The main topic of this channel is old lifts (elevators). I also make other types of videos such as exploring various buildings or showing items from the lift industry.
I don’t upload very often, but I try to make the videos to a reasonable quality.
Always feel free to leave a comment on my videos! I normally reply. :-)
Thank you to everyone who watches my videos, it means a lot.

⛔️⚠️ It’s important to mention the many dangers which are present in lift motor rooms. They are not environments for the inexperienced, and one mistake could be the last thing you do. There are exposed terminals with voltages of up to 415 volts. If you touch them, they WILL kill you. Please do not put yourself into this dangerous environment without proper authorisation. ⛔️⚠️
Nice vintage Bennie elevator thought! I like how the buttons act as the Indicator. But is one guess problem missing the red indicator up here, how it there are not working anymore, hm?? -_-
The first one was in such a strange spot and like the other videos Ive commented on, the doors seem to mess up on these as well just typical old machinery behavior at its finest
@@Bombiedude. Yeah, that’s a very good point! The lifts home back down to the bottom floor after every use, and they open and close the doors every time. So basically it enters its self a normal car call back down. So I think that has something to do with it. I think on the ground floor, when you press the call button while the lift is already there, it uses the same part of the logic circuit as if you just pressed ‘door open’ from inside. The door open button has a no open timer also.
@@Lift.Tracker ok I was just getting the idea of it for if I visit the UK one day since Im from the US and they did things a tiny bit different back then
As Much As I Love Express Lifts and Dislike The Modernization Of Express Lifts I Think This One Definitely Needs Replacing Although This Looks Like Something Out Of A Horror Film It Could Have Possibly Been Installed In The 1970s Or 1960s Most Of The Non Glass Express Lifts In The Grosvenor Shopping Centre Northampton Were Installed In The 1970s and The Glass Ones Near HMV Installed In The 1990s
One of the lift seems to have an original controller as when you hold down the lift button for another floor before the lift has finished levelling. It will just move straight away to the other floor, but the other one won’t do that it will finish the call and open the doors.
@@Abdur-Rehman They’re both running on the original controllers from 1953. One of them just has a slight fault with one of the timers which would normally prevent that. :-)
Still original, I went there with my drop key and got straight in, but residents are complaining that the lift breakdown often, and sometimes the inner door fails to open the outer door
@@Abdur-Rehman That’s interesting how that’s happening. Wouldn’t usually expect that with the way which Express’s door design works. I can guess that either the wheels on the drive block (door lock) are extremely worn out, or the lock on the retiring cam isn’t engaging or is removed, meaning the cam is just springing back in when pressure is applied, meaning it loses grip on the outer door. Still a strange thing to happen by its self.
@@Bombiedude. Glass lifts were still fairly new at this time, and throughout the 1980s there were some very decorative designs for them. These being from the 90s is a continuation of that trend. Nowadays though, they don’t really make anything fancy with glass lifts which is a shame. It’s mainly all about making it as cheap as possible, and also with ‘mininaliam’ being trendy making things have little design to them.
Awesome video, next time I am doing an exploration of JR hospital at night, possibly 3am! There is a hidden evans lift with >2000 dewhurst but its usually out of order and 2 Kone monogoods aswell
Oh, heck?!!... That's scares me this elevator to find, heh... That is pretty so weird in that different elevator edge door! Hey, you becareful, what expect indeed are you doing this your job, mate... (Oh, jeez!!) 😨

@@Lift.Tracker You're not wrong there! sadly the Expresses in mount pleasant multi storey are still out of action, doesn't look like they'll work again anytime soon :(
@@VintageLiftLad Ah, that’s a shame. But very typical of anything owned by the council lol! Hopefully even if they do get modernised, then it will be a very cheap mod where they replace as little as possible!
Yaaayyyyy! Bennies are very interesting and epic imo! Do you know anything about the Bennie hydraulic at Sainsbury’s Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre? I really like that lift and want to know more on it
