, only place to race close to Brisbane or Maryborough 😊🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🌨🌨❄️❄️🏔🏔
Fix the entry road Toowoomba Regional Council!!! The city gets so much benefit from the Speedway, it's the least you can do to invest in the place. Great job to everyone at Hi Tec Oils Speedway for the track and facilities so far. Now to improve the lighting (needs to be on the track and not on the outside of the catch fence as it catches the light and makes it harder to see through the fence to the track...) Also some better seating around the track and improved facilities would certainly improve spectator comfort levels! Great job highlighting this Toby.👍😃🏁
Does anyone have any gossip on what’s doing with the potential replacement of Archerfield speedway? Last I heard is that they were looking around yatala/stapylton (Southside of Brisbane/midway between Gold Coast & Brisbane)! From Brisbane & have Been to t/bar a few times since Archerfield closed but having to pay for accommodation a few hundred a night kinda gets overwhelming & have to allocate near $800-$1k for a weekend to watch sprintcars when they are on at t/bar!
