RAGBRAI 2023 was a blast... better late than never sharing our week of fun with you all 😁
Just in case you don't know what RAGBRAI is, RAGBRAI stands for...
Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, and it's an 8 day rolling festival, and we took part the year it celebrated its 50th RAGBRAI
👊 Was it hilly, hot, and with issues???? Yes it was!!! But that didn't stop us 4 New Zealanders from having one of the best weeks together ❤️
Issues that occurred:
*Bretts bike - 1 broken Spoke
1 buckled wheel
*Megans bike - Gears issue, easy fix when we found out the gear shift battery just needed charging 🫣😅
*Tornado taking out our tents on the last night, so we slept in the school gym
*Hot, Hot and Hot 🔥 🥵
Our charter was Central Iowa Charters, which was fantastic to arrive each evening to our tent erected and bags waiting for us.
Big thanks to T.J Tollakson from Dimond Bikes, Des Moines who rented Jamie and Megan fantastic bikes for the week and also our new found friends Vicky and Mark from Ames, who feed us, hydrated us and welcomed us into their home like long lost friends...Iowa Nice at its finest ❤️
The biggest thanks go to Jamie and Megan for flying from NZ to join us on this crazy cool week ❤️
