This is exactly what i needed! I have an old Ibanez with the 3 dpdt switches. I have question i cant figure out, if you have any idea: The guitar is HSS, Lets say i install 2 single sized HBs, and a regular HB. And i replace the DPDT with on-off-on 3 way switches. Is if possible to wire one of the on positions to split the coils? And do you have any idea how? I can't find diagrams anywhere.
Please, if the fretboard has a radius how to set the nut to the same radius as the fretboard? Or maybe it stays flat at the "0" fret position? Thank you
So I have a Slash Epiphone Firebird that the neck is D shaped, It felt fine when I played it to buy it but the longer I played it I started getting thumb pain, its the shoulders on the D shape of the neck. I could do the same as you do on it correct? Except what would you recommend for getting past the poly coat? ( I know patience and sanding) I wouldn't think using any chemicals as that would mess up the binding, Did you use grain filler on the neck or just applied the True Oil?
Would a neck or headstock repair prevent one from sanding down their guitar’s neck exactly as you did here? I don’t have any info on the repair but based on what I can see it doesn’t look like the repair/repaired crack extends to any portion of the neck; mostly on the headstock and the area where the head meets the neck that you did some fine tuning on. Thanks.
Thanks for the information, I am watching several videos on removing backs before I try my first one. I replaced a front that was damaged in a fire. (Heat, smoke, water: turned it into a 5 piece curly mess) The function is great, but the look, not my best work :) This will be better I am sure.
Great video. I just had this done to a Harley Benton LP style guitar. My hands just never fit with the fat LP neck. What was that finish oil you put on?
And of course I'm here because the double sided sticky tape on mine failed on the transducer mic and need to figure out if I can replace the sticky tape and reinstall in the right position. Thanks for posting.
Transfer tape will work (2 sided tape) .But your pickup box should have come with spare stickers, if it's the LR Baggs. What I do with the transducer is to ever so slightly stick it where it feels right , then look with a mirror and see. If you placed it wrong then it easily comes off and then try it again. When you have it where you like then really push it on there. I now sometimes use the bridge pins in there to get a feel for where I am. Good luck

@@Barringtonjohnbruce thanks for replying! I just finished my mod. It works exactly as I hoped it would, first time. Thank you for a comprehensive tutorial!
Have you noticed a lot of luthiers do not like heating the joints? You certainly can damage the finish... but I too prefer a bit of heat. However, I am here to learn, and I have learned at least 3 tricks from this video.
That will never play in tune. And it wont be long until those little rubber bushings wear out, or catch a snag and the whole thing falls apart. If it didnt come with one , it will never play in tune..
Yikes... I'm not going anywhere near my guitar with an electric drill - it would slip for sure... fully agree... let the professionals do it every time!
This is awesome. The power supplies normally take up some prime real estate on the board. Where did you get the bracket that fits the solo? I know there's a middle bracket forthe duo 24 but not for the duo 17 or solo 18 that i could find.
I have the same problem on my 2004 AVRI 62 Stratocaster,I put my one down to dust underneath the nitro finish which over time due to poor paint adhesion left the exact crack you have
I'm looking for someone to repair a broken Gibson SG headstock with splines. Do you have a website or contact info? I'm in Canada, think I detect a Canadian accent. Let me know. Thanks,
Thanks a lot for the video! Problem is, I get a whole bunch of noise with the volume off and/or tone on for some reason. Just replaced the volume pot and everything wiring related seems perfect, also tone reads 0 to 496k so it seems fine. I have HH config, 2 SPDT on off for each one, one 500k volume and one 500k tone. Only difference is I wired the grounds of the pickups to the ground lugs of the switches. Have you got any ideas?
Well I gave it a shot using that 250/500 split pot and both pickups provide signal/noise, and the humbucker push/pull pot coil splitting works like a charm, but I can't change volume and I can't alter the tone. Any Chance I can send you a diagram/picture to see if you could troubleshoot where I messed up?

I lost the 250/500k split pot and just wired it like you (two 500k pots) with the resistor and it worked. Innovation and novelty can easily be put aside when you paved a better path. Thanks! I had fun experimenting either way.@@Barringtonjohnbruce
I commented, but I added a link so it may have been deleted. Fender makes a 250/500k split pot. Can I use this to replace the need for the resistor if I use a push/pull 500k pot for the coil split? Does it matter which one is wired for volume/tone? thanks!
You should be able to do this with the 250/500 split pot, as a pot is a variable resistor,- so this would eliminate the need for a resistor.. I may assume the hum bucker goes to the centre lug of 500k, and single coil to centre of 250k. I also think it may not matter which is volume or tone..These are just guesses on my part. Your bethought process seems logical. Hope you find aa wiring diagram and best of luck
I'll try and find a wiring diagram. The wire that leads directly to the switch selector for the neck position has to come from the 250k centre, in order to make sure the single coil neck pickup sounds right? I may just order the part and hope it comes with a diagram, or ask a sales rep beforehand.@@Barringtonjohnbruce
I like the temple audio board format except for all of the holes and their mounting system. That puts you in a box when using all of their pedal plates. I would rather have a blank pedal board and put my own holes in it.
Can I send my D28 to you with the same Anthem system and have you install it? There is literally no one close to where I live that could do this. Can we discuss offline?
