the components in your pinecil actually support up to 42v, yours probably broke because you dropped it in a way that bent the pcb, the ceramic caps on any soldering iron can break and when they do just short themselves, if you want to, i'd love to know if when you measure the resistance between the positive and negative of the barrel plug on the pinecil you find its shorted...
Yep, that's what the Pinecil support told me. I shipped it to him and I told him that if he can fix it, it's his. :) He didn't provide any update even after asking for an update. Most likely it's fixed. :)
