Not 50. But 25 is too little. I live in New York City, and I frequently rented mopeds that top out at 30 miles per hour. That was sufficient for the City; and it was also feasible (though, admittedly, a bit more difficult) outside the city limits. If this car could do 30, it would be perfect.
Solid review, very informative and to the point. I'll be in the market for a used '21 Mach E as my Fusion Energi is getting a little long in the tooth.
@@EVRider Mine is a 2016 Fusion Energi Titanium, had a 2012 Fusion Hybrid before that. Ford has definitely come a long way in the hybrid/ev space. My other alternative was the Polestar 2 but after looking at equivalently priced used '21s of each car, the Mach-E gets my vote for the extra 100 miles of range alone.
Just got my Mach E about 6 weeks ago. Taking first road trop from Las Vegas to Reno - 460 miles each way. Not far, but it will be our first road trip test! 2024 Mach E Premium Standard Range. One part of the trip is mountainous, so we will see how that goes
The main benefit is driving experience - way more power then my 2L turbo (even with dead battery), almost no turbo-lag, more efficient then my 2L Turbo in the city driving by 3-5 MPG with dead battery, and way more efficient then V6 (especially with ESS=off). Don't know why people compare it to various junk like Tesla?
The Wrangler 4xe is in a class of its own at the moment. Jeep made a smart call debuting a plug-in hybrid Wrangler until it can get a full EV Wrangler platform perfected.
IT's a small thread. If the solar panels become efficient enough, then it's a good choice. But it may as well happen that battery themselves become too good, and you'd have a 1.000 km ev car that can also charge in 5min. In those conditions, roof solars are a waste of money. They are even now, if you consider recent Tesla cars updates.
I’m a bit concerned of the significant price reductions on new Zero bikes. It’s almost like Zero is unloading them. Why, I don’t know. Could be nothing, but just an observation.
I'll take the optimistic position and say hopefully it's a sign that Zero is finally making it into the mainstream . I don't have any inside information but Zero has opened a factory in the Phillippines so in theory its production volume should be going up and its costs coming down. Many legacy motorcycle companies have often used discounts to boost sales. Why should Zero be any different? And let's not forget that compared to ICE bikes Zeros are still expensive. If the Chevrolet Volt was that good on EV range and better on L2 charging, Why isn't it still in production, like the Prius, it has been going since 1997
Chevy dropped the Volt saying at the time it was all in on EVs. What's ironic is now GM is backtracking and has announced it will get back into plug-in hybrids, although it has not announced whether the Volt might return.
Does it have standard lane keeping and adaptive cruise control that’s not part of the blue cruise system? For example, my friends Honda Civic can stay in the lanes and stop for traffic without hands on the wheel.
Yes, it has regular adapative cruise and lane keeping as well but for it it to be truly hands-free Blue Cruise must be activated. While its lane keeping and adaptive cruise control will still work when Blue Cruise isn't active the car will tell you to put your hand back on the wheel every 20 seconds or so if Blue Cruise isn't activated.
So I have the same vehicle, he says he's averaging 31 miles per gallon which obviously is a lie. Now on the other hand, I love my Jeep and I bought it for the power not how efficient it is. But this review is so bogus it's absolutely ridiculous.
I don't understand your comment. Why would the owner lie about his fuel economy? The EPA rates the Wrangler 4xe at 49 MPGe when driven in EV-mode so his overall average of 31 MPG should be easily obtainable since he uses it primarily for around town trips and keeps it plugged in to maximize his EV miles. Or do you not understand how EV-only or primarily-EV commutes reduces overall gas consumption, thereby raising the overall mpg average? Of course if an owner doesn't keep his or her 4xe plugged in or tows or does primarily high mileage highway driving, the overall average would be much lower.
