From about Hall rd area Northwards property is usually for those ho have more money than sense to spend such extreme luxury homes. RICH & FAMOUS ( FOOTBALLERS are usually the main types. ) But, it has been known to have other extreme wealthy types. & security is usually very tight & secure on these properties.
I've lived in Southport since I was a kid and it's not the town it was nowadays its so sad to see so many shops and buisness go it really is . I use to love going here but not bothered for a long time now coz it upsets me how run down its gone .
You started walking from Waterloo and continued to do so Not Crosby ! When you were walking on the wide expanse of hard standing and walked past big rubbish bins the local marine lake wast to the right of you!then instead of you following the railings of the promenade you decided to walk to the right and onto blown sand , all that area is a total mess because the local authority Sefton Council to whom we all pay our council tax to refuse to remove the sand off the once beautifully promenade,a few years ago they did make attempts to remove some of it but they just dumped it on the beach and then we had windy days and of course the sand blew back ! They should have used their brains and sold the sand for industry or possible glass making So the next time you make a video somewhere please do your homework first and get the location correct .
Many thanks for making the video on the main shopping street in Formby which is Chapel Lane .I having lived in Formby all my life all 77 years have sure noticed a big change over the years from a sleepy village where everyone knew each other and that there was very little crime other than maybe would be stopped by police for riding a bike without lights now to a large town where footballers live and the other big properties are all owned by drug dealers as they are the only folks who can afford them Formby was a very nice place when I was growing up but not now with crime all the time and drugs being ferried every evening from Liverpool and Bootle by way of the Sefton Coastal Path which the police cannot get a grip and stop the county lines deliveries as they just patrol in cars which cannot fit onto the coastal path of which part Forms the King Charles national coastal path
As a former resident of Southport I enjoyed this - I am going to contradict the comments on here - when I moved in the seafront was really rundown and bleak, Now it is modern, clean and there are plenty shops and facilities there. It takes time to turn these resorts around - Southport will get there !
Southport is a shell of itself from the 1980's . Liverpool has just sucked the money out of the area, the shopping is in decline like most areas. Still a lovely town & home though. Scarsbrick hotel made me laugh, many a lad has found his doom in that area.
The owners of the Bramley Moore bar that appears at 14:15 must be rubbing their hands with glee. Right across the road from a brand new 53,000 seat football stadium. I'll bet that will boost their profits.
I was told by a member of staff at the Titanic Hotel that they're flattening the pub!! Must be for parking or something like that. Shame as I was thinking the same as you, it would have been great business for the pub.
That stretch is. The working docks all moved to container ports upstream 50 years ago, and the old dock road has declined. It will be transformed in the next 10 years or so, like the city centre has been. I guess you haven't visited recently.

The planning application included shuttle buses to the city centre and Bootle town centre. There'll probably be shuttle buses to Sandhills Station, too. A normal Saturday train schedule is 12 trains an hour to Moorfields (change for Lime Street) and Central and, going the other way, 4 each to Kirkby, Ormskirk and Southport (and all stations in between). 4 of the 12 Liverpool bound trains go through to Hunts Cross in the south end. Compared to Goodison, the public transport links will be excellent.
Not so sure TBH - that part of the road will be closed off on match day. And when Peel get around to building the 'Central Docks' there'll be a riverside route too.
How Formby has changed, I'm surprised how much stock is outside the shops, and A boards, I remember when Sefton council used to take them away. Now they don't even have the Staff, amazing sharp video!

Vista l'ultima volta nell'ottobre del.1969; c'erano ancora ai lati gli scranni dei Padri Conciliari, col Concilio Ecumenico Vaticano II appena terminato.
