I just offset the aileron servo arms one tooth toward the leading edge of the wing and lengthen the pushrods so that the ailerons are centered. Or, you can move the aileron control horns back from the hinge line a little and that will also create differential throw. Creating differential by altering the linkage geometry eliminates the need to use two channels and doesn't decrease the throw of the servos in the downward direction which decreases the resolution of the system.
Thanks Mike! I've been flying motorized gliders on my DX7 in 'Acro' mode so I could have a 'Flaps' setting. 🤦♂ Obviously not using the radios potential. This was a very clear, easy to follow example with good camera work on the screen. Now, I just have to set up Flaperons.
Hey Mike Great video. Got a question. On my DX9, I have my SAFE / AS3X switch on the " A " switch. By Default, SAFE is pushed all the way back, and AS3X is pulled inwards. How can I reverse that function to where SAFE is inwards and AS3X is pushed back. Hope I'm making since. Let me know please. THANKS.
Hey Buddy. I've been subscribed to your Channel for years now. Hopefully you can help me out. I have a DX9 Transmitter. Can you direct me to s Good video that walks me through, how to program a New, out of the box AR630 Receiver. With SAFE and AS3X. It would be greatly appreciated if you could. THANKS.
What does it say about Spektrum technology that 8 years after this video was published (2015) , it is STILL relevant and useable when programming a current NX10 radio. Very thankful for this video because I think I'm maybe 1 out of 8 people on the planet using Spektrum for DLGs. I should have kept my X20s and ETHOS for my DLG.
As a noobie to the RC world, I found this video to be one of the most informative I have watched so far. But I wish I had seen it a couple crashes ago! 😆😋
Hey Mike. Hope you're still around and helping people. I have a DX9. My Timber X has an AR631 Receiver. I programed the Airplane to have the SAFE option. As usual, on a maiden flight, I take the airplane off IN SAFE mode to get it to altitude. Then take SAFE off and trim the airplane. Always works like a charm. In AS3X, all the control surfaces operate correctly. But on SAFE, the gyros work in the opposite direction. Not leveling the airplane, but throwing it further into a spin. Left, right, up and down travel in the correct directions with my control sticks, but the gyro is NOT leveling the airplane, but throwing it further out of whack. Hope I'm making since. If you know how to reverse the gyro throws , please let me know. THANKS. Needless to say the airplane was severely damaged.
What if you don't have a computer transmitter and you are setting up an f-18 with independent servos for each side of the elevator I've got a y cord connecting 2 servos and they're working opposite of each other how do I fix it
Very nice and very helpful Mike. Do you have any videos on how to program GLG with just to servos per wing. How can I made to program de flaps on to throttle channel.? Thank you. Allan.
Good morning when I try to set my swash mix on my transmitter I get a message on the monitor screen inhibit cannot adjust what have I done wrong thanks in advance
I have a BIG problem. I have a DX9 transmitter and an RV-7 airplane with an AR631 receiver. I successfully set up my airplane the way I like it along with SAFE select assigned to switch "A" A afterwards I realized that I really need SAFE to be on switch "B" I've tried everything I can think of to move that SAFE function over to switch "B" with no success. Even Re binding the airplane with SAFE OFF. Then Re binding SAFE back on and attempting to move it overt to switch "B". I f you know how, can you please assist me. THANKS.
Mike, this X Plus module is exactly what I need (if it will work). I have DX8 (SPMR8000) transmitter and a AR8000 receiver and have it in a used fireboat that I was given to work with. The boat needs more than the 8 channels. I know that I will need to replace the receiver but I can't seem to get to the X Plus mode. Was that not available in the SPMR8000 ?
I haven't used my DX6 for 4 years and I just is charged the battery and all I get it is the following warning, ' Warning throttle high, warning stunt one. ' I can't get beyond that when I turn the transmitter on. Any idea what's wrong?
Despite the fact that we are almost 7 years later, I am happy with this explanation! I use an NX10 and have now managed to do it with a (motorized) glider :-)
If you have retracts would you set your switch over to back far right or still use A switch ? Judy wondering is assigned switch “ gear” gets impacted when you have retracts ?
Hi Mike. I get a Voice and written warning " WARNINGS ESC. 0.0 0.0A 32.0 F" It will disappear and I get the usual main screen. When I'm in the air my motor will pulsate. Any insights as to what is causing this? Thanks. Bob Katz
goal, technique and logic were clearly communicated. We can't seem to slow down super fast 360 rudder servo. Other servos in same custom slot run fine. Suggestion?
Thank you for this video. I have been struggling to assign Safe to a switch for weeks. This is my first plane with AS3x technology & the manuals don’t go into the details that you show here. After watching this I found that Safe was assigned to my chosen switch, the problem was the switch was not programmed to change the gains. Yours is the only video I found that talks about what the switch does & how to adjust safe.
At 5:31 you see the servo set-up screen. This transmitter isn't set up for multiple servos of any sort. Matter of fact, it's set up is the default. The info on balancing is correct though, but he could have at least used a correctly set up transmitter as an example.
Mike, am I correct in saying you can not use the TX sequencer in conjunction with an electronic sequencer, correct? In other words, you’d want to use one or the other. Is that right?
