Two of the best guitarists with one of the best songs and I got to see Eric Clapton with Mark Knopfler playing in Tacoma at the Tacoma Dome and they did this song as one of the encores and no one expected it because well Eric Clapton was the name on the tickets and I don't think my ears have ever stopped ringing since then and it wasn't because of the speakers it was because of the crowd when they heard this first notes out of these guitars they went absolutely a****** crazy and it was so much fun to see it and to hear it so I get goosebumps every time I hear this song
Dire straits seriously decided to make a song about installing microwaves and fridges and then proceeded to make it go as the hardest tune of all time🙏🙏
Page -n- Plant tribute tour era was decades experience to perfection. Plant Krause renditions even elite. Truly the best artists ever to take stage.Robert in his 70’s with reduced ability still blow doors off artist.Pride of England…..
this is my most listened to song ever on spotify - i wish this version was released, but i come to this version like every night and fall asleep to it. it’s so comforting. like the pure poetry of it and the way morrissey describes people is so beautiful. not just like “i’ll protect you”. he full on says “my life down i shall lie, if the bogeyman shall try, to play tricks on your sacred mind, to tease torment and tantalize; wavering shadows loom , a piano plays in an empty room, there’ll be blood on the cleaver tonight, and when darkness lifts and the room is bright i’ll still be by your side, FOR YOU ARE ALL THAT MATTERS AND ILL LOVE YOU TO THE DAY I DIE” that’s just like i have no words
Very cool - it’s good to see how Marr plays this live - I was fiddling around to the record version and I thought ‘ he’s overdubbing that part ‘ so I checked for a live version / this is beautiful. And I agree - Marr sounds great doing that vocal harmony. Andy Rourke - the under recognized beast in this band. He carries so many incredible bass melodies in their songs. Gives it the groove. Props to Rourke and Joyce. Joyce played perfectly for these guys .
My God I love this! Everything about it gives me chills and butterflies and happiness. Hands down one of my fav zep tunes and definitely my fav version. I want to Thank You!
