A low setting on a normal iron might still be too hot for the wax, and might even burn your paper. Also, most normal iron will produce steam, which would not be suitable for this!
I've never seen anything like this before and your work is amazing! I have been working with some alchohol inks and when I showed it to someone they mentioned it resembled encaustic art which I'd never heard of before. I stumbled across your video and am quite mesmerized. Thank you for sharing this!
I have bought these cards. Using layers of wax and fusing carefully still bends the cards out of shape. Now watching your video, (and the wax sealer one), I realise that you apply paints with the iron only, but do not layer nor fuse. I wish I had known that before I made the purchase and I understand why pre-encaustic gessoed board are so much more expensive. Like a wood support, they don’t warp. .
