Thank you pal! She made the day a hell of a lot better that’s for sure! It’s a Daiwa 5.9m iso handle. Really comes in handy for when you spot a place like that but have no way of getting to the bank. Not cheap but well worth it imo 👍🏻
Cool video bro! What a tank you caught there! I couldn't believe my eyes when it came to the surface, i thought it was a pike! 😂 amazing place even the smaller perch were a few notches better than the ones we have up here in the North west. 🤜🏼🤛🏼
@insearchofperch8170 yeah bro, we were a bit sad in the beginning because we didn't managed to be on the boat in the morning but we really managed to turn it into a very positive day! It was really fun!👌🏼
Cracking fish that, very nice angling 😀👍 I’ve just got back from the outer Hebrides, managed one proper rock fishing session between gale force winds. Lots of coalies and a few pollock, but those pollock must be the hardest fighting fish for their size. 20-50g rod fully bent over, pumping it like a madman so that it doesn’t break you off in the rocks, and it’s only a two pounder 😂
@@insearchofperch8170 - you’ve definitely got to try it! Just need a few heavy metal lures for casting in very windy conditions. Tbh is worth going just for the scenery and amazing beaches, any fishing is a bonus. Back to chasing perch tomorrow 😀
Stunning perch, congrats. The Thames in Oxford is my local. The Karen who spoke to you at Osney Lock is the lock keeper, lost count how many run ins I've had with her. Every time I say to her, where are the No Fishing signs around Osney Lock, there are none yet every time she insists it's no fishing. Every time I go, I take photos of the signs at the lock and not one of them says No Fishing.
Cheers Andrew 👍🏻 you’re a lucky man to have that water on your doorstep that’s for sure! Yeah to be honest she seemed like the kind of person that takes great pleasure in throwing orders around. You get them everywhere I suppose. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👊🏻
Yeah, I was telling will after she came out with her coffee mug in her hand, I bet she was looking out the window, seen us fishing and was like "ohh there's people having fun, i better go outside and put and end to that quickly"😂😂
She was saying we couldn’t fish there due to it being environment agency land. We weren’t on the land so there was no issue but I cba arguing with people. Just crack on and enjoy the day haha 👍🏻
Great video! Got another question though as I've been looking at a baitcaster setup. I'm currently rocking a 1-5g spinning set but I'm looking for something a tad heavier too that I can chuck a few Pike lures on. What's the combo you got going there?
Cheers mate appreciate it! That one I’m using is a 22 Aldebaran bfs with a expride bfs 3.5-10g. Tbh a 10-30g rod and a 2500 - 3000 size spinning reel would do the job. Don’t really need fancy stuff to chuck lures around. I suppose it depends on budget and the weight range your going to be throwing 👍🏻👊🏻
What an absolute fantastic video and out of the blue aswell I love the surprise What a fantastic session the two best blokes in fishing and bloody well done on that momma Perch especially on a light set up I’m over the moon superb utterly superb lads just can’t praise you enough Two top Bro’s Top Notch 👍🏼🎣🐳🍻🎸🎩⚙️🎸🤘🏽👊🏼❤️
Mate, loving the small stream stuff! Just done one for my channel too! TBH you dont really need to hold bottom at all, just enough shot for casting weight is enough and let it drift with current (very natural presentation!) Or use a wee pencil float. Got yourself a new sub 👍
@@soultrader57fishingandmusi25 cheers pal, il have to have a go at that next time 👍🏻 thanks v much il jump over to yours and do the same 👍🏻 tight lines mate 👍🏻👊🏻
I know that swim well 😉 had some lovely Grayling out of there.......Nice to see you tick another species off the list Will 👏👏👏 hard to get to that swim though......might go down with hedge cutters and sought it out........some banging Trout in there also.......my neighbour Liam had a mega 4lb plusTrout out that swim on a worm
Yeah man not the easiest to get to 🤣 nearly strangled myself getting down there but was worth it. Deff want to get down there again and fish it slightly differently but it’s getting there when it’s not flooded as you know. Thanks for watching mate 👍🏻👊🏻
@ianbourne9970 yeah caught a tiny one on a lure not so long back. Some cracking fishing just need to get on my toes to see if I can access more of it. As you know it’s well overgrown in most places 👍🏻👊🏻
That’s brilliant well done! The Dane is a cracking stretch of water with some cracking fish to go along with it 👍🏻 what sort of area do you fish? Tight lines 👍🏻👍🏻
@@insearchofperch8170 just getting into river fishing so gonna stick with that Prince Albert stretch then might go over to the Dee by Aldford, what’s that like?
@Myles989 great stuff! Yeah learn a bit on a smaller river then head to a bigger stretch. Not to sure on Aldford but fished eccleston and farndon either side and it’s good on its day. Some nice pike and perch to be had. Not sure about other species though. 👍🏻
Thank you mate 👍🏻 haha yeah I noticed whilst I was editing and left a lil note in the bottom right hand corner when I got it out but it was small 🤣 something different for me but really enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👍🏻
What a great session 👍 Any style of fishing that doesn’t require a barrowful of gear is fine by me. Really jealous about the grayling, prettiest fish in the river. I’ve never caught one and was thinking about having a go later in the autumn/winter when the perch start hiding.
Thanks mate! Something a bit different that I’ve wanted to do for a while. Yeah they feed year round apparently so would deff be worth having a go for them! Tight lines ace 👍🏻👊🏻
Lovely video bro yes I would like to see you do some more of this type of fishing we just wonna see a bend in the rod and some fish I’ve never cought any Grayling what a beautiful fish the lady of the stream Top notch 👍🏼🎣👊🏼🍻
Yeah they are tsurinoya lures. They are under TSURINOYA Fishing Lure Grub 63mm 0.7g 40pcs Light Game. But if you type in tsurinoya grub on AliExpress they should come up. 2 quid for 40 quality lures. Can’t go wrong 👍🏻👊🏻
Always worth trying different retrieves with speed, pauses etc. think in that video it was still early season so slow and low was the best method on the day 👍🏻👍🏻
@@insearchofperch8170 Yeah I've been doing a bit of research into it all. A lot of it looks quite inaccessible too. I was thinking to fish the area closest to me which is the long stretch before it reaches the locks that connect with the ocean. Thanks a lot for the reply!
Cheers mate, some lovely fish in there! I think it’s whenever they decide to open locks on there sections can become a good couple of feet higher/lower depending where it’s done. Thanks for watching 👍🏻👊🏻
Really nice fish there mate 😀👍Think I’d find a stretch of canal that wide really daunting. My usual haunts only need a small flick to reach the far bank! Is it hard to find the fish, or do they generally stay in the same area?
Cheers mate had a few decent ones out of there recently. It’s a matter of doing a bit of walking to find them really. There not to difficult to find. If you find the bream or baitfish your on them 👍🏻👊🏻
Gorgeous perch, definitely feeling inspired to get out and do some perch fishing - feels like it's been a while since I've caught a good one. Keep it up!
@@insearchofperch8170 I had exactly that same sort of bream the other day, absolute slap, foul hooked when jigging on the light kit, went like an absolute rocket