You missed a few points. They may have been in your previous videos. 1. Petrol stations rely on electricity, apart from a few old manually pumped stations in remote places. So when the power is out you cannot get petrol. 2. If you have a petrol powered generator you can siphon petrol out of an ICE car to run the generator. It is easier with an EV. 3. The severity and frequency of hurricanes increases the more oil is burned. So petrol anfd diesel vehicles are making the weather worse. The reason you have to evacuate is because of those ICE vehicles. 4. Go back a few decades and you didn't need air conditioning in the summer. In Kenya we just had overhanging roofs and lots of open windows. That is also something ICE vehicles have made worse.
I didn't mention the part about gas stations not working when the power is out because here in Florida newer gas stations are required by law to be able to run on generators during power outages. This law applies to gas stations built or significantly renovated after July 1, 2006. The law was passed in response to the 2005 hurricane season, which included Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. But to your point, many gas stations around the world don't have a backup power supply. Hey Guys, I have gotten up to 91Km (56+m), in EV mode with our 2024 Prime, and, 62mpg in hybrid mode. Love the car. This is our third Prius, but first Prime. Have had it for four+ months and only burned 14 gallons after 5,100 Km (3,200m). It makes us laugh.
@@EVRider Thanks, It's hard not to drive it quickly, so tempting to use its 0-60 of 6.48 sec. Instant torque from the EV side spoils you. We love this car. our third Prius.
Just picked up a 2020 Mini Cooper S E in the UK with 4700 miles on the clock. It’s our second car and we just love bimbling about in it. Still only using public chargers at the moment due to work at our hose and can’t wait to be saving on the topping up costs when I get to charge at home. Great review thanks. Chris
How much juice can you pull from the Mach-E in a situation like this? I just picked up a Mach-E Premium AWD Ext range back in April and I'm curious as we do tend to get quite a few hurricanes and tropical storms that take out the power.
My Mach-E's 12-volt outlets each have a max of 180-watts, according to Ford. So to be safe running them hours or days at a time I'd say don't exceed 125-watts, which totals 250-watts. That should be enough to run LED lights, a few fans, computer, etc. Here's a link to Ford's manual: www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?countryCode=USA&languageCode=EN&Uid=G2138465&ProcUid=G2181241&div=f&variantid=7430&vFilteringEnabled=False&userMarket=USA&buildtype=web
Gas car people always seem to forget that gas stations are powered by electricity. EVs are extremely efficient in the stop and go traffic typical of evacuations, so you’re not burning range while idling. And if you stick around, it’s not like you’re going to be commuting anyway. Looking forward to those EV moto reviews!
True but in the owner's case he had other goals opposed to just maximizing range. Of course a Prius Prime would be much more efficient with aerodynamics, weight and tires. However, the person that buys a Prius and the person that buys a Wrangler probably have very different use cases.
hi. just came accross your video on my t v. took awhile to find you on my p c so that i could comment. liked your intervue .some good info there. was wondering if you have looked into vinfast, the vf3 has caught my eye. stopped in to the vin fast dealer here in fort lauderdale. they say in may be here in the fall. the have the vf6 base and the vf6 pluss but the are 47k. too rich for my blood. the vf3 is supposed to be about 20k and elegible for the 7500 fed credit. they are building a factory in north carolina so it will quallify. would like to know if you have any thoughts on it . thanks ron
I think with a lighter bike like yours you could probably back off a little on the tire pressure to soften the ride up a bit. I think with an 800 pound Harley the higher pressure would be more appropriate
they're a dime a dozen around town nowadays, but let me know if you could make use of an MYP for a comparison drive with Mach-E and Ocean. maybe for a video about "budget performance". also I put the acopower fridge in the trunk if you want to check that out. I'm over in Lakewood.

I bought my Mulholland two and a half weeks ago already racked up 1,500 miles within that time period. first thing before leaving the dealership was having them flip the mirrors left for right which flipped them up and now you’re not having to look so far down just to see behind you. Lots of visits to level 2 chargers some free some not but as of the typing of this comment none of the charging apps go beyond 2022 so it only recognizes the Livewire Type One. This leads to every charging stop I meet a lot of people with tons of questions and interest despite some criticism online from those range anxiety folks.
