Hi and welcome to our channel! A bit about me and my background - After 20 years in the motor industry I decided to quit my high earning job, pension, private health care and company car and decided now was the time! I wanted to work towards my goal of starting my own business to support me and my family. At this time the worldwide pandemic hit, we were due to open in March 2020, exactly when lockdown started in Scotland, we then opened in July 2020. This was an incredibly difficult time for most businesses, we worked hard towards our vision and over 2 years down the line our business is thriving! We have now won 4 awards! We have also started this you tube channel, so come with us for this crazy ride in the motor trade! Lets see how many vehicles we can save! With enough support from you guys and subscribers, hopefully we can find the time for our own HONDA CIVIC resto mod thanks for watching and if you haven't already, please subscribe to the channel many thanks Stephen Cairney

ah, thank you, man. That's great. I highly appreciate it the comment my baby brother will be. I'm tenerife next week for his honeymoon have a great holliday in tenerife we have had yellow weather ⚠️ across the UK for rain past few days lol 😆
well, my friend, thanks for watching and commenting. If you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day we'll I guess that all depends on what side of the pond you're from and to be fair it is a metal shaft that powers the hubs in order to drive the wheels this audi had 4 drive shaft and one central prop shaft lol have a great day man
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button, and have a great day I honestly can't remember the cost if these units we see lots of cars every other day what I can member with these COIL packs is you are much better with an oe approved unit as some aftermarket coil packs can cause ecu failure so try and get an or approved part have a great day 😀
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day no this one comes out from the top of the engine baybthisnwas a mark 6 or 7 front wheel drive if I remember correctly have a great day hope youbget your issue sorted
that's not a circip with holes in it for pliers. You can crack on all day long with pliers if you like on a half-moon clip with no holes but if you follow my method here were I reused the clip in the next part 2 of the video you can clearly see its in no shape mangled like you think you have seen if there were holes in the clipbinwoupd indeed use circlip pliers but since this type of clip does not have holes this is the only way to remove them safely without damaging them or rhe gear selector
@@cairney0037 Wooops! This is the first time for me working on a Ford and geees. The lack of quality engineering is atrocious. Working on an Alfa is a doddle. I think working on my old 66 Ford was easier. Even my Morris Mini was easy, once you made all the necessary mods for access. This gear selector is a case in point. I think a Uni Grad designed it.
@doraexplora9046 lol, well, these are Ford transits usually found in construction sites, so they get crudded up with mud and in Scotland we get lots of cold conditions in winter sonde get salt and grit on our roads wich destroys metal horrendous for cars and vans trucks etc thanks for watching if you haven't allready hot that subscribe and have a great day 😀
yea, we re tapped the pump threads just to be safe. It's sometimes not cheaper when your mate does it, lol 😆 thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button, and have a great day 😀
Sigh, no year, no actual work done. Cant figure out how to get the front calipers down on a transit 250 2023. Where the pins should be are caps with grease holes? Im so confused
do you know what the bolt sizes were by any chance my one that is near the middle of the van was sheered i tried a different bolt with a washer but still leaking with my new pipe so i need to get the propper bolt
Thank you so much for this video! The only video I was able to find on 3.0tdi engine. Have to remove and replace the sump on mine. Just drained oil and was thinking how to get to back bolts of the sump. Glad to see that pretty easy. If you ever see this comment I'd love to know what silicone would you recommend to reseal the sump? And you don't happen to know approx how much is a new sump and where I could order one with bolts maybe. On mine everything looks rusty and due for a replacement. Thank you
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting. If you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day, I get all my volkswagen audi parts from tps, the vw group trade parts centre I would recommend dealer parts they last longer if you plan on keeping it not sure where you are in the world or where would be best for you in your area the best gasket sealer I can recommend would be lock tight high temp but there are other equally as good products I am not endorsed bye lock tight ut if they happen to be reading this I would love come free high temp Blasck engine gasket maker with the squeazy nozzle that's the best in my opinion as long as everything is cleaned I usually let a sump drop over night if possible and then clean everything up spotless lots of brake cleaner lol 😆 have a great day
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day if memory serves me right it 4 or six bolts and 4 plastic push clips fir the bottom cover
What kind of grease did you use? I guess the arm can get a bit hot as it's connected to the turbo. On mine the arm is not seized yet but maybe it's a good idea to future proof it.
