I used to listen to this song to sleep at night when I was sad and alone but now. I have a loving girlfriend and it just feels so weird. I hope one-day someone reads this comment and feels how I do now. Happy ❤
A few years ago, I lost a friend, and we spent countless hours playing and talking about halo. He was like a brother. Life tends to knock you down and just keep kicking, after he passed, I have become a shadow of myself, my anxiety has gotten worse, my body can't tolerate certain foods now and so much else. But I keep waking up even though sometimes I wish I didn't. It hurt like hell, but we gotta live for those no longer with us. Stay strong spartans, and be there for eachother, because we never know how quickly people can suddenly be gone.

When I was young, I had the coolest uncle who introduced me to halo for the first time. I remember I was so mesmerized and throughly enjoyed halo 3 and odst. When he passed in 2017, I remember playing this soundtrack and crying, because it reminded me of him and how fun times were back then. I still miss him and the nostalgia this ost brings.
I come here when I am unsure of what to do and I’m in a point in my life I’m not sure what to do anymore it just seems like every direction I turn I get the door slammed in my face.

I haven’t been here in over a year. Life was really down, then a little up, but not really, just down again. Pretty down. So here I am. I honestly can’t even play halo or my other childhood games anymore. It’s like torture doing it alone. It’s physically painful to watch that loading screen and be taken back to a time without pain, loneliness, and hopelessness. It’s funny how as we get older and more numb to pain and difficulty, we shrug it off, we cry less. But this, this will always break me. I will never not cry here. And that’s ok. Insomnia has been tearing me apart piece by piece, ever so slowly. And it just keeps getting worse. Every year that goes by, I lose another chunk of myself, who I am. I want to go MIA. But I can’t. I guess I’ll remember writing this a year from now as a little hooray, you didn’t pull the trigger. You kept going, even though you didn’t know why, or for what. I am ever so lucky to have good memories, but ever so cursed to know I will live and never have them again. The Rookie is probably the most relatable game or movie character I’ve ever encountered. Alone, in a dark world, with almost no hope. I will never forget the immersive magic of playing the first time. What I would do or give to experience that again. To feel true joy and excitement again. To believe that those good days were never going to end. Those days are years passed. The spark in me is long dead. The kid in me is confused and sad in his cell. Wondering why it’s been so long. Wondering why he hasn’t come out to play and have fun. He doesn’t know, and I can never tell him that. Just in case, by some miracle, there comes a day where I’d be happy to be alive again
Day 3 of being homeless and this still calms me down. Im currently layin down on the street with nothing but my backpack, even tho life is at its worst, i finally found peace in all the mayhem, this song is helping me thru the depression
My parents use to tell me to enjoy my childhood while it lasted, I would roll my eyes every time they did. I understand now. I miss being online with y’all back in the early 2000’s

For i lay here in the dark... wondering why so much has fallen so far... from even the normal has gone nearly rare and extinct to a age of division, opinions, criticisms, and worst of all my home scattered and lost with none for me there to sit with no longer... no one to hear me for what consumes me... and my words uttered in this temporary domain for i am some what nomadic jumping to those who will take me in for a time before i am not needed no longer... wishing to build a life but the worse thing... i have no self sadly... who am i... other than a strong physique and a obedient regiment... what was i before... a lad who was a entertainer at heart who wanted the world to learn and see my wisdom and happiness to spread... a artist who wanted to reveal my creativity in mind and my absolute unrelenting positivity that could rival the sun... only to be shunned and ruined by my families enforced ideals and judgement... that i was knocked down now not as great and wanted to do... a contradiction i am... like a red sun that doesn't even shine light a star that doesn't glow bright... the contradiction of being naive and hopeful with being logical and honest... understanding both sides completely but yet being torn apart of not choosing a side that i hate both for... another contradiction of me... loving all things hating everything... am i broken once i asked... but knew i wasnt... so in truth i am a sad lad who has little to no people... please like for i want to know who gets it... being a contradiction... may all find sanctuary in my words for who is like me... I'm going to use this comment as a way for me to talk to someone, anyone. My father recently passed away and I miss him very very much. I don't really have anyone to talk to and honestly, I could use a hug. I don't know what to do with myself, I can barely sleep at night. I'm not good with feelings so I suppress them until they become too much for me to handle. It hurts so so much.
@sebbo59 My condolences. One thing I would impress onto you is to talk with people as you mentioned. Another is finding a thing that will let you vent those feelings, could be exercise or painting or driving somewhere you've never been before. Maybe thinking thoughts through that cross your mind. Cherish the good memories that you've made with him. Please don't be afraid to accept help from others. I hope this helps even a tiny bit of a fraction.
i missed out on Halo's best years. i only started playing at the beginning of this year and i care about it so much, but it's not just the games themselves. a dear friend of mine loves Halo more than i do and convinced me to get the games and we played through the campaigns in co-op on the MCC. there are so many special memories associated with these games because of him. this year has been the hardest of my life and it's still going and i really did think about bailing out a few times. it was yet another awful year in my overall shit life and i genuinely didn't think i could take it anymore but my friend was there for me, always, and Halo exists to me now as something deeply meaningful. the games are amazing, of course, and the characters are dear to me by virtue of amazing writing, but i never would have known any of it if it weren't for him. he's the kindest person ive ever known and genuinely my best friend. i might not be here now if he hadn't been there, constantly, pestering me every evening to get online and chew through the campaigns again and again. every playthrough is full of memories of bad times made bearable. missions that took an hour because we were too busy beating up an Elite corpse or ones that ended abruptly because we drove a warthog into a scarab and the collision twatted it. and i remember laughing and smiling and talking at the end of my loneliest days. there's a distinct comfort in the games now - my reason for continuing to breathe when i really didn't want to. i usually made fun of people who talked about a certain media saving them but i think i get it now. maybe halo saved me. which is a really roundabout way of saying that the power of friendship and amazing video games made me not want to kill myself. i didn't come this far just to give up now. im obviously not going to be freed from the shackles of autism related mental illness by virtue of playing halo three again, but someone is there for me when things get difficult again. i have no idea how to thank him
