I have a question if the original steps needed to hatch is in the ballpark of around 2000 wouldn't it be possible if you were to keep count of your steps to save the game a little before it hatching is this possible since your soft resetting your randomizing the chance of it being shiny or not?
I know this is an old video but I'm playing white for the first time and I like to have at least one shiny on my team, hoping it'll be solosis! Love matching the ball to the shiny btw :)

Hey Olig, I know this is an older video but I have a question about cute charm. You said the glitch can activate a 1/5 chance for a shiny or drop it to 1/24000… is there no in between? Like maybe is there a trainer ID and secret ID combo that causes neither of these to be in effect? I’m wondering because I’m planning on hunting using cute charm but I know I don’t have the glitch for increased odds. Is it a lost cause to have cute charm in the front of the party because it’ll be the 1/24000 odds? Is there a way to check if you have the 1/24000 odds or something different?
Little time saver for the Pacifilog Method: if you’re leading Mon has Surf, you can swim across to the old man’s hut from the PokeCenter. Saves time on walking the entire path which you can’t run on. Only a few swim tiles so encounters are very unlikely, and can even repel before you save in front of PC since you’ll be soft resetting. I personally don’t repel for the chances of random shiny, plus the encounters wake you up a bit! GLHF
Congrat on the amazing shiny! Quick question but would it not be possible to backup the ranger file before sending the egg over and reload the save Or even reset the egg flag after sending it over?

I just set up this hunt, and to my understanding, white flute and illuminate do not stack. Is it still better to lead with lanturn and illuminate and use the white flute, or go your route with a level 31 run away poke and just use the white flute on its own?
I’m not sure what you mean? White flute and illuminate do stack, so the best option is running a fainted illuminater, use the white flute and have your first healthy Pokémon level 31 for the repel trick.
@Olig1 thanks for the response! I wasn't 100% sure they stacked. I'm running an illuminate lanturn with white flute and had seen you were using pooch and wasn't what the best strategy was. Thanks man!
