You did an excellent job reviewing the Plymouth Prowler, in fact the best I’ve seen yet. I have a red 1999 Prowler just like this one, have owned it for about 13 years, I purchased it from a small Dealership in Houston, Texas with 3,500 miles, I drove it back 900 miles to Northern New Mexico. Love the car very much, it is an attention getter and it gets lots of thumbs up. During the summer I was gassing it up when a gentleman visiting NM from Sweden parked directly behind me and asked if he can photograph the car, of course I let him and that guy surely left with a big smile on his face, he mentioned to me, “There are no cars like these in Sweden”. Fun fact indeed. You did an awesome job reviewing the Prowler! I have subscribed.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate that. 😎 and thanks for sharing your story! It’s a very unique end eye-catching car for sure. How do you like New Mexico? I’ve always wanted to take a trip out to all of those states out west. I’ve only been to California and Nevada so far, but I really want to explore and hike all of those beautiful national parks. One day! Anyway, I’m glad to hear you are enjoying your Prowler as you should. 😁 Take care, and have a good one! -Mark

@@DoubleClutchAutoReviews I have lived in Northern NM my entire life, born and raised in a small community by the name of Hernandez, if you are familiar with Ansel Adams, the photographer well known for his picture entitled, “Moonrise over Hernandez” that is exactly where I live. NM is beautiful, there are many tourist towns within our State, a beautiful town by the name of Taos which has skiing in the winter. The drive from Hernandez to Taos is a 45 minute drive, the mountains and the river which both run parallel to the highway are beautiful, during the spring and summertime there is a water runoff from the mountains so many tourists enjoy the water rapids. South of Hernandez and a 35 minute drive is Santa Fe, a very touristy town for individuals that enjoy the galleries, art, local New Mexican food, etc. Albuquerque is south of Santa Fe and is about an hour drive. AlbuQuerque Balloon Fiesta Event goes on in the month of October, for 2 weeks. It brings in thousands of people from many states and even countries. A sight to see at least once in your lifetime, the skies of NM are colorful in October due to the many hot air balloons in the air. If you ever come to NM and have extra time on hand, visit Colorado which is our neighboring state, the towns that my wife and I enjoy there are Pagosa Springs, Durango and Glenwood Springs. Mountains, scenery, tranquility, soaking and the views. Love it man! Peace to you and great chatting with you Senor as we often say in NM.

@@haroldm2441 Wow! I actually just looked up the picture. The mountains look beautiful. Seems like such a small, quaint town. Thank you for all of your advice and recommendations! I certainly plan on making it out there one day. The water rapids sound like an absolute blast. And I actually just saw some videos on IG of the balloon festival of people mountain biking through it. It looked absolutely incredible! Peace to you, and great chatting with you as well señor! 😎 -Mark

Great video as always. Finally had time to watch it but what I like is that I always learn something new about a car from your videos

Thank you buddy!! I hope you and the rest of the fam enjoyed it. Yes, my goal is for the viewer to only be entertained, but also learn at least one new thing from my videos. Please tell your dad thanks again for letting me do this, and the Gallardo! It's been a pleasure. Stay cool Aaron 😎

Like most new cars, it takes some time to break in. That Prowler hasn't even been broken in. You got only a small percentage of what it could really put out. Imagine how much fun you'll have in a Prowler with 50K miles in top condition.

15:44 - You failed to mention that the only available 8 Cylinder "parts bend" engine for that car when it was built was the Dodge Magnum 240 horsepower first gen Hemi. The 3.5 liter V6 (1999-2001) produced 253 Horses, and it was actually the most powerful engine available for that car at the time. 16:33 - Look at it this way, building a custom V8 Mopar Engine with horsepower that matched the looks of the Prowler would have been just as suicidal as a V10 Engine in the first gen Vipers. There was nothing about the first gen Viper that prevented you from killing yourself if you had an accident. As for the Prowler, it only came in a convertible, and there was no electronic stability control system. Imagine being in a rollover crash. 16:44 - The engine actually is a "parts ben" part. It came directly from the Dodge Intrepid.

This thing has always been insane to me bro i think my Grandpa may have had a Plymouth in Purple but i was so young at the time i cant quite remember lol. Thing is so insane, it reminds me of the Thunderbird remake with the older styling, but not necessarily an old car, its like a throwback. Awesome review ive never really seen a proper review of this car, the guage cluster is just so sick man. But like how do u even tell how fast ur going?? LOL so hard to see. Great stuff as always, what a quirky car lmao. Ur meme usage is A1 in these vids

Hey my friend! Thanks so much for checking out the video! 😁 Yes, this model is truly one of a kind. It's funny you mention that your grandfather may have had one. I am not kidding you man, I drove by so many people, particularly older folk, that could not keep their eyes off me when I rode by. I got stares and thumbs up multiple times. That's the generation that really appreciated cars that look like this. It was hilarious how many looks this car got. This thing is also practically perfect condition wise, so that definitely makes it very easy on the eyes on top of that. People literally cared 5-10x more about this car over the Lamborghini. It was hysterical! And you're exactly right. This is supposed to be a throwback/homage to that era when hot rods were popular. Yeah, you can't see the speedo very well. I wasn't even looking at to be honest with you hahah and thanks so much man! I always look forward to you commenting! Have a great weekend bud!

@@DoubleClutchAutoReviewsI mean he'll even myself I'd be staring down a prowler too lol. I feel like people think it's probably super fast even tho it's not. It's a sick car though, definitely a legend in my book

@@AgeraXXX You’re totally right. It definitely looks WAY faster than it is. However, a proper V8 swapped one, and that might change everything! Haha I’d be absolutely convinced to own a Prowler if I could buy a Hellcat swapped one! Lol surely a special car in the history book nonetheless! Thanks as always for checking out the video my man! Stay tuned for more! 😁

It looks better without the Mustache bumper. Oh, the pullout headlight lever: I had the same setup on my 99' wrangler. Its just more parts binning

Oh my God! No way, that is crazy. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed your former car! Going into this review, I did not really think the Prowler was anything special. However, after driving it, and having as much fun as I did, I now see the appeal. Sure, I still believe a Hemi V8, a 6-speed manual, and sharper steering would’ve ABSOLUTELY changed the entire feeling and perception of the Prowler for the better. Although, just due the looks and handling alone, I was having an absolute blast in that car. What is your name, may I ask? I’ll have to tell Lance that you saw the video. I also hope you enjoyed the review video nonetheless! If you did, please make sure to leave me a like, and also consider subscribing to the channel! This subscription is free to you, and it really helps me out! Thanks so much, and have a good day. -Mark

I disagree. The visibility with the top down is actually great in all directions. Much better than 90% of the convertibles out there.

It could've been a great car, IF it hadn't been so vastly underpowered.

@DoubleClutchAutoReviews 11 месяцев назад
I have to agree with you! If this bad Larry was pushing at least 350 HP, instead of just over 250 HP, I feel like that would've been more than a respectable number for the time. I will admit though, I still had a great deal of fun driving this car for many other reasons. One was the fantastic handling this car had, despite the crappy steering feel/precision. Another was fact that you are in an absolute rolling showpiece that was getting looks everywhere I went. Even though it wasn't fast, I still had a blast! Hahah I also very much hope you enjoyed the review video! If you did, please make sure to leave me a like, and also consider subscribing to the channel! @@dlcoombs7891 Interesting! I could tell the exhaust was opened up just by listening to it and looking inside the tail pipes. I did not realize that it was tuned though. I guess this Prowler was a little bit faster than your typical example then!