Good Afternoon, I potentially have fuel slowly entering the oil and am currently trying to identify the cause (Mercedes Sprinter 2015 - 313d 906). The DPF has low soot build up so I am thinking it's either the HP fuel pump seal or an injector problem, although the motor funs fine. Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks for the vid!
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting. If you haven't already, please subscribe and have a great day it would be easier to remove the fuel injectors for testing first, but if it's running fine, it could be the pump leaking Insode the timing casing it's not easy to remove the fuel pump some technicians take the engine out I just struggled on and removed or this one had x4 new injectors and genuine mercedes fuel pump fitted thanks again for watching 👀
@@cairney0037 Thank you for quick response. Liked and subscribed. Can you advise on the test to determine if the fuelling problem is being caused by the injectors? I believe some test do not offer conclusive results. I am hoping if the injectors are ruled out it the pump can be removed and just the seal replaced whilst attached to the vehicle. The van is currently on 171k miles and I'm due to head off on a trip in the van around Europe in a week or so! :(
@jareddesmier5351 the only thing that can be done on the injectors in place is a leak off test wich required special tooling to carry out this just checks all injectors are returning the same amount of fuel back to the tank what you should Donisthorpe have the injectors removed to see if the nozzles are leaking this could cause your rising oil level unfortunately there's not much you could replace on the fuel pump without removing if it I doubt you could even change the low pressure rubber hoses in place and they Re external so wouldn't like to thinkntjat would be your problem of your going travelling I highly recommend you get it into your local garage as soon as possible many thanks again for watching Stephen cairney CAIRNEYS AUTO SOLUTIONS LTD
Hey I have fuel entering my oil too, been searching for a few weeks to find the issue, tested fuel injectors yesterday, they passed and were clean enough, vehicle runs great, just not realized I have to check the fuel pump pressure seal, I'm using UV dye to add in my fuel and then shine a light to see the leak, need all the help I can get regarding the issue but this video helps, I'm in a 2016 150k miles, smells like diesel and I'm blowing white blue and some black smoke if that rings any bells, not all the time just when I decelerate I see smoke
@minyardmatt hi, and thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day if you have oil level rising due to diesel getting into the oil and tou have had the injectors spray pattern and leak test done then I would be removing the high pressure pump this one in the video was recovered in with a crank no start situation and what seemed to be a pretty easy repair at the time as the fuel filter plastic pipe was broken and just pouring diesel everywhere however rhis van unfortunately had 2 leaks after the filter was replaced upon cranking qw noticed diesel still poring out from the back of the engine it was impossible to see with the pump in still fitted as we could see the leak would be present with ignition on only I knew it had to be the low pressure side as we were only ignition on and no crank so I removed the pump and re fitted the x2 rubber fuel lines and could see the leak with the pump removed and in my hand I could see it was definitely the high pressure pump there is a small hole in the body wich is meant to be there however there must have been an internal seal failure allowing fuel to pour out of the hole and would have been entering the sump aswell as the floor I replaced with a genuine new Mercedes pump and had to replace x4 injectors aswell as she wouldn't fire up even after she had no more visible leaks and good pressure to the rail it still required the 4 injectors the 4 injectors had locked up due to the sudden fuel starvation so I would be removing the high pressure fuel pump and having a look of nothing else was disturbed prior ie gearbox or anything rocker cover I have seen them with leaknof pipes burst at the rear of rocker shouldn't be able to get into the oil but and toubwould see a visible leak if nothing else eas disturbed prior to this fault check the pump and have a great day 😀
why thank you. I will indeed need to get back to the editing life's been getting in the way as it does, lol 😆 thanks again for watching I've got a few more videos in the pipe line that just need editing big audi done ✔️ honda project also made some significant progress 😀
Hey, i’m about to do the same job to my 1.0 Turbo Astra K witht the B10 engine. Do you know if i have to take off the subframe as well? And which brand of clutch pump do you recommend? It started leaking so that is the reason im taking off the entire gearbox.