@@EVRider From the article: "On July 3 the EV fleet manufacturer announced Go2 Delivery is buying five EV delivery vans with an option to buy 85 more." Five vans is not much of a fleet order. I'm pro-EV and drive one myself so I'm not looking at this from a biased anti-EV perspective. I live in Oklahoma City (site of their factory) and have been following Canoo for a while. I find it interesting that Canoo is renting time on the CEO's personal jet. Canoo spent twice its own annual revenue to use the CEO's jet. Straight from the company coffers into the CEO's bank account. The entire thing smells rotten.
@@jonn7877 You missed the real news. Canoo received the assembly line equipment. The assembly should be ramping up soon. Canoo already has over 3 Billion in pre-orders. At full capacity, it'll take more than 2 year to fill these existing orders. We need the factory to get up to speed, then more orders will come.
@@jonn7877 summed up a response to your concerns nicely. Please see his comment. While I don't know whether Canoo will make it long term, it is apparent the company is making strides toward high volume production with billions in orders lined up. As for the jet fiasco, I agree it's a bad look, but then again, CEOs have been using private jets for decades. Hopefully the CEO will be more thoughtful about expenses and appearances going forward.
This is a 3D video intended for viewers with virtual reality headsets or VR glasses. For users that don't have VR, the video is encoded a 2nd way using Anaglyph 3D. That's the 3D format that requires red/blue glasses like the ones handed out at movie theaters for 3D movies. Without 3D glasses or VR a 3D video will not display properly. great review man. you need to step up to some Modern ratchet straps. you need to get yourself some some retractable ratchet straps brother and you won't have to work as hard
Shame the company is goig tits up then. Don't look at the product, look at the balance sheet, or the 99% fall in share price. 22 vehicles delivered in 2023!
@@EVRider Piffle. This company spent 1.7 million dollars leasing the CEOs private jet in a year their total earnings were only 900,000. It's a scam. They lost 200 million in the last 12 months. Who would invest in a company run so obviously as a boondoggle for the "executives"?
Did an electric conversion in 2015, still going strong. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UOkF-TnSICs.htmlsi=LsgvOjqi3H-PfgMj Diesel heater helps a bunch.
Thanks for this video. I’m in Miami and my car flooded two weeks ago. For that reason electric seems like a great move. Thanks for giving me the push to get it. I had a British Racing Green and the EV is the same gorgeous color! Happy Eving! There is also a $4k tax break here for getting the EV!!! Win-win!
Oh man, so sorry to hear your car flooded but congrats on the MINI! We've now got over 30k miles on ours and still love it. It's a well built car that constantly puts a smile on my face.
I'm so glad average people I meet in the real world are starting to be aware of Lucid. Driving my Air GT for just over 2 years, among the most common questions I have been asked was "Who/What is a Lucid?" More and more now I hear some variation of "I've been looking at Lucids online, but this is the first one I've seen." In any of the versions the Lucid Air is an amazing car. So much so that many 'enthusiastic' Tesla fans and investors feel threatened and have been posting exaggerated negative things about the car and the company. That is unfortunate. There is room enough in the market for both companies. They really sell do different markets. Tesla sells today to people leaving Toyota/Honda/GM while Lucid steals customers from the Mercedes/BMW/Audi market. The base Air GT is close to the same price as a base Model S but driving each will show that they have very different characters.
You've got a great car! I'm so impressed with what Lucid has some up with. I'm not sure what anyone can say negative about the Air itself, other than small nit picks that for the most part come down to personal preferences. As for the company, I'm rooting for them. Lucid makes a solid product.
@@EVRider Thanks. You’ll see lots of comments by the Tesla crowd about Lucid’s finances. That is the main topic now since there are enough Lucids on the road and in showrooms to undermine the digs at the car itself. Lucid has a trillion dollar fund as majority and controlling owner, so sales are attacked and the funds Saudi roots are attacked. Meh. They are just in a panic about their own heavy investments in Tesla’s distracted and drug addled leader.
