I'm teaching myself how to create videos of the places I visit in Scotland. I love getting outdoors and exploring Scotland. I also write stories and share photos of where I've explored on www.loveexploringscotland.com
I'm a proud past member of My Peak Challenge (2016-2019) which helped encourage me to try new hobbies like creating this channel.
I hope you enjoy my videos, a teeny wee snapshot of Scotland's beautiful scenery.
Lovely video. Great walk. The Saddle catches many people out as its much harder than an O.S. map would suggest. Well done. Nice surprise by a Merlin fly past too!. Very well made. Steven
Thanks so much Steven! We both thought we wouldn't manage The Saddle, but totally surprised ourselves by taking it slow and the good weather helped. What a feeling it is standing there with views of the Arran mountains all around. Arran keeps calling us back every year to explore more 🙂
@crazyoldmaninthewoods thanks so much 😀 The walk totally surprised me and I love the history about some of the places I walked through. You could maybe cycle some parts, it's mixed terrain though. There's photos on my blog stories as well, link in description. Thanks! 😀
Was doing some research into my family history and discovered my 8x great grandmother, Eleanor Dunn (1698-1793), was from Dundonald. Would love to visit after learning this and watching your video of the castle. Scotland is beautiful!
Wow, it's interesting when you can trace that far back and I would imagine you start to feel a connection to a place. I know I would and love to trace the footsteps of my ancestors. If you can, plan that trip! I have a few other videos of Dundonald. I love wandering the ancient woodlands, Smugglers' Trail and the Old Auchan's House ruin is my favourite place: ru-vid.com/group/PLZ6HK14GqTbqurNaamQg1z-mhuSVRae4L&si=Wt4lT1sHeynbfOAQ
@@loveexploringscotland Definitely seeing and feeling that connection to Scotland after that discovery and others in Scotland. I have ALWAYS wanted to visit Scotland more than any other country since I was a kid. I'll definitely have to make a trip now 😄 Thanks for the link to your other videos! I'll definitely watch them!
@@loveexploringscotland I camped there one night with a permit. Staying there the evening during the night until next morning was such an amazing experience. If you are into camping, I highly recommend it.
Hi, you see the island at the beginning on the sail across, but this video is about the hike to the top 😀. I returned a few weeks ago and walked the coastal path, beautiful too.
Thank you 😀. If you subscribe and select notifications RU-vid should let you know when I upload a new video. I am going to be creating a new video soon.
It is beautiful and peaceful, I loved wandering there. It was recorded over four years ago and my husband used his DJI Mavic Pro drone at the time. Recording from above shows the stunning unique cliffs and coastline 😍
I like your content and videos very much. I hope i can visit Scotland one day. So mesmerizing ♥ I love the vegetation there! Great music choice , too. I can't wait to watch your new videos. Thanks for sharing. All the best to you. See you next time again.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment 😀. I try to capture as much of the beauty as I can so I can look back and enjoy the moments all over again. Thank you!
We're looking to do this hike in the summer. We'll be wild camping. Is there anywhere near Sorn village and near/on the way that would be good for wild camping?
There's lots of grassy areas along River Ayr near Sorn. I've loads of photos on my blog that might help give you a visual. There's also a great spot at Failford when you reach that part. Just as you enter the Ayr Gorge Woodlands there's a huge grassy area beside the river and the Failford Inn nearby. I think it is still open, but you might need to check. I've still to write up the rest of the walk, so more photos will be added soon. I hope you get nice weather, I loved every minute of it! Link to my blog loveexploringscotland.com/ Good luck 😀
Stone skimming is credit to my friend when I showed her the walk recently! It has been so nice to see these places Mel. I felt like a tourist where I live. Thank you 🥰
I’ve been “doon the watter” on The Waverley several times, normally from the Isle of Arran. The last time we were onboard, it was a beautiful sunny day, with the Kilbrannan Sound, between Arran and Kintyre, like the proverbial mill pond. As the ship turned to thrash her way back to Lochranza, a Spitfire of all things appeared out of a cloudless sky. The pilot was obviously as intrigued by the sight below him as we were of such an iconic plane, because it banked and flew around The Waverley several times, waggling its wings in salute. The Waverley blew her horn in response and we passengers cheered and waved. The ‘Spit’ then climbed and resumed its original course.
As far as it goes, I'm interested in this castle because I'm a descendant of Alexander, the 6th earl of Eglinton. Tis unfortunate, the 16th decided to abandon the castle, but the surrounding land is still beautiful.
could you please dedicate an entire video with your cloak being worn in the windiest place in scotland you can find? it would be fun to see what it would look like as it billows around!
LOVELY TOUR & SCENERY!! LOVE SCOTLAND, YOUR ACCENTS, PIPERS & ALL. WISH I COULD VISIT YOUR LAND. HOPE SOMEDAY!! RESPECT TO YOU ALL & HISTORY.👏👏👍👋🏴🇬🇷
I remember the first time I visited Scotland. Seeing Buachaille Etive Mor reduced me to tears. The atmosphere and grandeur of this place is incredible. It was great to be back over there earlier this month. Thanks for sharing.
It's a place where your feelings are deep within your soul. We usually just pass through, so it was brilliant to actually stay there for a few days and really feel the place. I love Arran as you know, but Glencoe is now pulling me too. Thanks Mel 🙂
Thank you 😀 yes it has been a while since I've created for RU-vid. I must admit I've missed it and loved creating this video. It was and is so beautiful there! I hope you get back to visit soon.
Thank you. This was my first time visiting and didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked to find out any more about what it's like living there. Beautiful village and area and hope to return one day. Check out this website as it will give you more information about Braemar. braemarscotland.co.uk/ 😀
@@loveexploringscotland Just reading information provided in your link I don't wish to spend 90 minutes driving into one of three cities. I want to patronize local shops with a range of good food, though it looks like I may be disappointed.