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button, and have a great day. It's most probably the same suspension set up. This one, if memory serves me right, was a diesel. The clutch we fitted to this one we couldn't source aftermarket, so was genuine vauxhall part but it was made bye sachs had Sachs engraved or stamped on the drive plate the subframe was removed on this model
I need your advice, the radiator is cold but the water bottle is boiling and steaming. Changed the water pump, removed the thermostad and redone the top gasket. But the water is boiling in but radiator is cool. Advice please🙏🙏🙏
does it boil the coolant pretty instantly from cold? if so, then you're most probably looking at compression leaking into the coolant from the cylinders? Was the cylinder head pressure tested and skimmed to make it flat and true for the gasket to seal without seeing your car personally its just a guessing game 🎮
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting. If you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day, it could be air, but without seeing the car, I would only be guessing. Try bleeding it again and see what happens
I have the same issue, got the circuit purged but still happens. On my local shop they told me to replace the whole clutch if it remains. What did you do? (118K kms 1.4T here)
@churrinification Hi, and thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day replaced with a genuine vauxhall clutch, which was all that was available at the time but although it came in a Gm box it had GM STAMPED ON IT BUT ALSO SACHS lol so sachs made it for gm wish is now owned bye the psa group lol Hope that helps have a great day
it's English, with a beautiful Scottish accent 😍 😀 thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button, and have a great day 😀
yea, I did remove the subframe on this model. There was no aftermarket clutch available at the time, but when it came from the vauxhall psa group, it was made by sachs hope that helps thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day
Could you describe the symptoms of a front diff going bad? My 2014 Touareg has developed a humming noise that doesn't necessarily increase in pitch as you go faster and faster, but I definitly hear it getting lower while coasting and coming to a stop... Oh, I'm Belgian and understand your English just fine. 👌
hi, and thanks for commenting. If you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day, it can be very difficult to diagnose a front diff best on a ramp with someone driving it and listening with a stethoscope but it could just be wheel bearing if you are on a straight stretch of road and tou steering to the right or left and the tone changes or decreases tou may be able to narrow the side down and hopefully its just a wheel bearing rather than expensive diff rebuild hope that helps and that's great tou could understand my poor attempt at English lol I wish I could speak another language have a great day 😀
yea, I couldn't believe I read somewhere glasgow was the MURDER capitol of Europe. we lost that title, but now we're not in the European Union, lol have a great day mate thanks for your continued support. I'll need to get some non neime and dog related footage soon. all those police were gor a 15 year old teenager lol 😆
the sad thing is the lady taken it back and said there's a noise since the springs have been replaced they said that was normal she went back again and said I'm sorry I've had this car a long time it has never made this noise untill the work was done they said it was the seatbelts she said no why did they not make this banging noise before and she was escorted off the premises and banned from that particular nation wide franchise and yet it taken all of 2 seconds 2 find the human error fault definitely not the seat belt lol have a great day and thanks for watching if you haven't allready hit that subscribe and have a great weekend 😎
@scottgarven9165 your son must be lucky to have such a beautiful Scottish accent. The ladies will love him when he's older, thanks for watching and commenting if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day
hi, and thanks for watching and commenting. If you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day, it is available to order from mitsubishi, but it's very expensive. The customer sourced this himself from eBay. I hope that helps
yea, we have another one in now. Suspect the pump in the tanks gone in this one we have in different faults this time they're getting more common now the urea issues on them hope you get to the bottom of it thanks for watching if you haven't already hit that subscribe button and have a great day
@@cairney0037 Engine light came on on Thurday afternoon, later that afternoon Urea warning. Topped up with Adblue at home. Friday still engine light, urea light, but now emissions warning, and later, 700 mile limit. I've got someone to look at it on Wednesday next week, and that's the earliest, even main Peugeot garage can't see me till May 1st. I'll let you know what the Mechanic discovers.
