@@rampar77 you only pay if you self sponsor yourself. Which means, you are not currently working for any department with hopes of getting hired. Any recruit that wears a patch of a department, does not have to pay, just like the LAPD.
@neilwarren2010 thanks. I have started the hiring process with lapd, but unfortunately, I am currently overweight, and I need to get in shape before starting the academy. I'm 35 years old, 6'1 Do you think 220 lbs would be a good weight to go to the academy? ( im currently weighing 240lbs) :(
Neil , I start my first CAPs Saturday but I have not worked out in forever I’m 5’11 220lbs… you think I’ll do okay? Or should I cancel and build endurance ??
I'm starting at a community college ran police academy as a self sponsor in 3 weeks. It's a non stress, laid back style academy here in Tennessee (non live in); 12 weeks. Thank GOD it's not paramilitary style!!
@@michaelcole3720 Why would I wish that on myself???? Lol I have alot of common sense. Anybody in their right mind wouldn't wish for something to be hard instead of easy; Nobody I know anyways
lol you want it easy because deep down, you know you couldn't hack it at a real academy. and you probably will fold when the shit hits the fan.@@ShawnA3104
@@neilwarren2010 yes sir already have been following both, just wanted to see if there was more in depth stuff for lapd like your videos here not too many I can find like this very helpful
Im currently an LAPD cadet. My fellow brothers and sisters feel lucky you guys are in this great school. It is very expensive but it is one of the best
Love this video I can not wait to become a police officer reminds me of my explorer days 🥲 thank you for being able to capture this amazing video BGPD ❤
I remember that first month of the academy praying to the lord above. But, after that first month this started looking up for me. I remember every and each time of being smoked in the academy. Who remember their first month? Congrats to these recruits. Watching this remind me of the time I went almost 10 years ago.
My first impression on watching this is that it's conducted like a military drill. This might have made sense back in the Korean war or in Vietnam, but it doesn't make sense in our own streets. While I understand LE needs to be prepared and alert to deal with any situation, getting prepared for urban warfare might be a tad bit on the exaggerated side.
