Very happy with this find, just such a good shiny in 3rd Gen. I remember finding the diving mechanic in Hoenn fascinating when playing the games when I was younger, so nice to have finally found a shiny down there.
Like I said in the video the repel trick averages about 95-110 seen/hr across two systems which is very doable.

Thats such an awesome shiny. Love the commentary. I know I am super late here lol but still! I love watching shiny videos while I hunt and I cant wait to see more of your shinies! Hopefully I can hunt relicanth soon also. Congrats and good luck on your next one

I just set up this hunt, and to my understanding, white flute and illuminate do not stack. Is it still better to lead with lanturn and illuminate and use the white flute, or go your route with a level 31 run away poke and just use the white flute on its own?

I’m not sure what you mean? White flute and illuminate do stack, so the best option is running a fainted illuminater, use the white flute and have your first healthy Pokémon level 31 for the repel trick.

Do you know if you can repel trick/sweet scent this?

You can repel trick it to 50% which I explain at the start of the video. You can also sweet scent it at its base 5%. You cannot do both at the same time.
