@@SeemsFair 😅 I didn’t think I went that crazy! But yes, this motor was thoroughly broken in with over 12,000 miles. Definitely not a brand brand new car. Even if the car is newer, I never do anything with someone’s car, either private person, or dealership without getting their permission first. They told me I could rip this thing around and have some fun! Of course, I always do my best to be respectful of other peoples belongings, because they are very kind and generous to let me drive their cars for a RU-vid video. Also, I never do something in someone else’s car that I wouldn’t do with my own. I’m not sure if that means much though, because I drive the hell out of my own cars and bike too 😁 Nonetheless, I really hope you enjoyed the video anyway! If you were to build one by yourself it would cost around the ballpark of $300k or so. You pay a million dollars and still get all the nasty stuff on you when you need to empty the toilet by yourself. Just imagine what else you could buy for that amount of money. Would you really spend it on this if you already have multiple million dollars worth of houses, great cars, a yacht, perhaps a private jet, a massive class a motorhome and more disposable income then go for this? Or all you can save up just to buy this and nothing else. How can you justify such a purchase when you know it is anywhere from $500-700k over priced. You can build or get it build the same thing by yourself.
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews

@@RyanKry I have to agree, man. Don’t get me wrong, it is a SUPER dope RV. If I had unlimited/disposable money like a 1%er, I’d say sure, why not?! However, is this set up actually a good value for that price? I really don’t see it as well. Thinking about what you said, you could buy an insanely nice Class A RV, a trailer and a car to tow behind it, an actual house, and then probably still have enough money left over to travel the country for the summer. What if you already have a "ceramic" coating (it's about three months old). Can I use Torque over the existing coating?
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews 5 дней назад
I think it should be OK! What kind of ceramic coating is it? The same style as this (spray and buff on) or is it the liquid-gel type that you have apply with an applicator sponge? Either way, I don't think putting an additional coat of the Torque Detail ceramic spray would affect your existing ceramic coat in any negative fashion. If anything, I think it would just give it a little extra boost IMO. Also, I hope you thoroughly enjoyed my review on the product! Regulators said that pop up headlights were "too dangerous for pedestrians" and made them disappear. But hey, those monstrous SUVs and pickups flooding the market, the same ones that are so high that they literally driver over Miatas because they can't see them seem to be safe enough for them.... go figure lol
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews 5 дней назад
Well said! You are exactly right. I'll be perfectly honest with you… I feel like if I had to pick the lesser of two evils, I would much rather get hit by a Miata with its pop-ups on, versus a modern day F-150, or any truck for that matter! 😂 I actually heard of a study done a few years ago that essentially pointed out the fact that roads are becoming more and more dangerous every year. This is not only due to texting and driving/driving while impaired, etc., but also the fact that people are buying bigger and bigger vehicles every year. The study also pointed out that the height of the bumper on your average half-ton pick up truck (F-150, RAM 1500, Silverado, ect.) lines up perfectly with the head of a child of average height... That is not even considering the fact that it's harder for these huge truck drivers to see small children running out in front of them over their massive hoods... @DoubleClutchAutoReviews
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews 9 дней назад
Thank you! This car is actually not mine though. It belongs to a friend of mine. I'm not exactly sure if he had any issues with the headlights staying on. The only issues that he had as far as I know were that the clearcoat around the car was applied very poorly, so it was peeling in several spots. Also, we had an issue with it going into limp mode after getting on it hard a couple of times. It needed a decent amount of work at the Tesla dealership after that, even though the car was designed for what we were doing. Not perfect, but overall, a very high-tech and super fast car. It was an absolute boatload of fun to just punch it and get sucked back into the seat unlike any other car that I've been in before. Great job of covering the SEL's uniqueness. I've just passed 12k in mine, and it's one of the finest cars I've owned in 65 years of driving. It can be a bit noisy at speed, weight is the easiest way to achieve quiet, so you have to accept compromise. Fuel economy is vastly underestimated unless you insist on redlining. I rarely average less than 40mpg, and usually do low 40's, occasionally 45. Your mileage may vary. Thanks for clearing up the weight issue, indeed, as with the '22, it's 2612, about 22lbs/hp. The best approach is to let the transmission (a CVT by the way, but with a metal belt) do the shifting. On long descents one can choose a lower gear for improved engine braking. Obviously it would be nice to have LED lights on the SEL. But they aren't. OTH, as you point out, visibility is outstanding. No changes are planned for 2025, except maybe an additional color option The 1.6 engine could easily produce 141 hp, but it would have to go back to GDI, and we can't expect American drivers to buy only top tier or use Techron. Hyundai got burned a few years ago with valve issues so now they're super cautious.
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews 9 дней назад
Well said my friend! Yes, the LED headlights are significantly brighter. But like you said, you can't expect everything out of such a lightweight and affordable (for today's standards) car. Nonetheless, I'm very happy to hear that you love the car so much. My buddy seems to be happy with his so far as well. And that is impressive MPG! Especially considering that this is not a hybrid, those are fantastic fuel economy numbers. @@drinkingpoolwater I’m very happy to hear that the video helped you! So, to be perfectly honest, I’ll tell you a little bit about me, personally. I have a habit of overdoing pretty much everything in my life. You name it, I’m kind of just an extremist, especially when it comes to muscling something or tightening down bolts. Therefore, I was trying to tell myself to really go easier with tightening down the spark plugs instead of going too hard. Knowing myself, my thoughts were I’d rather under do it than overdo it. I went until it felt pretty snug, and then I gave it as much of a quarter turn as I thought was necessary before it felt like it was potentially getting too tight. Of course, to do this with utmost precision, you just need a torque wrench as I said in the video. However, I figured just being careful and doing it by feel was good enough for me. Otherwise, hope that explains my reasoning behind that, and I appreciate your comment! If you haven’t already, please make sure to leave me a like, also consider subscribing to the channel! I hated the styling when it came out, but it grew on me, and I bought a '23. I think the reason the styling grows on people is simply because we are always hoping for a good-looking car at each refresh--and why wouldn't we? Subaru says people always hate it at first, then it grows on them. And reviewers always say, "The WRX has never been a pretty car." Well, yeah, but why shouldn't they make it a good-looking car? Seems to me it would solve that problem, and they'd probably sell a ton more of them too. It doesn't have to be beautiful, just not so polarizing.
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews
@DoubleClutchAutoReviews 24 дня назад
Well said man. I'm not sure why that always happens when a new WRX is released. Do you think it has something to do with us as humans having a natural resistance to change?… Not to get so philosophical, but that seems to be the only answer as to why that happens. I truly can't think of any other model of car that is downright repulsive to 95% of the population when it first comes out, but then slowly overtime, not only becomes tolerable, but seems to be quite desirable by that point. 😅 It truly is a very unique characteristic, and it's still hard to understand why 😂 Nonetheless, I look back on this review, and I remember feeling that I felt like the new WRX was a very, very good car. Power was decent, handling was very good, and overall interior feel and build quality felt great for the price range. It wasn't perfect though, as I felt like the transmission was difficult to shift quickly at times, and that it took some real getting used to. However, I had someone else comment that a Kartboy short throw shifter made the world of a difference, and is a well worthy upgrade. Overall, I was impressed with the car, and I hope you thoroughly enjoy yours! 😎 Also, if you haven't already, please make sure to leave me a like, and also consider subscribing to the channel if you enjoyed the review!
