first off, Austin was justified. he dumped two drivers for a win which IS crossing a line. it does work but only if you earn it. Austin wouldve earned it truly if Stenhouse didnt live up to his nickname. you cant bash Austin anymore for "winning" Richmond when he COULDVE won it. kid got desperate.
The worst part is because of how goofy this first round is, at worst, Harrison Burton might only be towards the middle of this list. Which is incredible, really, that i don't think he can collapse worse than 2021 Michael McDowell.
The Gordon Wreck: Supposedly The in-Car Footage was so Violent from the Wreck ( it apparently shows Gordon's Helmet, Head and Right arm were flung forward so Far his helmet actually went between the gap between the shoulder rest and the steering wheel.) That they refused to show it on TV.
I’ll die on a hill by saying that the regular season champion should go straight to the final four as a true reward for being the fastest and most consistent driver out of the regular season.
Not enough people talk about the wild card "win and your in" format of the Chase before 2014's playoff system was introduced. 10 drivers made it in the Chase on points and 2 drivers from outside the top 10 made it in with a win. I much prefer the current format.
I know slap gets it wrong every time he mentions it funny enough. That format started in 2011 and ended in 2013. 2007-10 was 12 in points wins don’t matter you could have 4 wins and not be in the playoffs if you were 13th in points after Richmond. 2004-06 was same but only 10.
@@dennisbowen452yes, although there was also a rule at one point that any driver outside the top 10 within 400 points of the leader makes it to the chase anyway, so if McMurray in 2004 didn't get a 25 point penalty he would've made it even if he was 11th in points
Funny you mentioned that, because I got to talk to him while at Phoenix this spring. We have some similar features but we definitely aren't long lost cousins. The man is 1 foot taller than me hahah
Yeah the playoffs stinks and we are so sick and tried of seeing our favorite drivers get screwed over because of the playoffs but you already know NASCAR isn't going to come back to regular season format anytime soon anyway so we'll just have to get used to it unfortunately.

@@boonedriverjust cause other very different sports do it doesn’t mean nascar should. When you can win 35 races in a row and get wrecked by a lap car on the last one and beaten to a title by a car like Harrison Burton that is a massive problem.
I think NASCAR should allow unlimited restarts with 3 laps to finish because there would be several chances for winners and many battles in the decisions to finish the races. Regarding the yellow flag on the last lap, the only thing I say is to improve and restart the race. If something happens on the track, a yellow flag is issued, announcing that there will be a restart. The grid organizes itself and restarts unlimitedly until the race actually ends. Will it take long? IT WILL, but only in this way so that the drivers can resolve themselves and actually finish the race so that it does not end in controversy and at the same time the track and NASCAR officialdom team do not have problems with the unlimited restarts of 3 laps and on the last lap as well, because throughout the history of the sport there have been several moments when they failed and did not throw the flags at the right time. I say this because it is real and it applies to all NASCAR series.
I was going to include it; however, he did somehow get some decent finishes near the second half of the chase that year. In 2006, he derailed from beginning to end.
I was at the 2022 talladega race. That was the only time I’ve ever been angry that there wasn’t wrecks or action. Literally the worst xfinity superspeedway race of all time
They did Mayfield wrong for sure. He was just hitting his prime when they screwed him over. Not sure what politics went down behind closed doors, but highly doubt Mayfield would have jeopardized his career to do meth. He had prescriptions for what was in his system. Adderalls generic name is amphetamine salts so I'm sure it could pop as positive for meth on some tests as well.
Chaotic is definitely a fair description for Robby but I don't know about evil. He's one of the nicest guys to his fans of any driver out there. If you seen him at the events with Cleetus McFarland you'd probably think differently of him. I'm sure he's probably a whole different person when he's racing though
Where is the Kevin LaPage blunder. That should not only be on the list but it should be #1 of the this list. Him pulling up into traffic on a Super Speedway when the pack is going twice as fast as him with the draft and LaPage coming off Pit Road. Instead of staying out of the way and getting up to speed and then try to hook onto the back of the pack and draft he causes an over a Million dollars in wrecked cars. That was a bad wreck where drivers could have been seriously hurt or died.
