Pretty poor instructions. Nothing about prep of surface, do's and don't, how to apply around curves, air bubbles, techniques of removing detergent, does it stretch, will applying heat work on curves. ..... just stick it on lol
Hi there, thanks for the feedback. If you'd like more detailed instructions head to our blog here: www.washrider.com/blogs/wrblog/how-to-protect-your-surfski-rails-or-kayak-deck-from-paddle-scuffs
@@Washrider I eat my own words. The reason u didn't include details is because this stuff is so easy to apply. I placed an order and received it 2 days later, it went on like magic by simply following the instructions in the above video. My apologies for my above comment. Your application is way better than altrex skin, thank you!
Very informative video. I've not seen a description of the effect of a 'winged' old-style kayak on the boat movement before. Makes me want to get a new boat! (I currently have a Cleaver-X.)
I have a new kayak that has light polyurethane paint scratches. Could you advise me on how to proceed and where to get a small amount of orange polyurethane paint?
I haven't used a coloured paint but rather an araldite two part epoxy glue. If you want to colour match it's best ot use a gelcoat. Or if it's a large enough job just get your local panel beater (car body repairer) or kayak repairer to detail it and complete the colour match.
Hi Matt, we would be too bias as we distribute the Dynamic and think it is sensational and balanced for the speed it can do. However, here are links to two other reviews: www.acquaexcel.com/2018/05/20/k1-dynamic-roman-fondo-piatto/ wwwjaviermelus.blogspot.com/2017/09/k-1-dynamic.html?m=1
@@Washrider thanks. I just perused the reviews and one seems to be a copy/translation of the Roman website and the other is ....well... Interesting. (I think some of the enthusiasm is lost in translation). It's ok if you are biased, just reveal your biases ahead of time in your video. Or do repeats (1km) on flatwater one in a Cinco/legacy/vajda and the next in the Roman. Hold a consistent HR (aerobic zone 2?) -i think a number of us would like to more of it; it's so unique.
I purchased these from your website over a month ago, and have not received them nor has anyone responded to my emails. 50 bucks for two screw tensioners is outrageous but I really thought it was a great concept. Definitely will not recommend!!!
Hi Peter, this is quite late but an epoxy resin glue will work best. Nelo's will work fine with this but they're a really nice ski, perhaps a professional job here might be worth the hundred dollars or so for a simple repair. Feel free to send us a photo and we'll put it past a guy here who repairs heaps of skis. Kieran
Hey j Kara, there's a reason for that. I'd only received the kayak a day before this race and had to drive from Germany. I obviously don't have my leg length on point. I think you'll find in my other videos my legs get to work though. Thanks for watching! Have you raced the Waterland before?
hi, i use adhesive aluminium instead for it sticks more closely without bubbles. For the color, try a two components epoxy and add powder for color: toner black ( printer) or from a peace of chalk from the desired color. Tune the color by adding more or less powder.
hi I just bought a fully red zedtech nelo coppy, I want to paint bottom half of the kayak black could you please give me some advice on how to do this??
Hi Kieron, I've used the same brand as the kayak I use so Roman Kayaks swivel seat for a Roman, Nelo for a Nelo etc. The one in the video is a Vajda swivel seat on their new seat platform. I don't use one anymore though as I found a high back seat was a better fit for me and my stroke. Where abouts do you paddle? It might be worth getting in touch with a local coach to sort your technique out before experimenting/investing in seats.
Mate, hectic is only the beginning! In the words of the Irish paddler Tom Brennan "your heart is pounding that hard in your chest, and you've had too many espressos that the next thing you know you're 3km down the river not knowing how you got there" Have you raced it yourself Conor?
+Wash Rider I haven't I'm afraid I'm pretty much land locked to the UK so mainly do the waterside series and numerous harbour races, I am however looking to go abroad and attend these multisport races such as the Liffey descent first probably.
hi, thanks for the video. what is the impact on the stability of the boat if You use swivel seat? will the boat feel more wobbly if I replace the "normal" seat with swivel seat?
Hi, I think it depends on what you get used to. Having paddled a swivel seat in white water river races for a few years comfortably I think it is about time in the kayak at the end of the day. A swivel seat will allow for more leg drive to be applied. Where do you paddle? It might be worth asking the local coach or top paddler to watch your stroke and correct other issues before changing seats.
I'm thinking of modding my standard seat to swivel, what difference do you think the high back on a swivel seat makes? do you recon i would end up falling off of a standard seat shape if it was allowed to rotate?
Hi lendoggtheking, I think you could get away with it. Things to keep in mind with your DIY are the teflon discs being easily replaced. Chad Meek from Meek Paddles, uses icecream container lids instead of the expensive teflon material. Also the bearing or middle pin needs a wide support than current models as this is how I've destroyed several swivel seats from multiple brands. Let us know how you go and if you have any more questions just post them here.
Hi Mark, well spotted with the guy at the start. He recovered to finish well though. The starts with the rope are pretty dangerous, I learnt from the Villa del Carrion (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lwe_ZBZOqLg.html) and Krumlov (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ibxTp06vs_k.html) to start to the sides. Thanks for the encouragement, I'll have one more European race video in the coming weeks with the Ardeche race in France. Have you done any of these races?
Hi Eamon, I'm staying out of trouble. Italy was a blast with the Adige, you guys should double it up next year with the Krumlov! How's the Irish winter treating you?
Great video of my favourite race! I see Simon Grennell (in the red Elio) kept you company for a good distance. A talented young local paddler from Celbridge.
Yes its a great race and plenty to keep the mind active. I believe the red boat belongs to Ryan O'Connor of Salmon Leap CC. I trained with him a bit in Spain for the Sella. But your right, a talented young paddler either way.
I was in a wavehopper...so gp. Class...it had been 2006 that i was on the Liffey for the Descent that year...this time i ran some of the chicken runs...visited the stoppers on the Wren, which made me swim and ran a perfect line on Palmerstown...your line was much nicer. Cheers
The spray is a clear enamel from any good hardware store.
Thanks Victorino, have you paddled there before? We'll be sharing more video of the ICF Classic Marathon Series in the coming months so stay tuned!
Yes Ponte a ola, Trovi dida great job with the technical terms in English. It's a great kayak too, the flat area in the hulls banana really makes it turn well. Have a go of it and post your thoughts here.
