We are Brett and Rach, a New Zealand couple that jumped at a job offer to work in the USA for 3 months in 2020. We fell in love with the country and the people, so we kept extending our contract. Fast forward to 2023, we purchased a Dodge Ram Promaster to keep adventuring around the USA together. We lovingly named our van Jon VAN Jovi ❤️ We are cycling & hiking our way around the USA and documenting for our family & friends to see why we keep coming back. Bonus is, it has actually worked as a diary of our time here for ourselves. Consider subscribing to our channel so you can follow us in our adventures. We look forward to reading your comments & maybe even answering some questions we have at times.
I'm really enjoying your adventures in Banff--thanks for posting. I had to laugh at Google Maps' AI pronunciation of Minnewanka...we locals say "mini wonka", like Willy Wonka. Also, the sign you showed at 22:14 is specifically for scuba diving as opposed to just swimming. Swimming isn't really recommended as the water is too cold (8-9 degrees Celsius). But there is a townsite, bridge, and older dam with residences submerged from the most recent damming of the lake that draws scuba divers who can mitigate the cold with dry suits (or wet suits if they don't mind being miserably cold).
@jillyf thanks, that's a great way to remember how to pronounce it 😀 Yes, that water is freezing 🥶 And great note !Thank you so much, I love when locals give more info....and we will certainly be returning. It's such a beautiful place and as I said, very well set up for tourists...thanks Banffs locals 👏
Hi there. No, none of the State Parks we did, excepted America the Beautiful. Sleeping Bear Dunes being a N.P of course does. And that does include the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive & Empire Bluff Trail as they are within the N.P. One State Park Entry Fee does give you multiple State Park Entries for that day.. keep that in mind for your planning. Hope that helps
So if you are planning on visiting multiple Michigan state parks / visiting state parks for multiple days, you can get a non-resident annual recreation passport. It's just important to note that it is tied to the vehicle registration and not the person. So you can get it for a rental car, but it's going to be tied to that the rental car (you couldn't transfer it to another car if you switched cars for whatever reason). It's $40 for non residents (vs. $11 for a day pass). So if you visit state parks for at least 4 days you have saved money getting the pass. But it only works for Michigan state parks not for other states. Just google Michigan recreation passport. As a resident, I can't say exactly how it works because we can do it when we register our car but looks like you can do it online.
@user-kc8yt7ox8q Thanks 😊 We were there at the end of June through to early July, picking ours, but I think the picking season round Traverse City, runs from early June to early August. I would highly recommend the Cherry Festival at Traverse City.
@alisonflaxman1566 Hi Alison, you are right we didn't...and probably are the only tourists not too 😀 But the weather had turned bad by the time we were heading there..and every person on the island seemed to have the same idea. So, something special to do next year, on our return, as it does look so grandeur and beautiful plus it's history ❤️
Excellent video. I used to live in southwest Michigan and loved how beautiful it was and being close to the lake. I was glad to see you talking about the cherries.
@@BrettandRach Your channel content is really great. Your channel is not getting views and subscribers because your video titles, descriptions and video tags are not optimized. For this, you need to optimize your video titles, descriptions and tags properly. First you need to find the perfect keywords related to your video and then put those keywords in the titles, descriptions and video tags section.
You surely did pronounce Cuyahoga right. I was born and raised near the Frazee house and my youngest sister still lives in the same house. The older sister lives just up the hill from MD Garage. That was a lengthy ride you two made.
Thanks, always try hard to get the names right. Wow, what a beautiful area to grow up in, surrounded by such beauty. A place we knew nothing about but so glad we were able to explore 😊
@@BrettandRach as kids we would hike into the valley a lot. I would think so many others didn't realize what it was like. Well it wasn't a National Park back then also. Just the valley. Did you get time to visit The Emerald Necklace Metro Parks? It's also amazing and long and over 100 years old.
I just discovered your channel planning a trip to Acadia. I live near the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and enjoyed this video about CVNP. We love it here!
Thanks 😊 The weather was magic!! Seawall Campground was our fave due to the feel of being out in nature without the hoardes of people. The camp sites are done in such a way, that you feel like you have the place to yourself.
Your video is very nice. I researched your channel and found that there are quite a few subscribers but still the videos are not getting many views. Because your video is not going in front of many people. I think doing SEO can solve the problem. Because after doing SEO, when someone searches for a video related to your video on RU-vid, they will see your video first. Moreover, RU-vid will automatically move your videos in front of them. Then you will get new subscribers and viewers. Your video’s SEO score is 0/100. Solve this problem then you will get more subscribers and viewers. Thank you.
