Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my channel. My name is Jamie and I’m cad crazy. I have 20 years working within the motor trade and owned and driven cars from pretty much all manufacturers. I have a classic car collection, retro car collection , and even big American V8s. I have owned supercars such as the Ferrari 360 and Audi R8, with plenty more content to come. I have and still do operate my own small car dealership, and have done for 8 years. Follow me on my adventures and I will give you the best buyers tips, honest reviews, and as much information I can about the cars I encounter along the way.
Very informative video.Ill be looking for a 360 before the end of the year, but here in Australia they’re very pricey.I did get some prices for parts from an independent Ferrari mechanic near me, but these guys are few and far between here in Perth. At least the cars here are rust free, although we do have a lot of UK imports. The Australian delivered cars have a premium…at least A$20-30k more. I did consider importing one myself, but the import costs and taxes are too much. Great video though 👍
I read lots of reviews saying the sport suspension is "too harsh" for the street. I ordered the sport suspension with Goodyear tires and feel the setup is perfect for me. Aggressive spring rate but very forgiving damping. I'm delighted!!
Best body design is the Vauxhall Monaro VXR. Any Idea where I can get the Vauxhall Monaro front and Rear bumper plus side skirts. And headlights and taillights.
I have the 2006 Lumina SS coupe in Dubai. I guess the lowest specification was for the gulf edition... it's a 2006 Monaro body With a Pontiac GTO interior that has just one center digital display and big knobes for climate controls... ugly cup holders unlike the sophisticated press slide down cup holders. No Alcantara... the engine is a LS1 from 2004 to 2006... thats 53hp less and older technology... was disappointed when I got the car and then came to know that it's a LS1, it was the last car available in T56.
Cheers, Holden. For giving us to have the chance from 2004 to 2006 to get it as a GTO in the states. If there's one thing that Australia I'll always love besides going down there and meeting some of the most cheerful people on Earth. It's their vehicles I'd give anything for the U.S. to let them have up here unchanged from their original form.
Interesting that you say that it has one of the best gear shifters you have ever experienced while in a lot of reviews the gear shifter is described as being not so great.
Good luck finding parts in the US. We GTO owners have a hard time finding individual replacement parts for our Pontiac GTO’s. especially when it comes to headlights fog, lamps, or any type of cosmetic replacement parts.
Thanks for this Jamie, really appreciate it, keeping it maintained was more scary than actually buying, I would l might be able to reach a 458, but realistically I was more looking at a 360 or a 430 tbh.......with your info a 458 feels like its just in reach tho ? thanks again.
My '05 GTO still gets that same average MPG in 2023. How can I install that dual exhaust switch? I love it's original low soft growl.. but would like her to bark sometimes.
Great video, Im an Aussie and Ive had my LS1 , nostril nose VZ 2004 Monaro for 18 years and I still love driving it. Huge recognition still here in the land of down under to the point that, of the dozen or so times I've been pulled over by the boys in blue for speeding 10km over the limit , I've only been fined once ( got pulled over I'm front of a cafe and had too many witnesses to let me off) Usually they just tell me to cool my heals , talk about the beast and just send me off on my way. With the Australian good weather and open winding roads , you lower the windows and you can easily drive at 60-70 MPH ( 100-120km/hr ) and not have any wind buffering in the vehicle allowing you to enjoy the music, conversation and burble of the V8.
I still remember what happened to 1 of the 1st test driver's of the new release monaro in Adelaide, he was video taping the test drive then nekminit a couple of stolen VN commodore's blocked him an the Holden's salesman in an stole it, they got the car back a couple week's later.....this thing looks like a weapon an I'd love to drive it just 1 time lol with no traction control 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Fantastic car Jamie thanks for the video. Looking for this exact model myself (lower tax bracket too) They seem few and far between! How you getting on with it?
If you changed your order that's on you mate we don't need to know why. Not everyone wants the same thing. They starting production and sales of the AMG model next year and that's what I'm waiting for while some others are getting the manual v6. I can say both models will perform quite differently but I'd still take the automatic any day
If I was lucky enough to be able to afford one of these I would have the 2.0 automatic. Only because here in Wales they are trying to lower the speed limit to 20MPH . But I can’t, so I will have to keep my 2004 BoxsterS. 👍
Thanks for this in depth description. About the general wear and tear, what about the cooling system (radiator, whoses, pump, thermostat...) and the suspension? How many years/miles are they serviceable at?
That's not standard 😕 i can see two modifications straight away . Indicators and exhaust ,,,,,. also note no under bonnet pics I do own a 100% original evo 4
I love the white interior, but the maintenance on it just seems impossible... Red seems to be a bit too cheap looking (wish it was a darker red) so I'm looking at the tan/beige interior... Dunno might go back to red.... haven't spec'd out my emira yet as I have passed on the FE's and decided to go with a Base. (My dealer wants 20K over MSRP)
