The new Seiko isn't worth the money, the reason I got a Seiko in the first place is to save money while getting a quality product. That's not the case at the moment.
Lmao every guy now has this opinion, lol they don't even realize that "old seiko prices" were actually greymarket prices. The dressy seiko 5 that I bought years ago as a present was like 80 bucks but the msrp from seiko was like 350$ similar to the new 5snkx models.
Sound instruction & advice, Mimo. Some movements (especially newer designs) don't have a danger zone for the date quick-set, but unless you know for sure, the best thing is to assume the 9-3 danger zone applies (or 8-4 to be more careful), and yes even for analog quartz. I also avoid hand-winding my automatics and I would prefer that they didn't hand-wind at all. Some automatics tolerate it better than others, but it's still a good rule to let the automatic module do its thing *and* be gentle when screwing down the crown (as normally you're winding the watch when you do that). I think it was Philippe Dufour I heard this from first (to avoid handwinding automatics) so you're in good company giving that advice, Mimo. 👍
Hey man. I got this same watch recently. But my lume doesn't seem to last all the long. I'm wondering if it's defective. Did you notice the same by any chance? Thanks.
this is a field watch, with very little lume area, not much to store and glow. On Seiko diver watches theres more lume stronger and longer glow compare to your watch.
@@mimoswatches Perhaps it’s the lack of lume area. But for a field/outdoors watch, the lume is disappointing. I have cheap Seiko 5s with better lume :/
Saw the black 89 today and must say it’s beautiful! The indices are more a fauxtina cream color than it appears here. I really love the look. I bought a Rolex Explorer a couple of months ago and still really want this watch. 😂
I have “real” watches and a lot of them. I have a friend who buys the #nkuwan we put them side by side and guess what ?! It’s unbelievable!!! I am at the Rolex boutique with her and no one can tell he has a fake
Bad review, it's ridiculous that you don't show close-up images of the watch or some macros to get a clearer idea of the shapes, the quality of the workmanship and the colors. Seen from this distance it could be anything. Bad, bad, bad.
I think the original versions were better, more authentic looking,no catering to the current watch enthusiast trends, plus its only a little more than 1/4 price.
Mine arrived yesterday and there is definitely a big step up in quality. For me I am happy with the price. At first I was a little worried due to the price increase but now seeing it in person it is 100% better overall than my original
It depends if you look at specs or the watch as a whole. I have a 79 grey sunburst and this new one looks a far more cohesive package that is finished to a far higher degree. If you pick this up for a 30% discount it'll barely be $100 more than you'd pay these days for an snxs which makes them a far superior pick
Mine arrived yesterday and there is a big step up in quality. The watch is finished to a much higher standard than my original. The bracelet is better quality as well
@@kresimirpleic value is extremely subjective when it comes to watches. Also I have the old one. I bought it for 120 and spent another 100 upgrading it (strap, domed crystal, slim case back). This new one will be on discount for 250 soon so the price difference isn't really much especially considering the improved finishing and movement as well.
4r36 is crap. I have one of 38mm 5kx, always losing 10-12 seconds per day. My skx runs better than this at +5 per day. I'll get a snxs anyday for thr 7s26 movement.
Thank you for the good looking views. I was trying to see how polished or brushed the full lume case looks. Looks super polished even though it's got the dark coating
